This place is awesome! They’ve fireman #4 on tap, and many others! The feeling is amazing! It’s that Austin feel to it. A actual occasional position, as you can come in almost anything you happen to be wearing. It reminds me of what a real European Pub might be like, comfy, up close and personal, and tons of yummy beer to be had.

Hubby’s mind was blown by craft brew selection. I wasn’t a fan of the dirty interior bar smell. A man bar in my opinion.

Free pizza! Home brewed good! A million beers on tap! Yes, a million! These are few of the qualities which make this pub so wonderful. The pub layout highlighted by the dark wood floors, seats, and table make this a cozy place to meet and really have the ability to have a dialogue over a delicious, frosty beer. If you like you can drink out on the picnic tables or in your tailgate in the parking lot. My favourite pub in Austin.

This place is practically transported from Germany. Lots of beer and an outside beer garden. A good amount of taps and the customers seemed really friendly. Huge age range here too. Dog friendly also.

Bartender was a little crusty but I don’t really mind that. Some might though. Didn’t smell anything bad as others have said. Smelled like a dive bar but that is what it is supposed to smell like. Outdoor area was big enough. Confortable. Had a wok and a grill going while we were there. Beer list is excellent.

Interesting place this one was. I’ve heard of it several times but until yesterday I never actually thought about stopping in, and it turns out the Thursday Special is $ 3 House Pints till 11pm! $ 3 bucks… SCORE! And no, we’re not talking about serving Natty Light or typical domestic light beers. I had a Shamrock Stout which is a dry stout at 5.1% and a Funkhouser another stout at 6.0%…and no, before you say anything I’m not a Beer Nerd or anything close. I just remembered these two beers because I got knocked on my ass after 4 rounds… LOL Overall, a very Chill & Cool place to go! Great outdoor patio with lots of tables and sitting. There is a food trailer serving cerviche but I did not partake. Parking is LIMITED and somewhat difficult to find. So why 4 Stars… well the interior of the bar smelled like a dank dive bar — reminding me of Red River area lol — and maybe that’s the way they like it(who am I to judge)…but after 5 minutes, I was thought, «Gimme my beer, I need fresh air!!» Haha. I will definitely go back and recommend it to my friends. Overall I had a good time there! The bartenders were very friendly and helpful when describing what to expect before each Pour.

I have been here several times with friends and coworkers. It’s a very relaxing environment and I love it. If you pass by and see a line it’s fine to stop by. It moves fast so you won’t wait in line longer than maybe 10 – 15 minutes. I recommend getting a pitcher so you don’t have to keep getting in line over and over. DON’T FORGETYOURID! They will card you like any decent pub should :-) Also I must say I love their new layout! It’s much nicer being outside under the trees and fence. Great idea! They have wifi which is great for anyone looking to study or work with a beer in hand :-) There is a dart board which is great fun, a jukebox, and a food truck does swing by since they do not sell food. Overall I love this place. PS It’s pronounced«draft» not«drought». Trust me.

They have one of the on-tap best beer selections in town. I love the atmosphere, inside and out. No sportsballers clammering on boob-tubes, just quality conversation at levels that don’t make your throat sore. Almost every time I go, I end up chatting with soon-to-be-ex-strangers. Plus, it’s dog and family friendly. Double-plus-good! Here’s something unexpected: I love that they don’t do their own food. The first time I was there, a man with a grill was offering brats or to cook what you bring for whatever you would like to pay. The next time, a mobile steakhouse, next, a pizza truck… all delicious. I walk or bike there, but if you must drive, be prepared to park a step or two away and walk in. Picnic tables are plentiful, but parking is scant, exactly as it should be!

