Seriously, there are no words. When you order a veggie burger at just after 2am, you know you are putting your hands in someone’s hands. So, you reiterate at least twice that you want mustard instead of mayo. Swiss cheese because American cheese isn’t real cheese. It’s 2am, and you just need some veggie burger goodness. And then you get home and realize why that burger was more expensive than you’d thought it might be. Why? BECAUSEIT’S A F*CKINGDOUBLEMEATBACONBURGERWITHNOCHEESEANDHOLYSH*T TONSOF F*CKINGMAYO!!! Seriously? Go f*ck yourself. I love you guys, and there are plenty of reasons to have this happen, except when I reiterate it multiple times. And what do I do now? Drive back there? F*ck no. What’s the best they can offer? MAYBE they’ll get my order right? They sure as heck aren’t going to deliver the proper food to me, which is the absolute very least they could do right now in my current state of mind. If it were any combination of screwup, it would be ever so slightly less offensive. But DOUBLEMEATBACONNOCHEESEEXTRAMAYO instead of VEGGIEBURGERWITHCHEESEANDNOMAYO is in no way even edible for me. And now, I’m stuck at home and have nothing better to do than take a goddamn sledgehammer to this stupid burger.

Well made burgers that were ready quickly. The burgers are pretty small, but are offered at a low price. Would definitely come again!

We just moved to Austin and this was our first time at P.Terrys. The fries are amazing, the best I’ve had to be honest. My husband ordered the double cheeseburger and I had the chicken burger. Both were delicious, the patties well seasoned and I like the fact that you can add onions, pickles and jalapeños. We also had chocolate milkshakes which were pretty good too. Prices are very reasonable and portions are well sized. We went on a Sunday afternoon and service was top notch.

No vegan options here except the fries. The veggie burgers have at least eggs in them, and probably cow milk. They actually make vegan burgers and have these for sale retail in the freezer sections at Whole Foods and HEB, but if you’re at either of those places you have a wealth of vegan burger options already. I have read some of P. Terry’s responses about their presence of retail vegan burger but not available drive-through, but I still hope they get this message and update their menu. Why not sell both veggie and vegan burgers at the drive-through?

The best fast food hamburgers. I also love that it is Austin local. I stop here quite often for breakfast as well. Place is very reasonable priced and always fast and friendly.

Ordered two burgers — one double bacon cheeseburger for my boyfriend and a veggie burger for myself, and get home to find that they gave me two regular cheeseburgers. All this, after the woman at the window acted annoyed when I asked her to repeat my order back to me because she was talking way too fast. You suck, P Terry’s.

Best veggie burgers at a fast food chain. Fries used to be great a few years ago but they are below average now.

One day, there were no breakfast potatoes at 7:20am… P. Terry’s, you let me down. I rely on this location for breakfast on my way to work some mornings. At least there was coffee and egg burgers, which(with the potatoes) make for an awesome breakfast. EDIT: soon after leaving this review, a manager contacted me and sent me a gift card to make up for my breakfast! Totally rad, thanks!

P Terry’s sells a very delicious(and cheap!) veggie burger. Seriously one of the best veggie patties I’ve ever had. It’s so good, even my omnivore friends choose to order it and go meatless for a meal. The combo is only $ 6.90 and comes with fries, burger, and soda. Their burgers are small, but their fries are not. I didn’t like their fries too much. They are thin, so they get soggy and cold easily. I didn’t finish mine. This location is drive thru only. There’s no seating available at all. But there are about 8 parking spots if you want to sit in your car and eat. If you are looking for a place to sit down and eat nearby try The Village which is about 5 minutes away(has epoch coffee and alamo drafthouse in it). There is plenty of outside seating located behind epoch coffee. That area is also within a gorgeous garden.

This location literally took 30 – 45 seconds after completing my order and pulling past the speaker to get my food last night around 9pm. Granted, there is not much to making a burger but if you frequent this restaurant enough you will know that is not always the case. Friendly staff as usual and the food always tastes great and fresh for a fraction of the price you would spend elsewhere. P Terrys wins again!

Have you ever ate THE best berger ever? I am. So unfortionately they don’t take 100′$ which is why my step son paid with his Wells Fargo. My wife is glucose free(it’s in here Gene’s). Anyhoo they wrap your Patty around lettuce for you with no buns. She like that. The employee couldn’t tell me it wasnt glucose free but my wife says it is. They should trane nutricion for future refrense. My wife helped her ex lose a lot of weight before. He still don’t eat buns she said accordingly. Special sauce is my step sons favrite he loves the tang. I told him it was cuz dills pickles that are sour. Mayb Mr. Terry’s has some secret in his sleeve but how My wife hasnt let me eat buns at home in years so treat myself(and stepson). Thanks Terry!

