This place is no longer there. Drove by this morning.

Bummed =(. I was there on Saturday and enjoyed my pasteries. Returned on Wednesday and they were closed, plastic bags on window/door. Went back this afternoon, same thing. Owner of the nail store next door said they closed and that the nail salon would be leasing the space to expand their business. Not sure if the bakery relocated or completely closed, but for now I’m disappointed.

Such a simple summary for a simple place. Close to home. Fresh pastries and bread(bolillo). Price is in between steep and cheap. Bought some bolillo for some soup I made at home and ended up with too much. BAM turn that into some awesome tortas with some leftover chicken and guacamole. Great place and super friendly service. It’s even better when you know when the fresh hot bread is coming out of the oven. Smells like delicious.

Really good pan dulces! The conchas are particularly good and the apple empanadas are the best I’ve had in Austin.

This bakery makes you feel like you’ve walked into Mexico when you go in. The bread, the smell, the freshness mmmmm. Plus there no expensive at all! Their really nice with whatever questions you have and you can buy all you want. You’ll definitely be back for more. So if you have friends coming from north U.S.A and you want then to try authentic Mexican pastry then definitely hit this place up.

This bakery reminds me exactly of going back to Mexico and visiting my family there. Anyone who has been to a bakery, especially in Mexico, knows exactly what I am talking about. The environment,(not gonna lie, sometimes I’m a sucker for the mexican music), the way they display their bread in cases. I love that I can grab my plate, tongs, and go to town by picking whatever I want. I went a couple of times at night purposefully when they were rolling out fresh baked pan de huevo. The best ever! It is not only tasty, but the outside has a nice soft crunch sound to it, while the inside is warm and moist. MMM! The downside? It is a little on the pricier side, at around 7 pieces of bread(I got two pan de huevos, 4 churros, one campechana) was about $ 8 – 10 if I remember correctly. Everyone has to try this bakery at least once.

Great little bakery I have been going to for some months. Seems really undiscovered, but have really good Mexican sweet bread. They seem to be expanding their items too, but they are really fresh and tasty

This is a new Mexican bakery over on Riverside. There is a strip mall that has been totally revamped. It is very clean and like chuys bakery where you take a tray and some tongs and go around and get the items you want. I got a strawberry empanada and a cheese empanada. I also got a very dense cake ball with sugar on the outside and a raspberry filling. The empanadas were delicious. The ball was really good but fell apart easily. It was also on the large side. They don’t speak hardly any English. In fact the girl working the counter said in what Spanish I could understand that the only word she knew in English was«work». Yikes. The sign says that they are all $.65 but I got all three for $ 1.50! This is definitely a different alternative from donuts for me to get for the office.
