Cash only. These guys should get with the times. I know they get to avoid fees but that only benefits them.

I lovvvvveee the sno-balls here but there is a bit of lack of consistency between regular flavors and sugar-free flavors. For some reason the sugar-free flavor makes the ice lose that soft texture that I’ve had all the other times. Instead it becomes that… Run of the mill snow cone where it’s hard ice and tons of liquid syrup. But maybe it was a new girl working that day, who knows. The location on Unilocal is incorrect. The stand is in Barton Springs. ALSO don’t forget your cash because they don’t take card. But there is an ATM nearby.

Great snowballs! A little pricier than other snow cone places, but the portion is HUGE. The ice to syrup portion is(usually) perfect. I ordered a regular piña colada and it was uhhh-mazing. My next snow cone was a sugarfree cherry pom/strawberry kiwi… in this case, the texture was horrible and the syrup to ice ratio was BLECH. If you come here, skip the sugar-free! he ice is shaved finely enough that it sort of resembles Jim Jim’s smooth, icy texture. This place is CASHONLY though, so be prepared to bring in the green $$$$!! Small = $ 2.50, Medium = $ 3.50, Large = $ 4.50. Mediums can feed two people easily. Or one very hungry person!

Everytime I talked about Austin, one of my friends would RAVE about some sno-cone place and how I just HAD to go there. Okay, first of all, I don’t like sno-cones. It’s small chunks of ice with overly-sweet syrup that melts before you can even finish it all to become some nastified, syrupy juice in a paper cup. Secondly, sno-cones aren’t even that awesome enough to seek out in Austin when there are so many places to eat!!! So I went with said friend to Austin, and of course, we «had» to stop by this place. So random… just some ghetto sno-cone shack in front of Fiesta. OMG. Okay first off, the«ice» is really like snow. It’s shaved so thinly that it’s like a cloud in a cup. AND it doesn’t melt quickly! AND, there are SO many flavors to choose from(that aren’t too sweet/suguary/gross). AND!!! You can add cream to any flavor you get. OMG. It’s super-cheap, too. I’ve noticed that every time I go there, there are young, cute girls wearing tight or revealing clothing. I guess it’s to bring in the guys. I just come for the sno-cones! So now, whenever I go to Austin, I make sure to make a sno-cone stop :) Thanks friend for converting me.

How did I not know about this place??? I will likely be eating this at least once a week for the rest of the summer. Your life is not complete until you try this.

A lesser known location of Sno-Beach is located right in front of Fiesta, next to the booth with the hanging Persian rugs. It’s all the same great flavors and everything, right near 38 ½th St! Keep this Sno-Beach in mind now that the one on Barton Springs has mysteriously disappeared!
