I tried this place with a delivery order, but was unimpressed with the sandwiches and, especially, the overcooked fries. This isn’t a repeat eatery for me!

I had the beer and didn’t actually have a burger(GASP). But, overall I was glad I came here and their $ 3 beer was good to sip on and lounge out and take in the history of the«90 year old» restaurant.

Hands down the best burger in town!!! Amazing food and even better service. Everytime I come in I kick myself for not coming more often. If you have a burger craving this is the place to go!!! And every time I come I think it actually gets better! P. S. they have wine on tap!!!

I don’t know Martin, or how he got his nickname, so I can only speculate. I do know that his place makes a pretty good burger. This place is typical of an older burger joint near a college campus. It has indoor and outdoor seating. They have TV’s all around and visible in most seating areas. The only thing I have had here are the burgers and as I said, they are pretty good. The fries are nice and crispy, good flavor and onion rings are also tasty. I do wish they used real cheese instead of fake cheese single, but you can order it without. It is trimmings were all fresh and the service was really good. I had«Gertie» this last time and she took great care of us, friendly, fast and just a great server — thanks Gertie.

Not the worst burger I’ve ever had, but I wouldn’t put it close to the best either. This place is a «hole in the wall» style restaurant, which has its place in the charm factor. The burgers are, for the most part, very basic, nothing special and no real«wow» factor to them. If you’re in the area and craving a burger, go here before going to a fast food chain. If you’re in the area and want to say you’ve been to a local classic, go here. If you’re in the area and what to go to a place that’s been around since 1929(I believe that’s the right year, definitely the 20’s sometime), then go here. However, if you are looking for a burger that’s going to knock your socks off and leaving you talking nonstop about it for months on end, go somewhere else.

Let me start off this review by saying that the food was by no means bad. It was well prepared but a tad bit overpriced for what you’re getting. The main reason of this review is to highlight the extremely poor service. Especially a waitress named Angela. She was extremely slow for the duration of our meal. It took her 15 minutes just to bring us some sweet and lo. After the meal was over, she even messed up our checks. At that point, we just wanted to leave because we already spent 2 hours of our afternoon there. We realized that she was probably moving slow because we had a party over 7 and there was already an automatic gratuity. If you come here and get Angela, ask for another server unless you want to have your day ruined.

The food was good, atmosphere was nice. Our server was Angela. Angela was awful. She was slow and unresponsive and couldn’t even complete the simplest of tasks without being reminded multiple times. She got all of our orders wrong as well. I think we would have enjoyed the experience with a different waitress but Angela ruined it.

I started coming here in the early 70’s and still like to stop by for a nice greasy burger, the small OT special with fries. Reminds me of what an old fashion hamburger should be. Always satisfying.

Great place to get some greasy food. I’ve had their burgers, fried pickles and fries. All good, all good to mediocre. I don’t come often, but I’ve definitely been a couple of times. Would eat here again!

A little on the high side price wise. Service was good. Interior is old, but I guess that’s part of the charm. I had a chicken sandwich with avocado and Chipotle mayo. Onion rings were good.

Living just around the corner from Dirty Martin’s, it has always been my go-to place for fried pickles.(Trust me they’re amazing) However, tonight I was greatly disappointed with my experience. I ordered Cheese Tots, which with tax is around $ 6. For my $ 6 I received about 15 tater tots with a slice of partially melted Kraft cheese on top. I wish I could bold that, so I’ll reiterate, a slice of melted Kraft cheese was the cheese on these tots. In my opinion, a portion small enough to fit in my hand, that isn’t even using real cheese is not worth that amount of money. Next time I’ll be going next door to Whataburger where I can get an entire meal for the same amount of money.

It’s exactly what everyone says: it’s a greasy burger joint. It’s not that clean, it’s not that well organized, but it is tasty. We came here only because we took the kids to Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown today and at the bottom of the receipt it said«one free cheeseburger per tour.» We thought it was weird because this place is in Austin, but we called and the owner verified that you get a free cheeseburger for every tour bought(we had four of us, so four tours bought) so we were already headed to Austin and decided to go get our free burgers. Obviously now we know no one ever redeems these. The server looked at us like we were stupid and then tried to only give us one free burger when the receipt and the owner specifically said one burger per paid tour. After dropping $ 70 at Inner Space, I want the four free burgers lol. Finally got it fixed but service lacked because she realized we were couponers. Thing was we ordered other stuff and still left a decent tip; she still acted poorly though. Oh well: the burgers are good.

The place, especially for students, to get a great, nasty burger with excellent fries and at a low cost. I went here many times as a student and returned again to see if anything had changed. Nope! Just plant yourself down and order a burger all the way and don’t forget to get the stinky onions and some jalapeñoI s on the burger Visited November 2014

This place is the best classic burger in Austin. It’s transcendence. Burger, onion rings or fries And malt. There is no reason to reinvent the burger here. Also the device is great. Everyone has a good attitude and makes sure you got what you wanted. I did!

I normally don’t see myself coming back to many restaurants, but Dirty Martin’s is my exception. The burgers are one of the best I’ve had. The bread is greasy, the meat is flavorful, and it’s overall just one of the tastiest burgers I’ve had. They’re a little small, but nonetheless amazing. Everything is reasonably priced. I haven’t tried many of their things but that’s okay because the burger is all I’ve wanted. The fries and milkshakes are also must-tries. Also, the restaurant itself is adorable and historical. Five stars for the amazingly greasy burger(and the cute waiter).

Never been here before and I honestly heard about it through some friends. I’m a burger junkie so I got suggestions for places I have never been and this place came up. I had the Small O.T. And I feel it was amazing. Service came fast, food was hot and delicious and seriously felt home made. I’d totally recommend this place!

Greasy spoon? Umm… Greasy EVERYTHING! Chili cheeseburger is seriously good. Not too heavy, but oh so tasty! Their home made potato chips are really good, especially with chili and cheese. Do not come to this place for health food(although there ARE salads on the menu). Come here to get a taste of an Austin original that has not been ruined over the years. Free parking is also nice.

Dirty’s is the best greasy spoon around. Period. Greasy, hot, cheesy, messy burgers.(O.T. Special for the win!) Crispy, not too salty onion rings. WOAH delicious corn nuggets. Standard fried pickles(meh). Thick and delicious sweet potato fries.(I wish they had a nice chipotle sauce to go with the fries…) Solid service. Every time. Seat yourself, loosen your belt, and get ready for an Austin classic.

I’ve been here several times and I’ve also tried several other burger joints around town. By far this is always my favorite and each time I come back it is always reconfirmed. Now there are different types of burgers out there so dont get me wrong. If your looking to compare this to Hopdoddy’s it’s a totally different style. I would call it maybe like an old time diner burger style??? I always get the small OT(pretty much a bacon cheeseburger). The burger is pretty greasy but you can definitely taste the flavors of the 88 year old grill. Chili Queso Fries — skinny fries drenched in thin Queso and chili. Im usually picky about fries being super crisp but being that these are drenched in goodness it doesn’t really matter. Shiner pitcher — all that needs mentioning is that the glasses came frosted straight from the freezer

Burgergasm. Gooey, buttery, cheesy, beefy, grilled oniony, yummy burgergasm. And seasoned fries. And they’ve been around for like a million years. You need to support Dirty Martin’s Place. Cause if you don’t, you’re just stupid.
