I had an excellent experience with Chandler @ Helzberg Diamonds in the highland mall. I am now engaged and was searching everywhere for the perfect engagement ring for my fiancé. I finally stumbled in to Helzberg and was provided service and care no other jeweler provided me with. When I wasn’t sure if I wanted a ring from another jeweler or Helzberg, Chandler came with me so I can compare the rings side by side. The end result was that the Radiant Cut was ten times better then the competition. Plus the pricing was very competitive. I ended up with a 1.34 ct. round brilliant cut, color h, clarity SI2 for under 7k. I would recommend anyone to at least go see what they have to offer.

With my anniversary nearing I knew it was time to walk into another Jewelry Store. The last time I had been in one was when I bought my wife an engagement ring. I thought picking out an engagement ring would be exciting, but it made me completely uncomfortable, and I always felt guilty for feeling that way. Well, a year later and the feeling came right back as soon as I set foot in a jewelry store. I don’t like Jewelry stores. I don’t know if its the lighting, or the pushy salesman with all the gold jewelry, or the feeling of having absolutly no idea what you’re doing. Am I buying a piece of junk? Is this sales person feeding me a bunch of crap? Its a very un-nerving process. As far as price is concerned, the item I wanted was all over the board. At some stores it was 100 dollars, at other stores is was 1,500 dollars. What was the difference? I have no freakin’ idea. They all looked exactly the same to me, so I came up with a new philosophy… buy the best looking one, regardless of price, or what the salesperson tells you. This new outlook led me to Helzberg Diamonds. Helzberg Diamonds is exactly the same as every other jewelry store I’ve been into. The sales people look the same, the layout is the same and the selection is the same(about 5 nice items among a bunch of tacky gold crosses, rings, and other«Dallas» type jewelry). Here is the problem with Jewelry, the old sales guy with gold rings and watches(about two steps away from being a pimp) that is in every jewelry store in America is the same guy who designs the pieces. Helzberg Diamonds happened to have the best looking piece I was looking for, but I wouldn’t say that’s true for all of their pieces. I was a little frustrated that the lady helping me told me that they would NOT send me promotions via e-mail, well, guess what? I’ve gotten about 3 emails since last week. Also, the store seems to like the color Maroon. Let me tell you about Maroon, my 1988 Buick I drove in high school had Maroon interior, if that gives you any idea how outdated it is. I would have liked to give her a jewelry box that was a little more classy. Overall, Helzberg Diamonds was a fine place to buy some jewelry, but I don’t think they are any better then other mall jewelry stores. Go if you find yourself in Highland Mall, and looking for some jewelry.
