Jennifer West, Makeup Artist

Jennifer did my hair and makeup for my engagement, bridal shoot and wedding day as well as my bridesmaids makeup/​hair and family makeup for the wedding. She made me look like myself but more striking. My makeup stayed relatively fresh in balmy October weather, freezing March windy evenings and a sweltering June finale.
I’d definitely say that her specialty is makeup, but she is able to do hair and hair that will stick where she sprays it. She’s detailed, funny and kind and made me feel like a million bucks before and after each appointment/​photo session. She also leaves you with a touch-​up kit for the day of your wedding. Best of all, she’s a neat freak (in a good way) and really makes sure that nothing is cross-​contaminated — important when working with multiple clients and parties.

ME: I’m worried.
HIM: (Gives me that UH OH, what’s wrong now? look) What’s wrong?
ME: What if I’m not beautiful on our wedding day?
HIM: You’re crazy.
ME: Pft! Look at my fat head!
HIM: You’re being stupid.
[Silent treatment ensues. I hate when he says I’m being stupid. I’m smart damnit!]
Fast forward to Fall ’08.
Enter: Jennifer West.
It was love at first (web)-sight (ing). [Did I mention I’m lame too?]
I really liked her portfolio, and I liked that she offered both hair and makeup services. Initially, Jennifer told me that she was already booked on my wedding day, but after a little groveling (and a few well-​thought-​out compliments), Jennifer conceded and said she could fit me in.
[Yay for brown-​nosing skills!]
The moment I met Jennifer, I knew that she was the ONE. Not only was she super sweet and nice, she was extremely professional, knowledgable, and passionate about her work.
Fast-​forward to my wedding day (last weekend):
Amidst the chaos and frenzy of wedding-​mania, Jennifer, poised and kind as ever, put to rest my worries. She transformed me into a non-​fat head; I’d even say I was attractive! I’ll send you photos if you don’t believe me. [my ego likes being stroked]
At the altar, I remember looking into HIS eyes and seeing the love and pride in them, and thinking,
THANK YOU JENNIFER! You rock!
