I’m always satisfied with my take out order. I love the island friend rice a little brown and a little spicy. On there busy days/hours delivery can take up to 1.5hrs. :(

I admit it. I like Americanized Chinese food. And for a good variety of quality Americanized Chinese food, you can’t go wrong with Golden Wok. The menu contains all of the classics, which are executed well and at fair prices. There’s a separate menu with some more authentic Asian dishes and dim sum options as well, if that’s your preference. Extra bonus points for having chili oil at the table.

I used to order once in a while couple things like mango chicken and pad Thai. Taste good. The 2 reasons I don’t want to go back: not clean and slow discouraged service.

This was always my go to place for dim sum. Then one trip I was chewing and bit something hard that tasted like metal. I discovered a staple in my dim sum! I let my server know and she brought the manager over. She was very uncaring and not apologetic. It was as if I had done something wrong! She asked«what you want me to make you another?» I looked at her like she was crazy. Why on earth would I want another? Especially when she was treating me like I was a jerk for discovering the staple? You’ll never see me in here again, which is sad bc the food was good. 2 stars instead of one bc I did like the food.

Food is always fresh and consistently good. Ask for the carta chifa for some Peruvian Chinese goodness. We are regulars here and love it for dim sum and authentic Chinese food!

Convenient that they serve dim sum all the time. However, I found a bug in my bok choy. When we notified the manager she said it was an accident and it’s because bok choy is hard to clean. I am Asian and I too cook bok choy and I always make sure I thoroughly clean it because I KNOW they are hard to clean. If you are a restaurant, I would expect that you clean your food/ingredients properly being that it is in fact your business. Her«excuse”/“explanation» was unprofessional.

I love this place, especially their lunch special. I always get their shrimp stir fry with brown rice. It comes with egg roll, soup and tea for just $ 7.29! This place is clean and the food is fresh! The dimsum is alright, not much variety.

Golden Wok has been a longtime favorite of mine. They have a good staple of Asian classic dishes, a make your own stir fry bar, excellent dim sum selection, and a great location. This place is usually busy, but the wait times are reasonable. They also deliver to a limited area, I’m sad that I’m not in it.

This is our go to spot when we are craving dim sum. I love picking dim sum off carts. They have a pretty wide selection of items. Everything is pretty good. I have a feeling they douse the food with msg though because after eating here it never fails I need to take a 2 hour nap.

This place has really gone downhill since the last time we were there. The food is now very inconsistent and the restaurant itself looked run down the last time we went there. The carpet was soaking wet and there were fans set up all over the right side of the restaurant last time we went. It is a pretty large dining area, so it was pretty odd that they chose to seat us in the area that had wet carpeting. I also noticed there was only one other table occupied despite it being peak dim sum hours on a Saturday!

Great food. Waitress was very attentive. My wife had the wonton soup and I had the house wonton soup. Both were delicious. Tried the«create your own stir fry» and was impressed. We have had a lot of Mongolian and this was just as good. I highly recommend this place. Saw a several families there and the local police came in to eat. Guess this is a safe place also(lol).

In my opinion I think this dim sum is a great quality and price when you look at where you are. This restaurant is in Texas Yll! You can’t bash a place for not being Hong Kong quality or California quality when this restaurant is in central Texas. There aren’t many dim sum places in Austin and this place serves it all day, anytime everyday! Their Peruvian style Chinese food, is what it sounds like it’s Chinese food with a twist, it’s not ceviche. Their regular menu is Americanized Chinese food, which is really good; if you are not bashing it for not being like PF changs or it’s not«Chinese» enough, it is good! I read a review down below where someone said they are mad their server isn’t Chinese?!? I believe last time I check employment laws, they can’t just turn down every non Chinese person that is qualify and willing to work? That is so wrong to say! I’ve been coming here for years and also been going to their locations in San Antonio. This is a good place to eat! Portions are big and prices are good. Even if you compare it to a Panda Express bowl you get double the food for the same price!

Stopped by here Saturday night before closing and each ordered soup(1) hot & sour and 2) wonton soup — also tons of green onions also without noting that it will be on top. WE split an order of Mongolian Beef. Delicious. I’d come back for sure.

Came here to check out the dimsum so this review is based on that only. It’s not too bad at all and I like how their items weren’t too salty like some places. One thing that’s probably just me being picky, is that the servers weren’t the usual Chinese dimsum servers I’m used to at dimsum places. This was only a problem because there are some items I order that I don’t really know the english names of, but it was easy enough just pointing to it on a menu instead. Pricing is slightly higher compared to other dimsum places, but the food quality is good.

tldr: dim sum is decent, everything else not so much. I come here for dim sum as part of a Chinese group social sometimes. The dim sum here is… acceptable. It’s not Houston quality, and there are better places here, but the taste is more or less close to how things are supposed to taste, and it’s in a nice area with good décor if that kind of stuff is important to you. The dim sum is the reason this place is three stars instead of two, because the non-dim-sum stuff that I’ve tried getting for lunch during work days has been super lackluster. I’ve given this place three tries; once on a beef and broccoli lunch special, once on what I believe was a fried shrimp special, once on a pan fried egg noodle*. As a rule, the meats and vegetables lacked flavor, and in the case of the pan fried egg noodle, it was not crunchy at all. *before you give me crap about«oh, I just got the Americanized stuff», keep in mind that 1. this place doesn’t exactly have red-braised pork belly or 避风塘炒蟹 and 2. I’m a Chinese native and have probably pooped out more Chinese food in a year than you’ve eaten in your life

Overall… not bad. I went in for a dim sum lunch and ordered my favorites. The prices are reasonable and the service was prompt and friendly. The Dim Sum was acceptable — not great — but satisfies the craving. However my ultimate favorite has always been the fluffy steamed bbq pork buns — and these aren’t quite right. The meat was sweet with out flavor and the bun tastes of… chemicals? Wouldn’t surprise me if they aren’t made in house, which is a shame. Would I go back… yeah — it’s close by and meets my needs. Would I rave about it? No.

Dim Sum time!!! Yes, yes, it is not the best dim sum but it is one of the few dim sum Austin has to offer! Haha, with that said, if you would like to eat some dim sum then go to this restaurant on Sun from 11 – 2:30pm and they will have the carts go around the restaurant. You can pick and choose what you want or they can order it for you from the kitchen. I specifically liked their pork, shrimp and fish shumai, rice soup and breaded crab. Their prices are reasonable. Restaurant looks clean all the time and the servers are very helpful.
