When you are at Hartland you are standing on Holy Ground.

Unfortunately, this camp refuses to serve individuals of different faiths. They do not embody the true teachings of Christ, and are intolerant of their fellow brothers and sisters in humanity. The blatant discrimination is very saddening. I would recommend Sugar Pine Christian Camp in Oakhurst near Yosemite as a better alternative and true model of Christian morals and values.

Why anyone would rate this 4 stars is beyond comprehension. We’ve been going here for about 8 years and it is a TEN star rating!

Wow. Unbelievably serene, inspiringly scenic, and just remote enough to make you feel like you’re nowhere near anything or anybody. The staff were friendly, the accommodations were appropriate, and the overall experience of staying at Hartland was really memorable. I was a guest speaker for a group that had rented out the facility for a weekend in early January. The drive up the mountain was gorgeous, and in no time we were high enough in elevation to see the peaks of Whitney and surrounding mountains. About a mile outside of Hartland, it started snowing and as we entered the camp it was completely blanketed in fresh white powder. The camp was built around a creek in a shallow canyon, with several footbridges crossing over the creek. That scenery combined with the wood cabins, icy creek, and snow covered pine trees was quite a sight. Definitely not something you see everyday here in San Diego. Great facility if you’re looking to host a retreat in the Central California /Northern California region.
