Wow. Stopped here out of desperation because we were starving and passing by. Seemed odd that a convenience store had such high ratings, but now I completely understand why. The breakfast tacos were so good we ended up stopping again for lunch on the way home. The green homemade sauce was outstanding and our sandwiches were delicious!!! Not to mention the amazing selection of beer including Jester King bottles. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If I’m ever back in Austin, I’ll go out of my way just to come back here!

This place is really cool. They have a wide variety of sodas, beers, candy and dry goods that you won’t find elsewhere. You probably don’t desire exotic soda daily but you can get it here! Also – I was looking for something that stood out, I saw an Icehaus ice cream sandwich that looked beautiful and OMGosh… it was AMAZING! It took me 3 days to finish, it was so awesome, over $ 5 for an ice cream sandwich is a bit much but you get what you pay for!

Great funky spot in South Austin. They have great selection of beers… amazing breakfast tacos and sandwiches. I like to order my sandwiches over the phone and pick them up because it is a bit slow due to the lunch crowd, but definitely worth it! My favorite is the Reuben! On weekends and nights, they turn the music up real loud and jam out, so be prepared if running in to grab something. This is a South Austin gem! Prices may be a bit high but it’s better than a 7⁄11 any day!

I get breakfast tacos here wayyyyyy more often than I should because they’re so delicious. Great beer and wine selection. Great staff. I love this place. With all the new spots going up around town, Live Oak Market has a vibe of the Austin I grew up in… that’s a very good thing.

Wow is the beer overpriced in this place. Actually everything is overpriced and the area is currently overrun with vagrants. Had trouble parking because the parking lot was crowded with homeless people.

This is a whole different animal, this corner store. I fell for this place from the first visit. It’s fabulous. I’m not from Austin but I visit regularly. I always shed a slight tear when I leave town and see Live Oak Market in my rearview mirror. I wish they had a place like this where I live: A converted convenience store that sells legitimate, quality food, great coffee, tacos, sandwiches and so much more. It’s a brilliant concept that makes eating healthy food convenient, something that a lot of people struggle with. They have a real grill right behind the counter and prepare food right there. All this in the space of a standard 7-Eleven. Service is oh-so-friendly and the quality of everything is great. The facility is clean and they’ve got a huge selection of everything, including beers, wines, and exotic sodas, ginger ales, root beers, etc. They have a personal items section with a wide array of natural toiletries in case you run out of aluminum free deodorant or patchouli oil(I’m talking to you, hippie!). Smokers, they have every pack of organic, natural, exotic cigarette you can imagine and a variety of smoking essentials. My personal favorite tid-bit: It’s smack dab in the parking lot of a Randall’s store(in your face, regular grocery store!). Seriously, though, I love this because it’s a nice enough Randall’s so if, by some odd chance, there’s something you can’t get here, there’s an option nearby and that particular Randall’s is not the worst one around. Co-locating is a good thing in this case. There are chairs and tables out front and there are plenty of places to park a bike with a reasonable level of security(and being able to see it), very important for me. I love this place. I love, love, love this place. Live Oak Market should be the model for similar stores and, when you’re ready to bring your concept elsewhere, I’ll be your first customer.

It’s unfair to call Live Oak Market a convenience store. The diverse craft beer selection is top shelf. As evidenced by the locally produced bison and quail sausage, the menagerie of high end snacks is top shelf. The staff is top shelf. The music is top shelf. Nora Jones and the Clancy Brothers in the span of 10 minutes? And the food… The sandwiches are top shelf. There are about a dozen to choose from and they’re all made to order. Seriously, why go to Subway when you can get a Cubano with fresh, top shelf ingredients for less than the cost of a footlong. Sure, Live Oak Market is convenient, but it’s orders of magnitude more refined than a garden variety 7 – 11. Plus, it’s locally owned and operated.

Awesome delicious sandwiches! I’m hooked on the El Cubano! It’s so yummy. I’ve also had the turkey basil bacon-also yummy! I need to try the others lol but I bet they are just as tasty.

I think someone is likely being asked to write reviews because this has an overall four stars… And in Austin where there’s a lot of good breakfast tacos, these are subpar. I got a cold store bought flour tortilla with eggs and canned black beans and cold shredded cheese. The salsa was good though.

Om nom nom nom!!! That’s all I have to say about their fresh tacos and salsa! I stop in here for breakfast on my way to work and usually end up picking up enough for the whole office. They approve too! On my way home, I grab a six pack — because they have an intense selection of local brews. I mean intense! All of their snackies are usually somewhat healthyish for you; gluten free, organic, local, all that stuff pretentious Austinites love.

Live Oak definitely has a few of my favorite things inside of it, so let me explain. This is not your average convenient store. You may find the prices might be a bit higher, but you will also notice the quality of the products in the store. They have have an awesome grill that makes some pretty delicious sandwiches! The first time I came here way back when was my friend wanted me to try the Cuban sandwich … wow … I loved it so much and then continued to stop in here continually. I have also had the Reuben and the Turkey Basil Bacon, which are both spectacular as well. Another reason they are my favorite place is the selection of craft beers. Not only do they have craft beer, but they carry all kinds of specialty drinks, which sometimes I am in the mood for. I also love the desserts I find in this store. At the front counter they have these locally made coconut macaroons that are half covered in chocolate… mmm. Also at the font they have Full English millionaire bars usually … these may seem expensive but are worth every penny … simply the best thing ever! Plus they are made local a few blocks away at the Full English Café. More of my favorites in here are the ice cream selections, soaps, chocolate and popcorn! How can you not love a place as awesome as this? … Live Oak Market is unique and I will continue to be a loyal customer.

