Soma recently opened and is a swanky new downtown lounge. The bartenders are wonderful and always serve amazing drinks. Atmosphere is awesome: big, comfy velvet booths, chandeliers, and great music. If you’re looking for a fun new place downtown, I highly recommend Soma!

Open for a month now Soma Lounge is a classy cool new addition to 5th street.
What I love about the place — the gorgeous red velvet booths that face the dance floor (fabulous for people watching:)).
Greg my bartender was fantastic, held a great conversation, was polite & made me a mean Bulliet Kentucky Mule. Be sure to say hi to him when you stop in — he makes stiff & delicious cocktails.
Open Wed — Sunday & Happy Hours are on Wednesday & Sunday nights ($ 2 off drinks). Cocktails are reasonably priced — $ 8 specialty drinks, $ 5 beers & they even feature specialty shots… oh goodness, look out!
They plan to book live music here shortly but I think this place is going to be a wicked good dance spot because they have a spacious dance floor. It will be interesting to see if people do dance since it’s right by the entrance — but I know after a few tasty spritzers that won’t keep me away from breaking out a few dance moves, especially if the place is playing good beats. I stopped in on a quiet Wednesday night so I’m looking forward to coming back on a weekend night when the place is buzzing!
