I ordered a Chocolate Pecan pie and it was amazing. Truly a pleasure to deal with this business!

I was asked to pick up a buttermilk pie from another bakery while I was in town but their hours and customer service were horrible. After some research I decided to give Cutie Pie a call. Not only was she accommodating, when she found out I was just visiting she offered to deliver to make it easier on me. Many thanks to the sweetie pie who runs Cutie Pie. The day of my pick up she was at a farmers market so we arranged to meet downtown. She was great about keeping me posted and my pies arrived fresh from the oven. The price was fair and the service was friendly. Brought those suckers back and somehow I only ended up with one bite before they vanished. Yes that one bite was delicious but I would have preferred to experience it by the slice!(Everyone was a fan) If you want a specific pie or a full size, just give her a call so she can set it aside for you. The mini pies are a great size and they come in a great variety of flavors.

Wandering around South Congress the other day, I spotted something magical and rare. Something I previously suspected was a myth. Was it a unicorn? The endangered Florida panther? A courteous and safe Austin driver? No. The Cutie Pie Wagon was OPEN. And not sold out of ANYFLAVOR! Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles. I finally had the opportunity to try the pies I’ve been looking to get my grubby little hands on for quite some time now. And fortune was again on my side in that I had exactly $ 4.00 in my pocket. However, this meant that I could only try one pie(Cutie Pie is cash only). I chose the Buttermilk, due to the note that it was declared the«3rd Best Pie in the South» by Pies Monthly or some such publication. The other flavors on offer — Texas Pecan, Chocolate Brownie, Berry, Lemon, and some I can’t remember — sounded tempting and I probably would have tried more if cards were accepted. But who can pass up a pie with national recognition? The Buttermilk pie was DELICIOUS. Creamy with a bit of a nutty flavor, and a delicious crust. It was also the perfect size for me to indulge without feeling like a bloated elephant. I overheard the owner explaining her process to another customer — she makes everything from scratch, and has clearly put a lot of work into selling her product. If you’re in the mood for pie, I encourage you to seek out these delicious creations. A homemade dessert sans fake chemicals and mass production is always a winner in my book.

Mmmm… coconut cream pie. It was creamy and coconutty all mixed together — exactly what I was after. The crust was tasty and this was just what I wanted in the middle of a Friday afternoon on SoCo. I’d love to go back and try the Buttermilk but Cutie Pie herself recommended the coconut cream that day so I couldn’t pass it up. Cash only.

I had a delicious pecan pie over the weekend. Unfortunately, it took 3 trips by the food trucks to catch them when the wagon was open… and when we got there, many of the pie options were sold-out(and they’d JUST opened). I suspect a lazy(or overworked) owner, but who knows! Would have loved to love this place — definitely a case of a 5-star review that was theirs to lose. :(

Yeah, she’s fantastic. I’ve been by a couple times now. I have been meaning to check out the storefront up north that she just opened! Anyhow, the pies are great. I’ve had the Bumbleberry and White Chocolate Coconut Pecan. Both were good, but I preferred the Buttermilk pie over either! It’s sweet and faintly peppery. Nutmeg? SHEWILLSELLOUT. So call ahead and try having what you want reserved before you come. You may get lucky!

everytime I try to come here, the pies are sold out! This past sunday I was in for a treat! They had buttermilk pies in stock! Not only was it gooey, creamy, soft and rich tasting but the flake isn’t overwhelming! Thin and flaky so you can focus on the«insides» of the pie itself. Since they were so little you can also eat like 3 and feel normal. :) Can’t wait to get more!

