Came up to the area for a funeral and overheard people discussing the restaurant and that the food was good. So, my family and I decided to give it a try. Well, let me tell you the grounds and the building are absolutely beautiful. So charming and lovely. The chicken dish was amazing and so was the pot roast dinner. Our waitress was very nice and told us all about the history of the restaurant and building. She was very knowledgable and a great waitress. So glad that we stopped there and if ever in the area again we will visit again.

It has a great atmosphere. The food is outstanding and the staff is great. It definitely is worth the drive, though for us it is just around the corner. You will not be disappointed.

In the past month I’ve gone here twice for their winter dining«experiment». Each time was a good experience. The first time I went on a Saturday evening, with a few friends for a girls night. It was crowded & really loud, but we had fun. The staff was very friendly really taking the time to make us feel welcome, talking with us about the history of the building and even the ghost sightings. The food was really good. I had the teriyaki chicken, my portion seemed smaller than the size of my companions dinners, but I was full and satisfied. And the mashed potatoes were awesome. A week later I went back with family on a Sunday evening. We got there for a 5 pm reservation, which was originally for two but we switched to 3 people. They accommodated us with only minor shuffling. We had a fun leisurely dinner. Marty, one of the owners came over introduced himself, talked with us and again made us feel very welcome. And kept checking in with us throughout out our stay. This time I got the eggplant parm. The portion was huge! It was really yummy. It did start to get crowded and louder as we were finishing up. The building is full of history and has an over all intriguing feel that is hard to describe. The only complaints would be the noise level can get very loud, and once the sun sets the Oak room is really dark and you need flashlights to see the menu. Which they do give you. :)

The second we were walking around on our tour of the Crooked Lake House 1 week after our engagement we both knew we had to be married there! It’s so beautiful outside and in and of course the high reputation of the food that Old Daley Inn provides is well known. We signed right then and there for our wedding October 20th, 2013. Working with our wedding coordinator, Elise Testo, was such a pleasure. She provided me with every tool I needed to plan my day and I never felt like I was all alone in the planning process. Every email I sent her was answered nearly immediately and she was always helpful and professional. On the day of the event, Elise and Marty Kearny and staff did an amazing job of trying to keep the little mishaps from me. My hair and makeup people left while I was doing our«first look» with the photographers, and unbeknownst to me, had not done my flower girl’s hair. It wasn’t until after the wedding I found out Elise herself had taken on the task of curling Becca’s hair. Also, when my officiant didn’t show they both sprung to action, Elise called the officiant(successfully) while Marty was already making calls to see how quickly they could get a back up there in case they weren’t able to reach my officiant. Again, I knew nothing of this until after I was home from the wedding. Marty made sure I had a drink in my hand the entire time and Elise made sure everything ran smoothly for our day. I truly cannot tell you how hard these folks worked and most of which I probably still don’t even know about! Our day was perfect, the venue is perfect, the staff is perfect. I truly felt like Cinderella at the ball!

We had the Old Daley Inn cater our wedding in Lake George, NY. Kathy was our contact person and she was VERY responsive and flexible, we never had any issues getting a timely response from her and she very patiently worked with us so that we were 100% pleased with our food choices for the cocktail hour and the reception dinner. On the day of our wedding, we had a hurrican like storm hit just as the ceremiony was about to begin. Th entire agenda, layout, and timing of the wedding had to be completely adjusted and Kathy and her staff were extremely accommodating with this. They were willing to set up wherever we asked them to with only moments notice and were able to transition immediately without any questions asked. We could not have been more grateful for them on our wedding day with the unpredictable weather! Thanks to their great team, we are STILL getting compliments on the wonderful food and excellent service that they provided for us. In addition, Kathy’s team took it upon themselves to constantly clean up cups, plates, napkins, etc that were put down on tables or other areas around the cocktail area and reception, so that the space always looked immaculate. All of the food was fresh, hot, unique, and delicious and we were getting compliments on it all throughout the wedding. We very highly recommend them to cater any event and could not have been more grateful for thier service to us on our special day!

I got married here two weeks ago and was absolutely thrilled with everything about it! First of all, the setting is amazing. It was always a great spot, with a beautiful oak bar in one room, a stunning stone fireplace in another large room(available for indoor ceremonies), and the gorgeous ballroom with nothing but huge windows showing off the grounds. The Old Daley Inn obtained ownership fairly recently and has done an incredible job with renovations and grooming, including adding a beautiful stone area for outdoor ceremonies. The place is in picture-perfect shape! The food was abundant and absolutely delicious, from the passed hors d’oeuvres and antipasti station to the salad, the penne vodka, and the melt-in-your-mouth been tenderloin(the seafood entrée and eggplant parm also got rave reviews!). We asked for a special Italian-influenced menu and they were very accomodating, as well as did a fantastic job executing it. My guests were very impressed with both the venue and the food. The only advice I would give as the bride doing most of the planning myself, do not be afraid to go over details. And go over them again. And again. The people at Crooked Lake have lots of things going on(as all venues do) and there’s nothing wrong with being over-cautious about how you want things.(Their cake person in particular is a little flaky. They use a great local bakery and my cake was gorgeous and DELICIOUS, but it did not have the decoration we had discussed.) In any event, my persistance paid off. Janice, their events coordinator was totally accommodating and a doll to work with, and on the big day everything was so perfect that all I had to do was sit back and enjoy! The staff was on top of everything, right down to knowing what my husband and I wanted to drink and bringing it to us at the start of the receiving line! I guess, to sum it up, I’ve never felt so taken-care-of in my life. Thanks to everybody at Crooked Lake, my husband and I were truly King and Queen for a day. Our parents and our guests were thrilled, and we have a glorious day of memories with pictures to die for on that beautiful lake!

The Crooked Lake House has new owners yet again, and this time it’s the Old Daley Inn. But don’t let the name confuse you — there are no rooms for rent here. The Husband and I just came for a company Christmas party. We had been here under previous ownership for dinner, so we had some expectations in terms of the décor, but didn’t know what the food and service would be like. We were pleasantly surprised all around. The evening started with hors d’oeuvres both passed and buffet-style, in addition to a station with mulled cider and rum(delicious!). They had everything from stuffed mushrooms to crackers and various cheeses, spreads and kielbasa, pesto chicken skewers and deviled eggs. After an hour or two, we moved into another room for a buffet dinner, including an impressive spread of meats, veggies, starches and salad. Everything was flavorful and wasn’t overly oily or dried out, as buffets so often are. Our plates were promptly cleared after dinner and we were welcomed into a third room for an impressive dessert spread, dancing and(more) drinking. Again, all of the food was very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend their Cabin Fever cocktail, which includes(I believe) Absolut Mango, orange juice, cranberry juice and a splash of 7up. The bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly, fast and professional throughout the evening. The décor is here is classic and classy, with hardwood floors throughout, high ceilings with wooden beams, and stone walls with several working fireplaces. There are a number of rooms(countless, it seems) of various sizes. I deduct one star because as of the date of this review, the Old Daley Inn’s website is under construction… so I have no idea when or if the restaurant is open for dinner in addition to functions! I look forward to coming back.
