We got here around 2 – 3 pm and I was excited about trying the Cuban sandwich but they ran out of pulled pork. So I went with a chicken pesto instead, I guess I didn’t read the description in detail when ordering because I thought it was made with a toasted ciabatta bread and not a pita type bread. It was hot and freshly made but for me it was a little on the salty side and the chicken was dry and only moist because of the pesto sauce drenching the chicken. I think there was pepperoni in the sandwich that could have made it salty. I think the bread that the roast beef sandwich was made with would have been much better with my pesto chicken sandwich. The roast beef sandwich could have had a little more meat in it. The flavor was okay. The sandwich was seasoned so au jus sauce made it a bit salty so the sandwich didn’t really need to be dipped in it. I liked that they had scrabble and dominos available for their guest to use while dining there. For two combo meals it about $ 25 included chips and a fountain drink.

Don’t look too much into the 4 stars, this place has some«dam» good food. I asked the guy at the counter what is something I could have that was«not too heavy on the stomach». He recommended«The Stallion». I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so I’m just gonna say you gotta try this place out for yourself. My boyfriend got«The Cuban» and he’s a connoisseur so to speak of the Cuban sandwiches. We were told that this place has the best Cuban sandwiches, and we were not disappointed. I only give 4 stars I won’t say it’s the best, but that is personal opinion. I mean my boyfriend ate the whole thing without breathing so it’s pretty impressive. We’re sitting outside by the parking garage and there’s a nice breeze way and a ton of seating in the shade. Seating isn’t anything special inside or out. There’s old school board games to play or arcade games. The music is a bit loud so that’s my only thing, I want to hear what my boyfriend is saying when we’re trying to have a conversation. Being outside surprisingly is more relaxing despite the traffic. There’s a lot of plants and private spots to eat with privacy fencing. I mean the parking garage is an eyesore, but this is how the local is. I can’t say how easy it would be to find this place as you really need to look or you’ll miss it. All in all, no complaints! It’s Unilocal so I guess you have to be nit picky to get other’s opinions. I recommend everyone to try this place! There is another location down S. Lamar but this locale is closer to where we live.

So went here yesterday because my boyfriend who was at work wanted lunch. He wanted something different but good. I looked up on Unilocal sandwiches around me and this little hidden gem popped up. Walked in and was greeted by a very nice man. He guided me thru the menu and being my first time decided on the bambino. Holy hell awesomeness. Right choice! Took another one with me and my boyfriend has mentioned how good his sandwich was for like the 3rd time in 24 hrs. Lol will definitely be stopping by soon.

I was running an errand downtown on Christmas Eve and was happy to find that Toasties was open! Score! Knowing I was going to gorge myself the next few days, I decided to go light and get a turkey sandwich. First of all, I love the vibe here. It was a great place to hang out for a bit by myself and have a relaxing lunch. There was yummy looking beer — I didn’t partake, but good choices on tap. There were games on a shelf if you wanted to hang out after your meal and play. However, the sandwich was just okay. From the other reviews, I’m sure I just ordered the wrong thing, but as a connoisseur of turkey sandwiches all over(heh), it was decent but not the best. If I’m in the neighborhood again, I’d definitely return and give Toasties another try, and make sure I had enough time to chill out and play some board games.

I just recently starting coming here and can’t stop, I probably get a sandwich every week or so. Sadly I’ve only tried the pulled pork sandwich so far but only because it’s so good! I haven’t really eaten in the actually establishment yet because I’m always ordering food to go for class or work but it looks pretty cool inside. There’s a couple of old school video games in the back and plenty of seating inside and out. Also lots of parking which is a big plus for Austin businesses. I highly recommend the pulled pork of course but also try out some of their other subs as well, I’m sure they’re just as great.

Okie dokie location for this spot is great go for a walk or run and go grab a sub. The menu was small but great for tweeking since i like to change things up. The french bread was really good crunchy but yet soft when you bite into it. I had the reuben comes with turkey pastrami, fancy mustard, and veggies. I had to tweek it, added pickles and jalapenos some mayo. Yummy yummy in my tummy…

I received an email offering a free sub with the purchase of chips and a drink(for being a loyal customer). After arriving at Toasties, I was told that the offer was through Belly which they no longer used. I decided to stay and get a sub anyways and then went to enter my phone number on the ipad for the new loyalty program and was told that it was broken. A little upsetting that I didn’t get a free sub or even my points for the sub I purchased. I went to Toasties website to contact them about this issue and kept getting an error. My last resort to notify them of this issue is now Unilocal