Draught House is reliable in the best way. Sure, in Austin, you can’t throw a rock without hitting a bar that offers a great beer selection, but Draught House just seems a little special. Before, when you could actually park in the parking lot, finding a place to sit(or stand) could be a little difficult. You could tailgate, but not everybody had the foresight to bring their own chairs. Now, they’ve closed off the parking lot and added in a ton more seating. Excellent! Now, finding a place to sit(or stand) is much easier. Sure, Draught House is usually busy, but I haven’t had to awkwardly stand around since the addition of new seating. Waiting in line for beer isn’t always the most fun, but you have to time it right. There’s some kind of hive mind that happens, where everyone lines up for beer at once. Give it a few minutes and then the line dies down significantly. Now’s your chance! The selection here is always changing and Draught House even brews some of their own beers. I’ve had a few Draught House brews and they’ve all been good, so if you don’t know what to get, try one of theirs. They usually have a decent selection of ciders, too, for the non-beer fans. In fact, Draught House is usually the place where I get to try the most diverse ciders. Tuesday is probably my favorite day to visit. For starters, it’s $ 3 pint day.(Not on every beer, mind you, but several of them.) The next best thing? No trivia. Lately, I’ve found that I seem to go out for beers on Tuesday nights and every week, I forget that it is trivia night. Apparently every bar in this town has to host some sort of trivia and, while trivia can be fun, it’s a frikkin’ Tuesday and I just want to relax and have a beer. I know this is very«get off my lawn,» but I hate the loud noises and how crowded places get and it makes me wish trivia would just go away. I know that everyone and their mom likes trivia and it’s a great way to drum up business on a week night… but I am an old woman living in a young woman’s body and I like things to be decently quiet.(Honestly, though, I just get overstimulated and then I desperately need to get out of that environment before I have some kind of anxiety attack, because living with anxiety is fun!) So Draught House not having trivia is AMAZING because it means that if I happen to want beers on a Tuesday, there’s a place for me to hang out. The food trucks here are also pretty solid. I think I’ve eaten at three or four of them now? Quality Seafood is great(and also there on Tuesdays!) and the ALC truck was good, too.(I got fish and chips at both and, while different, they were both really good. Added bonus? They both give you a ton of food.) I’ve never had difficulty finding parking along the street and, sure, sometimes the bartenders are gruff, but I don’t need them to kiss my ass while pouring my beer. There’s always some kind of special going on and they didn’t even care that we set up a game of Catan the other night. They have two dart boards that, for some reason, I have never used, so I need to change that on my next visit. The bathroom is usually clean and I’ve never had any issues with that, either. What more could you want in a bar?

I had almost forgotten I had been here before until I showed up and the whole Shakespearean thing reminded me of my last experience here. This place would not be great during a storm, but during the summer and warmer times the outdoor area is fantastic for enjoying a fresh brew from the extensive tap list Draught House holds. During Austin Beer Week, they had most Austin /TX beers for $ 3. Yes that’s right … $ 3. !!! Amazing! After 5pm on most nights there’s a guy grilling sausages(and whatever else you feel like asking him to grill if you bring it yourself) for donations only. The sausages are deeeeelicious and he has plenty of sides to go with it. What a fantastic little pub.

Lots and lots and lots of different draft beer?! YUM! Usually, I don’t drink beer, but whatever I had had me on a good buzz off of one beer. Sucks that I don’t remember the name of the beer, I just know that it was a light beer. They have a list of beers on the screen to choose from and the bar guys let you try a sip of whatever beers you want to try or what they recommend for you. It’s a small little pub, really dark inside, there were great friendly people, and I would totally come back again.

This is definitely the best thing about Austin. Tangent alert: We’d heard such great things about Austin, and this one place fit the bill. However, I feel like Austin is a cool place if you’ve never been to cool places before. Anyway, I’d come to this joint all the time if I could. Relaxed atmo, good beer at good prices, free food for the masses. What’s not to love? If I am ever in town again, I may set up a tent outside and only hang here.

Draft House is pretty great. It’s in a weird part of Austin for me. I can never quite get back there without running a stop light or missing a turn due to overgrown street signs. The bar is an awesome old house. White plaster and dark wood braces. It’s awesome. Vines growing. Dim, but effective lighting. Quaint, cozy? One of those overused words that pops up too much, but you use it again regardless. The inside has been nicely turned into a bar that takes up almost the entire back wall of the home. Up top, above the bar, are several large flat screens displaying the beer selection. The hardware for the taps gleams from the above lighting. The inside seating is mostly old, wooden tables that people having furiously carved into so many times that most of it is unintelligible. The varnish is worn off in places. Cut out in others. Still manages to maintain the old home feeling. The patio is incredible. Picnic tables. Standing areas. Rope lighting. This has got to be one of the best outdoor bar areas around. If the weather is even mildly tolerable, I’d rather be sitting out there.

Great place to kick back with some friends and solve all of the world’s problems over a delicious pint. There are so many choices here that they’re bound to have one of your favorites, or in my most recent case, my new favorite. I’m not a «it’s fall so everything has to be pumpkin» guy, but the Dogfish punkin ale is fantastic. It’s not too sweet, which is nice, and it has a familiar fall spice flavor that just tastes really nice. It also packs a punch, so you don’t need to have many, which is economical. The place has a great pub feel on the inside and a kind of bier garten feel on the outside. They have different food trucks on different evenings, if you get hungry. The bartenders are cool and they know their beers. If you know what type of beer you like but don’t see it on the boards, just ask them for a suggestion. Great place, especially with the cooler fall weather coming.