Never trust someone who doesn’t like P. Terry’s. Every time I come here, I’m wondering«they have to screw up my order eventually, right?». But, NO. They pretty much never screw up my order. The double cheeseburger is insanely good and pure. I don’t feel bad after eating it like I do with Jack in the Box or McDonalds. The strawberry shake is so freaking good. It has a little bit of malt added to it which just takes it to a whole ‘nother level.

I keep trying this joint because I trust the quality of the meat, but they’re doing setups. They keep the bottom bun, lettuce and tomato in the fridge and add the meat/top bun to order. You end up with a burger that’s hot on one side and ice cold on the other. Not good. I’ve experienced this all 5 times I’ve been to this location, all different times of day. I think I’m probably done trying.

In the continuing quest to explore the Austin burger scene we FINALLY got to this famous institution. We have heard many locals talk about how good P. Terry’s is, even(gasp!) saying it is better than In N Out. If you have read any of our other reviews you are well aware of our stance on In N Out. However we are happy to report that P. Terry’s is a very serviceable option. We hit up one of the drive through only options which ended up going very quick, We both opted for a cheeseburger meal, one with a caramel milk shake. The burger tastes like a very solid fast food burger. The cheese isn’t melted which was the only turn off for us both. The special sauce is a nice addition even if it is likely mayo based. One order of fries would have been plenty for us to share, two was overwhelming, especially since they are so tasty. The caramel milkshake was excellent, such a good treat on a hot day. Overall, at least for us, it still doesn’t surpass In N Out but if ever around one, we wouldn’t hesitate to try PT’s again

This is my favorite place to get burgers by far! They have great fast service, hot, fresh food, real beef, it’s just amazing. And its so conveniently located, so I can just go there for dinner after guitar lessons at school of rock. Ohh and they serve breakfast too! I would highly recommend going here any time.

When my wife wants fries, she gets fries. And we live on the other side of town(on the East Side in the new Mueller development). So I gave it a little test-run when she wanted a late afternoon snack… travel directly across town on the well-worn 38th to the North Lamar location or give this new guy a shot and swing up Research, cutting down Burnet? I’m always up for an adventure. We were awarded a line of… wait for it: 0 cars. We were In and Out… well, poor wordage. We were through the line in no time, and home with our fries… err actually, we had no fries to spare. They were eaten in the car. All that to say. P. Terry’s cranks out some superb fries, cheap prices, and this location provides less traffic, to boot. Have you ever wondered what P. Terry’s fries would run at a gastropub? $ 5 for Happy Hour? $ 7 as a side dish?

Why go anywhere else for a fast food burger? P. Terry’s is local, uses quality ingredients and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for it. Their fries are decent and burgers solid. Great shakes and cute architecture. Thankfully, they’ve spread all across town, so there’s a P. Terry’s pretty much anywhere you might want one. I don’t often get fast food burgers, but if I do it’s P. Terry’s all the way.

Mmmmm P. Terry’s! My treat after work. My go to is the chicken burger on wheat. It is always hot and fresh and just so good. The wheat bun is 20 cents extra and is a touch sweeter than their regular bun but it’s worth it. Fries at this location are always seasoned well and their shakes… Mmmmm sometimes I just go for a shake to take on the ride home. Caramel shake for the win! Drive through is always fast(which is good because it’s the only option!). Stop in when driving north on Burnet!

The veggie one just doesn’t cut the mustard for me, even though I know many people that just love a PT Veggie burger… The staff here is wonderful!!! Nuff Said!

You’ve let me down, P. Terry’s. Upon occasion, I love nothing more than one of your delectable veggie burgers. I’ve enjoyed the food and service at the South Lamar, North Lamar, and Ben White outposts. Unfortunately, that enjoyment came to a screeching halt at the new Burnet location. The building looks cool, but the way the drive-thru is configured is maddening. You’re at risk of getting t-boned as you pull out of the drive-thru lane or t-boning someone else as you enter from the busy street. Plus, if the first car leaving the premises wants to turn left onto Burnet, forget about it. You’ll be sitting for days. And holding up the drive-thru line. Onto the food. Bleh. I stopped by the first week they were open for my fave veggie burger. Instead I received a wholly unappetizing, dried-out, cold-in-spots, clumpy bean patty. I chalked it up to store growing pains and returned a month later. Because of my previous experience, I opted for a double cheeseburger with no tomato. Nothing else. Easy order, right? I was charged for the higher-priced item, but received a single burger with tomato. Wha? When I realized their mistake, I couldn’t double-back because I was headed to a meeting. Instead, I submitted a message via their website. Never received any response. As much as I’m rooting for good, local restaurants on the northern Burnet corridor, I don’t think this P. Terry’s is going to cut it.