Seriously? I have yet to write a review for Cutie Pie? I’m shocked. I love this place. Before we even get to the pies, let’s talk about how nice they are. I think by my second visit, Jaynie(the pie queen herself) had already remembered my name and what we talked about the last time I stopped by. I’m horrible with names, so I was surprised she even remembered me at all. She has an infectiously positive attitude every time I’ve stopped by, and is genuinely happy to talk to people. She really makes you like her and root for her. But what does that matter if the food’s no good? No need to worry about that. The mini pies here are absolutely fantastic. You can’t go wrong with anything that’s served here. Though, really, do yourself a favor and get the buttermilk on your first time over. There’s a reason that this pie has won awards and become a signature creation. It’s a family recipe, and it will redefine how you think of buttermilk pies. From the crust to the filling to the crisped top, it’s just awesome. In a few weeks, Cutie Pie’s moving to an actual storefront with her own kitchen and everything. She’s said that she’s expanding her offerings, and I’m just thrilled. Granted, she won’t be as close to me, but driving up to Burnet will be worth it, and it’s thrilling to watch a great local business succeed. Catch her while you can on SoCo, but follow her when she moves to Burnet. I honestly think that this is the next première sweetspot. At least she won’t be in the shadows of the, frankly, inferior Hey Cupcake anymore.

Best dessert in town with the nicest owner in the world! This place is where I go to when I need a dessert fix for my sweet tooth from hell, or when I happen to be on South Congress. Although you can’t go wrong with any of the pies, the buttermilk is my absolute favorite and I highly recommend it. The individual pies are the right size and at a good price. I hate going there with friends because I never want to share. If I had to only have one dessert place for the rest of my life, Cutie Pie Wagon would be it!

What do you get a close friend for their US citizenship party? — Why, an Apple pie of course! I called and asked for an Apple pie to give to my friend Kejda on the occasion of becoming a US citizen and this little wagon delivered. — It was excellent and I consider myself somewhat of a pie snob. — Love pie. Give it a try. Note: If you want full pies, call ahead because I’m pretty sure she doesn’t sell anything but 4 dollar single servings on a walk up basis.

Went back today — 45 degrees and rain. We’re excited about pie and we’re almost drooling going there(and this is after we just knocked out 3 Gourdoughs). 2:00pm — We get there and see a small sign that said«Lunch Break. back @ 2:10» Bummer. But since we only have 10 minutes to wait, kids & I decide to walk back to our car parked couple of blocks away so we don’t have to wait in the rain. 2:15pm — leave car and walk back 2 blocks. Rain getting heavier. No one there, sign still up. Ok. Figure she’s running late b/c of rain, so we wait by the trailer. Anxiously waiting to get the pies. We wait… 2:20pm — rain getting heavy. Another customer comes by. He sees the sign. Looks at his watch then walks away. The guitarist set up between Cutie Pie and Hey Cupcake gets in his car b/c of cold & rain. Kids and I are are getting annoyed. Maybe where she went to eat is busy so she’s running 10 mins behind. We wait… and wait… 2:25pm — rain still heavy. We’re debating whether to keep waiting or leave. But we rarely come to this part of town so we decide to wait another 5 minutes. We are all getting old(at least we had umbrellas). I’m really annoyed. We wait… and wait… and wait… 2:30pm — rain still heavy. Ok, pies aren’t happening today. Disappointed, annoyed, and deflated, all three of us trot back to the car parked 2 blocks away. We wait… and wait… and wait… and leave… 2:35pm — rain still heavy. We drive by just in case. No one still there. No pies today. We wait… and wait… and wait… and leave… and drive by… and leave… I love their pie. I love the pie lady. But I hate it when people make promises and don’t deliver.

When you encounter mini-pies you expect crappy, half-hearted attempts at decent pie. But Cutie Pie punches your assumptions in the face and then drops an elbow on them WWE-style. The pies might be small, but they’re full of flavor and baked perfectly. You get the quality and flavor of a full size pie in a small, easy-to-take-with-you and affordable version! We’ve only had a couple items, the pecan pie and pecan chewy bars. Both were great, and I can’t wait to come back and try some more fruity versions.

I would pass Hey Cupcake for sure and use those calories on the Award Winning Buttermilk Pie from the Cutie Pie Wagon next door. It was mouth watering — FANTASTIC. I think it beat my grandma’s buttermilk pie and that is pretty hard to do, just sayin. My friend got the Very Berry Cherry Pie(or something like that) she was just as impressed by it. We sat on the bench outside the wagon and enjoyed the live music as well. Music and sugar — life doesn’t get much better than that.

