Fast and fresh every single time. Perfect for whenever I’m in a rush. The staff is very friendly.

I’m a fan of JJ’s chain and have been for quite a few years. While I wish they would branch out into hot subs(I do enjoy a great meatball marinara), they have stuck to what they do best and their ‘Vito’ and ‘Big John’ are magnificent sandwiches. So far I’ve found this location to have decent customer service and speed. I’m surprised at some of the negative comments on this location, which could be due to a) opening month staff glitches and b) stupid reviewers. Yes, as much as I love Unilocal you have to wonder about people who give a place 1 star WITHOUTHAVINGEATENTHERE. This place gets a 4 on the ‘CTJ Scale’ as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing on after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

What’s good: — they deliver and it’s usually fast — the beach club — it’s not Subway — it’s not Quiznos What could be better: — pepsi products

Sorry some of you had bad experience, but i have lived in Lakeway for six years and this place rocks! Staff was very friendly. When I mentioned this was my first time they made a couple of suggestions that were very helpful. Sandwiches were fast, like 3 or 4 minutes. All in all I have had much worse experiences in Lakeway. These guys deserve a shot from Lakeway!

The sandwiches are OK, but JJ’s exercises stupid business practices: I ordered a club sandwich that comes with turkey & ham. I didn’t want the ham, so I asked for double turkey. They charged me for double turkey –and the ham that I did not get!!! I was told«we do not substitute meats on sandwiches.» Ridiculous. I had my last JJ’s. Meat substitution is not«Rocket Science.»

Got hungry after getting a hair cut next door. Went to JJ. This place is your standard commercial sub shop catering to those who don’t care about what they ingest; cheap carbs and preservative, found on every street corner in America. No wonder it was seemingly filled with high school kids. Com’on Lakeway, you could have done better with a local(e.g. Torchy’s) tenant.

I would love to try it but they won’t deliver to me bc I live 2.1 miles away from the place and you have to be within a 2 mile radius. I mean we aren’t in downtown Austin where it would make sense to have delivery for a 2 mile radius. It’s frustrating to even advertise delivery and after I do the lengthy registration to then find out I’m .1 mile outside the radius that you can’t deliver to me. It might not be a big deal but this made me not want to even try it if I drive to that area Thundercloud is where I’ll eat.

The sandwiches are good, but not good enough to get over the horrible customer service. I’ve been twice and not sure if it will get a third shot from me. Both times, I was not greeted in a friendly manner, much more condescending, entitled and arrogant attitudes by the kids working behind the counter, acting like it was putting them out to take orders rather than hang out with their friends. It made me feel very uncomfortable. When I asked questions about the menu, they were just jerks, can’t think of another word. Not sure who did the hiring, but they need to invest in a customer service course or your employees only shot at waiting tables is at Dick’s Last Resort where they’re paid to be rude(is that even still around?)… It was interested to hear from many others that they had the same feeling after visiting the restaurant. Very disappointing b/c we like JJ’s, but there are many other options for sandwiches out here where the customer service is MUCH better.

Nothing quite highlights the difference between north and south quite like the speed of the Jimmy Johns sandwich makers. In the Midwest where JJ is from, your sandwich comes to you before you finish paying, in the South/Southwest, it comes to you sometime long after that. Subs are so fast I freak, I’m just super annoyed it is soooooo slow. It isn’t hard… Cut bread, scoop mayo, tomatoes, portion cheese, portion meat, lettuce, wrap, throw, done… Should take 10 seconds. They don’t even throw them here. WTF? This JJ tends to screw up orders and their delivery area is far smaller than everyone else who delivers in Lakeway.
