Thomas Cheng – Keller Williams Realty

I was referred to Thomas through a friend of a friend and Thomas is a great real estate agent. We were looking to buy an investment property in Austin and were not located in the area. We had to rely heavily and Thomas to look at homes for us, take photos and give us his honest assessment. Thomas was very honest and direct in telling us what properties he recommended and which ones he didn’t. Thomas is very responsive and was a great resource in our home search. Thomas was great in being our advocate, with our limited knowledge of the Austin market we really needed someone looking out for us and telling us if homes were overpriced and trying to get the best deal for us. I would highly recommend Thomas to anyone looking for a real estate agent.

My daughter finally made enough money to live on her own and was looking for a rental home. She found a home she liked and it was listed with Mr. Cheng. This realtor stated certain repairs (rotted wood, carpet rips/​stains) would be made to the house. My daughter turned in her application, passed the credit check, and was accepted by the owner of the home. A few days later, Mr. Cheng said the repairs would not be made and made the statement, «What do you expect, it’s a rental house.» Then he tried to hard sell my daughter into signing a lease before the home was repaired, cleaned, or even vacated. Who wants to move into a home that has rotted wood and dirty carpet? Needless to say, my daughter withdrew her application and forfeited her fee. Then Mr. Cheng stated, «I don’t think you’re ready to move away from home.» Well, Mr. Cheng, two weeks later my daughter found her house thru a reputable realtor and signed the lease. By the way, the house my daughter tried to rent with Mr. Cheng is still up for rent and it’s been a month later. So, I guess my daughter made the right decision.
People need to remember some realtors don’t care about you or your needs. All they want is your money.

We bought our first home in Houston through Thomas. He had assisted our cousin to purchase a new home and we heard lot of good things about him. He even helped our cousin rent out his house to Miami Heat’s player. He is very professional and honest in his dealings. He also has the best connections. He is basically a go-​getter. I would search for homes online and leave the rest to Thomas. He would follow-​up, schedule appointment and provide me with updates. He also assisted me in finding houses and was not assertive in imposing his opinion. His dad works with him and he is a fine gentleman as well.
Our home buying experience was bit challenging. We started in off season with low volume of inventory homes and had lot of questions regarding location, size, builder etc which Thomas answered one by one. For things he needed clarification he got the answers from the builder. He is an excellent negotiator. At one point of time, there was a misunderstanding in the contract between us and the builder & Thomas stood up and committed to upgrades through his commission. He followed up with the builder, lender, contractor, inspector you name it. He worked as a personal assistant constantly trying to get us answers to our questions and looking out for us.
I definitely recommend Thomas Cheng to anyone looking for a home whether it is in Austin or Houston. He can make it happen, you just have to trust him.

Sold our first home and bought the second home with Thomas. Awesome guy, awesome real estate agent, knows his stuff, does not pressure you, gives you all the info upfront, very easy to work with, very flexible. We were looking for houses in areas at opposite ends of Austin, he had no issues coming up with houses in both areas that met our requirements and drove us around to show us the places. Great guy !

Thomas has very good knowledge of the Austin real estate market. I purchased my first home with him back in 2009, and he walked me through every step of the process. He was very responsive and on top of it, making sure we closed on time. Because I had such a great experience the first time, I decided to use him again to purchase a property in 2013. I had just started a new job so I could not take time off of work, but Thomas was able to assist me filtering out properties to match my needs, showing me properties after work hours, and working with the seller’s agent on getting the necessary items such as inspections and contractors scheduled. The experience was definitely very smooth, and I highly recommend him to my friends! He is very patient and flexible to work with. Unlike other agents, he does not pressure you or give off that impression that he needs to sell you something, and he gives very honest opinions of the real estate market and properties. I would go back to him for any properties in the near future.
