If you’ve never been, please do so. Really good chicken and sides. Also, make sure you get that chile verde… Best chicken for the buck! For 7 $ you get half a chicken, rice, beans and some tortilla. Oh they also throw in half of an onion grilled. For $ 13, its a whole chicken. Really freaking good flavor on the entire chicken — even the white meat is tasty! This location is cash only. if you only have a card, go to their Stassney location, they take cards and also serve more dishes. The chicken tastes the same from both location.

Yes, its still El Regio and it’s in a trailer parked in the parking lot of Pleasant Valley Market on the corner of Stassney and Pleasant Valley in Southeast Austin. Beautifully browned, juicy, fragrant, and tender rotisserie chicken with slightly crispy skin. It is served with a huge vat of green hot salsa to DIE for, a whole juicy lime, cut-up, a whole grilled onion, a stack of tortillas, rice and beans all for $ 7 for a half a chicken. Rice was good. Beans good, but a little too much bacon fat. When I went there at lunchtime, I was the only customer. It was soooo good. I have heard people talk about other locations, but this location is nearest to where I work and it looks like it has remained undiscovered by Unilocal. It was a delicious lunch and I think I have enough left over for dinner, seriously.