Not your average cornerstore… The three best things about Live Oak Market? The cuban sandwich, cool haus ice cream sandwiches, and the eclectic selection of stuff they offer. Man that Cuban sandwich… only time in my life I have driven to a cornerstore for a sandwich, They have too many cool and unique snacks/drinks/food here to list, so I’ll just list some of the words that differentiate their inventory from other cornerstores: organic, fair trade, imported, rare, unique, interesting, unexpected. Just come here and browse around for 20 minutes. I guarantee you will find something that you will buy. And while their stuff is pretty much all great, they are a little pricey. So that is the only reason why this is not a 5 star review. But man $ 6.99 for the best cuban sandwich I’ve had? That’s a great deal. Come get some!

I cant believe i have NOT reviewed this gem of a store yet. I am at Live Oak Market at least 3 – 4 times a week and on occasion hit them twice for a hot coffee and dee-lish breakfast taco(trust me you WANTSALSA) then again in the evening to nab a cold cider to take home. All you Paleo people, they have the best cider selection in South Austin. They have the most random yet amazing selection of everything from Kombucha to beer to chips to jerky. They support local and carry several things made and produced right here in Austin. The staff is friendly and eager to help or suggest things for you to try in addition to filling requests and suggestions on items they should stock. Oh… and the soundtrack! Always the best JAMS at Live Oak Market. One Monday morning they were rockin out to Rammstein and the next day playing Selena then Stevie Wonder. The music is all over the map but always killer. Any given day you can see at least 2 people singing along to whatever is playing.

This place is pretty awesome, though pricey. But hey, that’s what you get with a corner store, right? What makes them so awesome, you ask? Well, simply put its the selection. The literally have it all. Everything any hipster could ever want. Even gluten-free burritos in the freezer section. No, I’m not kidding. They have ALL the sodas. They have ALL the cigarettes. They have ALL the chocolate. And the people that work there are all very sweet. I actually stop by there when I indulge in the occasional cigarette, because they have the most delicious ones. And if you’re going to kill yourself, it might as well be gourmet. Seriously though, their selection is better than the Randall’s right beside them. Its also much quicker to get in and out comparatively. So do yourself a favor and just go in Live Oak Market if you only need a few things. Or if you’re looking for the special vice.

This is NOT your typical convenient store. While the typical place will have Cheetos and Dr. Pepper’s, this store has a lot of things you can’t even find on the Whole Foods shelves, like local pie cookies or sweet shredded coconut balls(not their official name, but they are delicious and found by the register). Not only do they have a great selection of snacks like kale chips, every kind of protein/power bar, and great selections of kombuchas and juices, but they also have a great wine and beer selection, including the new gluten-free beer, Omission, AND they serve tacos and sandwiches made to order! By far, one of the best, if not the best, local convenient stores I have ever had the pleasure of going to. The staff is always kind and courteous. And their selection is like non other.

In addition to having every kind of organic and or local snack/meal/bevie you could want(read every other review), it should be noted they have every single kind of chocolate imaginable. Bacon chocolate? You betcha. Chocolate with crystallized ginger? Yup. Chocolate with toffee and pretzels? Yes sirree. It’s not the chocolate section at Whole Foods, but it’s damn near close. I’m new to the area and only pulled in here twice, both times in a bit of an «emergency» situation.(Yes, bacon chocolate — or rather, the lack thereof — is in fact a life or death situation.) Both times Live Oak came through. I look forward to going back when I have a bit more time to wonder and drool.

From the outside, Live Oak doesn’t seem very fancy on the outside. But it doesn’t matter because this is one of the stores which have unique flair to it. It’s almost as if you don’t have to have a fancy exterior. Live Oak is a convenience store where they sell organic food and products, campy drinks(I dare anyone to drink the Ranch soda), a good selection of beer and wine, and good sandwiches made to order. I was on my way to class I swore I could have started grocery shopping. But first, food before I head to class. I bought the bacon, turkey and basil sandwich which was good and satisfying. If I didn’t have somewhere to go, I would have sat outside. If anyone lives close to this area, I would be constantly shopping there almost every week.

Great place to start before a full day of drinking :) This place was on the way to 512 brewery from the hotel I was staying. For the price you can’t beat what you get. I can’t say they were amazing or anything different from other breakfast tacos I have had in the past though. For a two bucks a piece you can get three or four tacos and leave with a full tummy for sure. The coffee was pretty good too. Don’t expect this place to win any foodie flavor awards but if you are in the area and need something decently quick to eat for a great price this is your spot. I do not suggest the Cubano though. The pork they used did not taste right to me. Couldn’t tell exactly what it was but it just didn’t taste right. Go get the tacos and try a few different combinations for a hot, quick, filling meal.
