You’ve got a silver counter, and you’ve got a grill. That’s about the setup at Cruzers. Lovingly run by a few gals who like bikes you’ll be entertained while you sit there waiting for your food to be cooked. Fantastic. Try one of their burgers and pair it with their homemade seasoned fries those two items were delicious but don’t listen to them about the carnitas, it pretty much tasted like a burrito my elementary school would have tried to serve when I attended public school. I’m sure their location on 6th street will ensure their continued success.

This newly re-opened restaurant on 6th street is like the sweet, plain(fill in gender or genders you’re attracted to) at the bar that you’d only hook up with if you had beer goggles. We stopped in a Sunday night after we were disappointed to discover the magical taco truck from the night before on 6th and Red River street wasn’t out. Above the ‘Cruzers’ sign read Tacos, Burgers, Sandwiches. The warnings signs were there — tacos & burgers? — but we were on a mission… Behind the counter was the energetic owner and her daughter. We scanned the menu and it was kind of a hodgepodge of diner-like items. Looked like they were still finding their way. We asked what to get and the owner wholeheartedly recommended the pork carnitas tacos. Again, the warnings signs were there — $ 4.25 for a carnitas taco?, the owner was as Mexican as she was Martian — but she seemed so excited that we went ahead. Was the taco bad? Eh. I finished it so it couldn’t have been that bad. I just pretended a girlfriend had made it, smiled politely, and nodded when asked«It was great, right?» The place is still new so they might stumble on the right formula. If you give it a try, I just recommend trying something like the Nathan’s hot dog or the BLT. And if it isn’t good, be nice :)
