I was arrested in March of 2015 and charged with DWI first offense. I contacted Charlie’s office and was dealt with very professionally. They walked me through what I could expect due to this and were there every step of the way. This included representing me at the license revocation hearing (I declined the breathalyzer so a 6 month revocation was mandatory), through the process of obtaining an occupational license and at all court hearings related to the case. Through Charlie’s efforts and good fortune the DWI charge was dismissed and I was charged with only open container instead.

I received a rather surprising notice yesterday morning informing me that a family member had been arrested on a felony charge and was being held in Travis County Jail. This is not a scenario I’m familiar with — so began the adventure.
I researched the three primary options for getting my relative released:
* «Cash bond» was prohibitively large.
* The «surety bond» option — through a bondsman — looked too complicated (read: sketchy) to me.
* I decided to pursue the «personal bond» option, which meant I needed to find a criminal defense attorney to work on my relative’s release.

Oddly enough, my research brought me to Unilocal.I carefully pored over reviews for several Austin criminal defense attorneys, and looked at the websites for my two finalists. Charlie Roadman’s site was simple, clean, and easy for me to figure out the right thing to do to initiate contact for jail release. That was that.
I hired Charlie Roadman yesterday. My relative’s bond was approved this afternoon, after Charlie presented the request to three different judges. Even if my relative’s release had failed, I was generally satisfied with the experience for two different reasons:
1. Charlie and his staff calmly and professionally explained the situation, the steps they intended to take, and what to expect. They called me several times yesterday and today to keep me posted on progress. I stayed out of the way, didn’t bug them, and had faith they’d do their job. They certainly did.
2. The potential outcomes for my relative (including the possibility that I could pay the attorney fee, a good faith effort could be made to secure his release, and it could still fail) were explained to me in an honest and straightforward way. I did not feel there was any nonsense in our communications or any part of our engagement. Charlie worked on the problem and provided me with the facts at regular intervals.

If you’re reading this review, I do not envy the position you are in that brought you here. Choose the right criminal defense attorney and increase your odds of a positive outcome. Based on my specific experience over the last two days, I recommend Charlie Roadman’s office.

I had cause to use Charlie’s services in 2012 and 2013, and can’t say enough about how positive the experience was. My matter was an alleged DUI, for which Charlie was able to deliver an amazing result involving the dropping of all charges. Notwithstanding that it wouldn’t be possible to obtain a better result, I question how many attorneys would be able to get to that point at all.
As others have said, Charlie runs his office as a lean team, which provides significant cost benefits for his clients. In the end, I exited the process feeling very fairly charged, and well looked-​after throughout. I have a great deal of experience in dealing with lawyers in commercial practice, but none in dealing with criminal lawyers, so was hugely apprehensive at first. I need not have been; Charlie’s expertise and demeanor gave me a great sense of confidence throughout.
Simply put, I recommend Charlie without reservation. He is a truly spectacular legal professional.

Charlie and his team are amazing. They made an unpleasant experience bearable, if not positive. The knowledge base you get with Charlie & Co. is vast and they make sure to explain everything clearly (next steps, potential outcomes, associated court costs, where/​how to complete required tasks, etc). I have used Charlie twice now, and I must say both times he helped us get the best possible outcome. He does not overcharge for his work like a lot of other lawyers do. He also would take time on a weekend or late night to answer emails, texts, or phone calls to make sure we had our questions answered.