I think the beer selection is great and the bartenders are always super helpful and knowledgeable about the different beers. They also have this strawberry cider that claimed my man card. EDIT: no more strawberry cider but I would like to mention they have really awesome house beers!

It’s definitely a cool venue… ample outdoor seating, dog-friendly, a great beer selection and reasonable prices. Parking is surprisingly ample with an adjacent lot. But we were surprised at how dirty it was! There was a vague smell of diarrhea in the air near the bar… well, replace the word«vague» with«pungent». My first glass of beer had lipstick all over the rim. And I was wading in a pool of urine in the men’s bathroom. Maybe it was just an off-night, but this was right up there with Casino El Camino in terms of grossness. Luckily there was enough cool about the outside of this place to offset the filth and keep us around for multiple drinks at the picnic tables.

Beer Stop 112 —— I was at another overpriced beer bar, Hopfields, but quickly finished up my overpriced beer to make it here for Pint night. First of all, the outdoor atmosphere is really nice. I don’t comprehend some of the complaints, but oh well. Anyway, Draught House reminds me of my favorite beer bar in San Diego, O’Briens Irish Pub. Both are pet friendly, rustic, and have tons character. The service was very friendly. One of the bartenders took the time to answer my question about the good local beer available for $ 3 bucks. Great deal! I ended up tryingmany TX beers I couldn’t get back in San Diego. The night ended up being a wild ride and I barely made my flight the next morning. I can’t wait to come back to Austin and come here again. Even if it isn’t Pint Night!

Nine million excellent beers to be sure. I am going to place myself in the extreme minority with the rest of my review — but I am going to do it anyway. I do not understand the Draught House Pub Cult. I especially do not understand why sitting in a parking lot — or worse still — standing in a parking lot — is considered to be wonderful ambience. It is not like Austin is lacking bars with ambience. There are a zillion places with wonderful rooms to sit in. There are magical atmospheric bars with grace and charm where the beer fog can take you to a happy place. Some people — not me — want to drink their beer outdoors. (I guess this way the mosquitoes can get the beer in their blood while it is still fresh.) If you have to drink your beer outdoors, you can still do better than the Draught House Pub. You can watch the sunset over Lake Travis and drink, or look at Town Lake and the bats and drink. What’s so great about standing on the edge of Medical Parkway looking at a dentist’s office on one side and medical supply stores on the other side? And yes the nine million beers are excellent — but there are other bars in Austin with long lists of really good beers. Some of them also have … whisky. Some of them even make cocktails! (And some I have heard — but I believe it is really true … some actually have … food …) But even if it is the beer only the beer and nothin but the beer … And you are a dedicated lover of sophisticated microbrews and want a vast array of excellent microbrews to choose from. do you still have to drink your microbrews in a parking lot?

Can’t get over how much I love Draught House. Despite their bartenders – who all seem pretty rough around the edges – I find myself coming back again and again.(Nothing against rough-around-the-edges bartenders – just something you typically find in less-friendly places like the Northeast). A different Austin food truck every night of the week(check their website for the list), dog friendly, and with a draught beer list that would impress even the most aficionado among us – you just can’t go wrong. They also now have super cool LED screens hanging over the bar with short but informative beer descriptions/tasting notes. They’ve recently re-configured their outdoor seating area, adding more picnic tables(and in the process, putting them in long rows). It’s highly unlikely that you’re going to want to sit inside(super dark wood, a tad smelly), but know that it’s almost always pretty packed outside – so strategize with sending a member of your group early to snag a table(or send a pawn while others wait in line for beer). Speaking of groups — this place is ideal for a group gathering not only because of the seating, but bc you can easily avoid the awkward«splitting the bill» situation as everyone can get their own beer/food(no table service here). Lastly, the prices are truly reasonable for the types and quality of beer they’re serving. Bring games, bring a birthday cake, bring the pups. You’ll want to come back again and again.

As good as it gets. Don’t tell anyone. A real beer platz with more seating outside than in. Plenty of beers, laid back people, bikers(I.e., bicycles), moms, workers, walkers, professors and students, and a very neighborhood feel within minutes of Central Market. Familiar and fun. Come visit and be nice: this is community,