I was excited to see yet another PTerrys in the vicinity of my apt, so I was looking forward to inducting the new Burnet PT’s into my PTerry’s rotation. Sadly, I think this was a one-time affair. Firstly, they have the absolute worst drive-thru setup EVER! The entrance you come off of Burnet takes you right in front of the exiting cars of the drive-through window line, and it is kind of a blind corner, so the novelty«STOP» sign they have for departing drive-thru window cars does little good if you happen to be pulling in even if the exiting car makes an actual full stop. Then, you have to make this weird clockwise approach to the speaker and for some reason the turning curve is at an odd angle because even in my spry Honda Civic, I still couldn’t clear the turning radius to the speaker. If you make it through that mess… hazzah! I was then greeted by a surprisingly long wait. I don’t know what the hold up was, but even at its busiest the N MoPac location is never that long. But, I was willing to overlook all that because I love me some PTerrys; the burgers, fries, and cookies are what keep me coming back again and again, even after they jacked up their prices(I used to pay $ 6.56 for a #2 combo and a cookie, it is now $ 7.22) because they are that good… until I came to this location. My burger(which is just a cheeseburger w/sauce) looked like someone had smooshed it almost flat and barely had any sauce on it. The fries were grossly overcooked to the point where when attempting to bite into a couple I was surprised I didn’t crack a tooth and my cookie was hard, like it had been sitting out awhile. I can’t express how disappointed and let down I felt by my first(and now only) experience here because this location is on my way along my routes to many of my regular haunts that I was so looking forward to being able to stop and grab my PT’s enroute. Instead, I will never be coming back to this location because I do not want to get into a car wreck coming into or out of the drive-thru(seriously, this is a drive-thru only location and they couldn’t think of a more functional design?) and I don’t want to drop my hard earned cash on subpar grub. I always come to PT’s vs McDs Whataburger or Wendys because of the quality, so I was just heartbroken that it was non-existent here. I have literally been to every PTs location in Austin, but I am sad to say I will be adding this to the list of locations I will not longer visit(the others are the N. Lamar because my car has been hit twice in their chaotic parking lot and S Lamar because they do not have Diet Dr. Pepper.

How great it is to have a good burger joint down the road from my place! Granted, P. Terry’s isn’t the best burger you’re going to have. I’ve seen a lot of blogs saying it’s one of the best in Austin. It’s not. But these are the same online writers who say Whataburger is incredibly incredible, when it’s just okay… but I digress. Anywho, despite not being the best, it’s a pretty good burger, and decently-priced. Most of their items are one size. No small, medium, and large here. That both works in your favor, and kind of doesn’t. The burgers can be a little on the small side, depending on how much of an appetite you come with. The fries are a buck 69, I think, and those are pretty good portions. As for the fries’ taste, they range from«meh» to «different, but good» for me. They’re a little bland. I prefer a good standalone fry, sans ketchup, so I can soak in all the flavor. Despite not really being a fries and ketchup kind of gal, I fully support that pairing when it comes to these. The service is pretty good. The staff is always friendly, and the line usually moves in a timely fashion. Oh, that’s another thing: this is a drive-thru/walk-up only spot. If you want to come here for lunch and sit down and eat, you’re out of luck. There are no tables, and the parking is very limited. All in all, though, P. Terry’s is certainly a step above the usual fast food fare up and down Burnet Road. Do yourself a favor, and give them a try. You’ll likely be a repeat customer.

Oh, my beloved P. Terry’s! Thank you so much for opening a new location so close to my house, and for being wonderful as always. I’m on a strict diet right now where I can’t have bread and while In-n-Out failed completely when I tried to get a burger the way I needed to adhere to my diet(to where I couldn’t even eat it and my husband almost had a panic attack in the process of ordering) y’all took my order like it was no big deal and it was perfect. So for you paleo, or gluten free folks, you can totally get a burger here«protein style» on lettuce instead of a bun. And they did it better than I’ve ever had it before by wrapping the burger in a nice big piece of lettuce instead of two — way better for holding sauces and toppings and easier to eat, FYI. It’s my new favorite bunless burger. I’m sorry I cheated on you with In-n-Out, P. Terry’s, but I’ve seen the error in my ways. Best burgers(way less greasy), best customer service and super friendly folks. And by my house! And once I’m off my crazy diet, ROOTBEERSHAKES, y’all. And their fries are the best, too. Lesson learned: EATLOCAL!