Dear Cutie Pie Wagon Pie Women, Please marry me. You knocked me off my addiction to Hey Cupcake. You also talked me into try berry pie(while I typically am not a fan of berries). I know we don’t really know each other, but I think that is ok. It can be more of a business marriage, like Shina Twain and her former gay record producer husband, or Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. You can make pies and I will taste one of each every day to make sure they are up to your typical amazing standards. Actually we don’t need to be married to do this, just let me know what time in the morning I should be there everyday and I’ll get my pie bid and pie spoon ready. Thank you for your buttermilk pie. With a grumbling stomach, Me

Delicious, one-serving, homemade desserts. what more can one ask for? We went there with the intention of only getting one pie, but we thought, why get one when you get two? So we got the buttermilk and the fudge brownie pies and both did not at all disappoint. The fudge brownie pie, as it sounds, was a bit heavy while the buttermilk was light as air and delicious. The owner was very nice and had us try out the pies before we decided. I tried the key lime pie and as she likes to say, «it’ll pucker your sucker» and that’s really the best way to put it. Definitely stop by here if you feel like getting some pie without having to get a huge 8″ or 9″ pie. For about $ 4 a pie it is a bit steep but I would still go back for more. That’s how good it is!

Little Yolanda sat in a corner Eating her Bumble Berry Pie She stuck in her spoon and let out a swoon And said what a good girl am I. I’m all aboard the Cutie Pie Wagon and you should too. Let’s break it down. Accidentally came across this trailer Sunday night when I was on the hunt for fro yo which ended up relocating the reggae festival for the weekend. I think fate had this in store because then I came across the cutest little trailer decorated in colorful feather boas and the sweetest lady inside wearing a tiara which lights up. Ok ok, the sign free sample helped draw me in too. She told me all about her signature flavor, buttermilk pie which won best original pie contest in Austin at the Driskill and now they carry it on their dessert menu. One big spoonful later and I was a believer of why this amazing pie beat out all the others! The light creamy custard texture was flavored with vanilla and hint of cinnamon from what I can detect and tasted just like Christmas! Next came the fudge pie which was also spectacular. She had sold out of her Bumble Berry pie earlier which is loaded with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, black cherries and regular cherries. Did the wallet check and found no cash. Boo as that’s all they take. That’s ok, this southern girl has a one track mind and was bound and determine to get some pie ASAP. Tuesday, I was back cash in hand and ready to buy! The lady was so excited to see me as I kept my word to return pronto. If I wasn’t in love with this sweet lady, her cute little trailer, and buttermilk pie already, then the Bumble Berry would have changed it instantly!!! All of the berries were soft and perfectly intact instead of one hot gooey mess like cherry pie can be sometimes. Best of all she lets the berries make their own natural glaze from their juices instead of filling it with some nasty thick artificial dense crap from a bag in the store. Yay for soft flavorful pie crust too and convenient mini pie tin that each is served in. Ate half of each mini 6 inch pie yesterday and the rest just now to see how well the pastry kept in their container out of the fridge and think they taste just as fabulous as yesterday. Oh God, This trailer is going to be my temptation island and kill my diet. Se La Vie. And because I can’t resist. Everyone sing along… *snap fingers* Moving on up, to the S. Congress side, cause we finally got a piece of the piiiiiie *soulful run* Oh yeah.

Holy shizza minelli this place has wicked good pies. Tried the Apple Pie for starters — took a baby pie home for $ 5 — threw it in the microwave and topped it off with some Blue Bell and it was gone before I looked down from Jim’s awesome lovetoast to Pam. Going to try the Buttermilk next as this one has apparently won many awards and is sold by the Driskill where we like to go pee when we’re downtown. Also very freakin’ cool — was talking to the ‘pie queen’ in the trailer and mentioned loving me some banana pudding — now she’s going to make banana pudding pie with ‘nilla wafer crust. Oh God, I’m going to get fatter now.
