Called ahead to make sure that they did shampoo and set. My sister took my mom. They tried to get a shampoo and set, and were told they don’t do that. My sister told them to cut an inch off and they left only an inch on. The lady got really insulted when she had to wash my mother’s hair, and got mad at my mom every time she told the lady what she wanted. Great way to treat a 79 year old woman.

I tried this place since it’s close to where I am and didn’t want to drive up north to my usual spot (my mistake). This place looked okay as it was a Vietnamese place and I thought they would be okay with trimming my hair.
I was seated in Viry’s chair. I told her I just wanted my hair layered and trimmed a little to get rid of the split ends. She just started showing me different scissors and asking me if that’s what I wanted. I have no idea what each scissors are used for, I should have left –_​-​.
She seemed to rush on my hair and then when she was done she held up the mirror behind me so I could see it. At the time it looked okay since she didn’t bother to dry it out from all the water she added to it to cut it. I payed left and went home.
As soon as I was home I blew dried my hair and to my shock my hair was not layered. Instead of it having a smooth transition look to it, there was block layers to it. You can see 3 distinct steps in my hair. I almost cried. I’m the type of person who doesn’t really care cause «hey hair grows back», my this hair cut was horrendous. I have an appointment to just chop my hair short again, at least the short hair can grow back looking better than what I left this place with.

I got my hair cut today by Viry. She was very sweet and motherly and gives great tips on how to care for your hair. She does inform you about products the salon sells, but is low pressure. Overall, I’m very happy with my hair cut and Viry meticulously made sure that it was wonderfully done. Above all, it was reasonably priced with $ 12. Be sure to tip her well, though. She’s beyond worth it! :)
They are no longer open at 11am on Sundays. They now open at 12pm-​6pm on Sundays.

Best fades in Austin, $ 8-​$ 10, can’t beat it.

Super friendly Vietnamese mom-​and-​pop barber shop and beauty salon. They are fast and cheap. They speak decent English too, unlike other barber shops in the neighborhood.