Got the Medi Sub with grilled veggies on a toasted artisan bread – delicious. A great combination with the Hotter ‘N Hot Jalapeño chips and Texas Honey Iced Tea. Nice, comfortable, casual spot. Great for groups So far it’s better than any subs spot I’ve eaten at(including Jimmy Johns, Subway, Quiznos, Blimplies, Which Wich, etc.), but then again I don’t eat meat so my options are limited…

Love my Toastie’s! My last client was on Riverside, not too far from here, so I stopped by one day to check it out. I ended up going back plenty more times because it was delicious. I’ve tried a few of their sandwiches, and they are all good and fresh. My favorite is the bahn mi. The fresh ingredients, the light sauce, the toasty bread: delightful. Plenty of chips and soda/tea options. I think they also have beer if you fancy. There’s parking in the attached garage, or there’s street parking on the road behind it. Cool employees, quick service, yummy sandwiches.

I love Toastie’s! For one, their sub rolls are SUPERB. Fresh, «toastie», and warm, with a perfect soft center that just makes anyone happy. The atmosphere is chill, laid-back, and the staff is very personable and happy. The décor is also really cool featuring local artists on the walls. My favorite so far is the California Club Sub. It’s smoked turkey, sprouts, mayo, tomato, bacon, and lettuce. It comes with Swiss Cheese, but I skip that. It is DEEEELICIOUS! So comforting and fulfilling. They also serve beer and have some super great looking cookies that I still need to try. But that just gives me a reason to go back. Check it out!

Don’t ask them what he favorite is — you’ll get«that’s not really how this works» as your response. We heard the guy running the register say this to at least 3 people while we were there. Aside from the passive-aggressive Austin attitudes, the subs are good and priced well for what you get.

This sub shop is an endangered species. It is one of the very rare places in Austin with amazing, consistent customer service. The guy that runs the joint is always incredibly friendly, with a contagious smile and positive energy that you can’t help but reciprocate, even on the worst of days! The food is just as great. Like nearly everyone else on here, the Cuban is my personal favorite as well, but the Bahn mi is a close second. My girlfriend always gets the Italian which is one of the bests in town, too. It’s one of those great little shops where you can try anything on the menu with confidence that it’s going to be an awesome sandwich. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a quick, low-cost bite.

On a random bike ride in Austin I stumbled into this place on my way to ACL. I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be a pretty good sandwich place. I ordered their version of the Cuban. They have some outdoor seating and the location is pretty convenient. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch that’s not too expensive.

Great subs, super cool atmosphere and good prices. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly and gave us numerous suggestions. We went with the«Italian» which came on a Parmesan hoagie and a «Club Sub» with just meat and cheese(my son is picky). We were the only customers and it took a long time, but… still very yummy: o)

My family is from North Carolina. I know good pulled pork. This sub shop has the best pulled pork I’ve had in Austin. A sub shop! The Ban Mih I ordered was fantastic. Most I try are dry but this was tender with just the right amount of sauce. Just sweet enough without being overpowering and the jalepenos added some kick, but nothing that would make you avoid it if you don’t like spicy food. Add 3.75 drafts all day and you’ve got one hell of a joint. Highly recommend.

Toastie’s has redeemed itself. I came today for lunch and had exceptional customer service. The gentleman helping me was so nice. Make note that you must spend $ 5 or more to use your card. I decided to add chips after I had already gotten my food and had to get a brownie to push it over. I didn’t mind, and the brownie was delicious. I got my food quickly and my Italian sandwich was perfection. I’m glad I gave it another try.

Sammie’s done right! Oh my lanta, do they make a mean sub! I ordered a Cuban sand which and it was so messy, and right, that I let the mustard linger on my fingers longer than they should have. As I sank my teeth into the perfectly cooked pork, and buttered roll, I could only think happy thoughts. My coworker was equally as happy with his selection, although all my attention was on my meal. Can’t wait to come back!

Well this place is going to become a problem for me I can already tell. I was looking for some cool places to try out over the next few weeks on Unilocal and this place had a pretty awesome set of reviews. In addition, the stuff here looked really good so I decided to give them a shot. Came in around 2:00pm and the place wasn’t very crowded, there was probably 4 other people there and the wait was not long. I ended up trying the BBQ pulled pork sub. It was really good, I really liked the bread and it was toasted the perfect amount. I made the mistake of not getting the Cuban, because I have heard nothing but good things about that sandwich. I also got a Live Oak Hef which was a good addition too. The sandwich was great and I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other varieties. Service was really good here too. The guy working at the counter was really nice and helpful. A+ in terms of service. I’ll be back.
