West Marine

The staff at this location are always helpful, and ensure I find what I need. If they don’t have an item in house, they’re willing to order, but I must say, they do have a fairly exhausted selection on site.

I have a sailboat at Lake Travis and have bought most of my parts and supplies at West Marine for 10 years. Sylvio and Paul both do a great job and have a lot of expertise. Highly recommended!

Recently bought a used boat and have spent the last few weeks working on getting it into shape. Must have stopped by WM ten times since then. Each time I stop by, I spend about 20 mins talking with the WM team about my issue. They’ve been extremely helpful and have always provided me with top notch service. Paul, in particular, has helped me tremendously in troubleshooting/​fixing several issues.
As long as WM keeps to its 5-​star service, I won’t hesitate to buy my gear there. Highly recommended…

West Marine is a local marine supply store extremely close to my house. I’ve been going here for years every time I need a little something for the boat. Fuel filters, rope, trailer parts, marine vinyl cleaner… they have it all. Now I will point out that they do have a competitor just a few miles down the road known as Boater’s World. Boater’s World sometimes has items for cheaper, but they don’t have one thing that really makes West Marine great.
That one thing is the staff here at West Marine. There’s one gentleman in particular that has worked here for the 2.5 years that I’ve been coming here whose name I can’t remember right now. This guy is hands down one of the nicest sales people in Austin. I get the feeling that he just really loves boating and that when he’s not working at West Marine, he’s out on his boat enjoying time in the sun. Every time I come in, he’s got a smile on his face and is happy to help me find whatever it is I happen to be looking for. One time I went in to buy an anchor for my boat and he had the best story ever about a guy that ordered some obscenely sized anchor for a house boat and didn’t realize how huge that was. It may actually still be sitting in the store.
At the end of the day, the prices aren’t always the best (sometimes they are though!), but I keep going here because I love the staff, the selection, and the convenience of this wonderful store. They also always have sales going on for something, so if you’re in no hurry you can just wait around for the West Marine flyer to come in the mail and buy what you want when it’s on sale.
