I wish I could think of something nice to say here, since there are no other reviews, but the best I can come up with is that the receptionist is reasonably courteous… if you can get her on the phone. But they almost never answer the phone there. She can’t give you directions to their office without reading from a badly-written script, and the office itself is pretty inefficient, until it’s time to send a bill. Their most modern piece of equipment is a fax machine. They get phone messages BYFAX. You cannot email them; they do not seem to have their own website. But the doctor. Oh dear. He has zero bedside manner, no rapport, no warmth, and he’s supposed to be a psychiatrist for children and teenagers. His office has almost no decorations and nothing for a child to look at. His manner is dry and pedantic, and he drones on at great length very slowly until you want to scream. It did not seem as if he really listened to anything we said to him. He never smiles or even seems to make eye contact. It’s as if he regards his patients not as people, but as algebra problems; this symptom, this body weight, this dosage of this drug, and that’s it. I don’t know exactly how to evaluate his professional knowledge; it’s not my field, and I do realize that it’s a hard job. Also, I don’t wish to violate the patient’s privacy by offering any more details. Still, it is not my impression that any benefit was gained from his treatment. Again, I really wish I could find something nicer to say. This is the harshest review I’ve ever given.
