Got dragged in by a friend a couple of days ago around 4 pmish. None of the dipshits who used to be here every afternoon were in, so that was nice. And the new(to me, at least) daytime bartender Marie seems pretty cool. Fast service with a smile, and apparently she’d heard of me as I was asked if I was the chick«who went out with Sara the other night,» referring to a mutual friend, but was nice anyhow. :D Not too smoky this early since it wasn’t crowded, but I’m not sure how it may get during pool league nights.

I’d been here before but shied away due to the smokey atmosphere. But now I just keep coming back! Bartender Tony is super friendly and attentive. I met Shelby yesterday and it solidified the bar for me! Yup, my new neighborhood bar. The pool tables are well kept, but the cue sticks are not in good shape, so bring your own if you’re competitive. Despite this, I have been blown away by the welcoming attitude and friendliness of the staff. If I had one more thumb I would give them three thumbs up! :)

Had a blast, got there early so it wasn’t crowded to begin with, good music and everything from pool to poker. Awesomeness!

I’ve been putting new cloth on their tables. When I explained how I do things different and work each table from the ground up, the manager Charlie was fine with paying for quality work. When cloth is stretched properly it not only performs better, but lasts longer too. In addition to new cloth Charlie is having me do their tips and clean balls on a regular basis. I’ve sorted all of the balls and pulled out any cheap balls and made all of the sets match(except some of the 8s but that will be fixed soon as we get them in). I sold them 6 new sets and gave Charlie one used set of Aramith balls polished like new. He cares about his customers, players and sport. I’m a blue collar guy who feels right at home at this neighborhood bar. It’s a smoking pool hall in more ways than one. Paul/CTB

This place is terrible. Usually I’m all for a low-key night, drinking beers, playing pool, darts etc. However, the bar staff at this Rack Daddy’s location is mediocre at best, especially Melissa. She told us she’d be right with us after we’d been waiting patiently 5 minutes and then proceeded to blatantly ignore us; taking someone else’s drink order that had just walked up instead of ours. I don’t know if it’s because I am a female with a group of men, or if it’s because the people that had walked up requesting drinks were regulars; either way it’s bad customer service. We wanted to leave but didn’t because we were waiting on one more missing member of our party to show up. We won’t be coming back. Thanks Melissa.

If you’re not a smoker you will not like this place. I went here with a buddy for poker night; I left smelling like an ashtray. Gross. Obviously I do not smoke. Will avoid at all cost.

This place has so much more it could offer. Unfortunately, it doesn t offer it. The alcohol selection is the smallest I ve ever seen. You have about 15 choices and don t ask them to make a specialty drink commonly found in a bar book. They don t know how or they simply don t have the selection. Beer, well the bucket idea is on the spot but the tap beer is not exactly frost-cold and it is often flat. I think they have 6 tap selections — nothing exotic and nothing that people really buy unless you re a Bud man. They have plenty of that. Pool tables are abundant however they have leagues every night and the league players are rude. The bar caters to the league players no doubt about it. They have a poker section which takes up all of the chairs that are regularly in front of the bar where 3 or 4 cocktail tables are. So if you re looking for a place to sit when there is poker, forget about it. The servers and bar tenders — no complaints there but it doesn t take a rocket scientist either to create a couple dozen drinks from the lack of selection. I want to commend the one female blond server though I cannot remember her name. She does seem to remember everyone and does her best. Poor thing probably doesn t make a ton of cash since the amenities are few. There is no food so don t ask. When I did ask, Tony(heavy set bald bartender) shook his head and walked away… nice. Getting back to the pool tables, the felt is horrible and slow. There are nicks or tears in many of the tables and a couple sit close to the leagues. The league players put their sticks on a couple of those tables and a table rests so close to a support beam and so close to the bathrooms that they are relative unusable. The house sticks are old and nothing flashy but since the place caters to the APA pool leaguers, I don t believe they care to do much about the house sticks. There is usually this petite New York sounding, black haired, lace wearing woman walking around… oh yah she walks around alright. In and out — seems like a rental if you ask those I ve been there with but for someone looking for a cheap piece of meat, that may be the one saving grace this place has going for it. Walk in, look around… I wasn t that impressed. Oh, did I mention they have had a help wanted sign on the front door the first time I went(about 2 months ago) and still have that same sign on the door. Hmm… that should say something. Even servers needing a job don t want to work there. Probably because the APA leaguers don t tip very well. Come in, look around and remember this review… don t tell me I didn t tell you so.

Racks on racks on rack Daddys is my home pool hall. I participate in 8-ball league here and have gotten to know and make friends with most of the regular patrons. League play occurs every weeknight. Avid pool players will enjoy the atmosphere, and the competitive environment will elevate one’s game. Everyone, including the staff, are very welcoming and fun to hang out with. The juke box plays a wide assortment of genres which the whole bar enjoys. You won’t get stuck listening to a particular genre of music for long. Drink prices are typical. The bar staff will regularly announce $ 3.50 shots throughout the night. One negative: The heavy smoke smell. Most regular patrons at Rack’s are heavy smokers(including myself). This can be a major problem for those wishing to maintain cardiovascular health.

I actually haven’t played pool here, but I stopped in one night for a few drinks at the bar. The waitress was friendly and the drinks were good. Prices were average. They allow smoking, which makes this place pretty much a no-go for me unfortunately. It seemed like a pretty chill place though. I’d probably recommend Rack Daddy’s to someone who just wanted to hang out, smoke, and shoot pool in a relaxed environment.

Nothing insanely special, but definitely a great place to go shoot a few games and relax. The jukebox is internet accessed. Great selection. The place gets CROWDED. Quite a few tournaments, and it seems like they’ve pretty much stuck a table in every possible spot. That’s an issue on occasion. For smokers, this is a haven. Places you can smoke inside are rare. I’m sure the non-smokers will throw a fit, but hey, it’s nice and convenient for smokers… and that’s a blessing. Overall, a nice little pool hall. Nothing super-special about it.

If you like to rackem up and walk home after having a couple cools ones… Rack Daddy’s is great place for Wells Branchians. Typical Pool Hall in a strip center but convenient.
