Two words, overpriced crap. I’m thinking I will just go clean out my grandmothers house and put price tags on everything and start my own used furniture store. You can get any of the items found here at Goodwill for a third of the price. Yes, it is locally owned, small business, good for you but you’re prices were ridiculous.

I’m surprised this place doesn’t get more attention, I highly recommend it! If you’re looking for used furniture at a reasonable price this is the place to go. I moved to Austin about a week ago with two other people and for the past couple days we’ve been searching high and low for a place like this with some odds and ends to complete our apartment. Before visiting Far Out we visited over 15 other thrift/antique stores that either had a very limited furniture selection or were WAY overpriced. This store fit our needs perfectly and had a huge variety of furniture/lamps/rugs/knick-knacks/etc. We ended up getting a couple of bar stools and a side table but we can’t wait to come back in the future to see what else they have available. The people who were working here were not overbearing at all and were more than happy to give us a deal since we were buying multiple things.

It’s true that I miss their old location but now they have franken– furniture(ask to see it) that’s super funky and mattresses. I have to say that they really try to help you out by modifying or changing something on a piece so that it works for you. Employees are friendly and fun to talk to. Just hope they don’t overprice thee stuff like other re-sale stores in town

This place is pretty cool! There’s some junk, yes, but also some really really weird and awesome stuff. On my first visit, I scored a gorgeous, ancient looking tri-fold mirror that sits on my vanity, as well as an industrial looking desk lamp. On my second visit, I asked for help finding a worn-in, intricate Oriental rug, and the girl working there brought be to a secret stash of rugs in a truck outside, where she showed me the rug of my DREAMS! It was crazy cheap, too, cheaper and better than anything on craigslist. And they let me put it on hold for a couple days. The employees I’ve talked to are super friendly and helpful. I like to think of this as the poor man’s Uncommon Objects. Which is a great thing!
