So the opening of the new Salmonberry Birthing center in kitsap county, is an awesome development. Gumnut midwifery is a fabulous team, full of extremely caring providers. I feel so blessed to be a part of the family. My experience with Louisa was one of utmost respect and care. The fact that you could get questions answered, and support anytime is lovely. At my daughters birth, Louisa was pregnant and stayed with me for four plus days in port townsend, working with us throughout our transfer, labor and delivery. Then amazing support and guidance as I struggled for 6 weeks to get breastfeeding to work well for us. Anyone who is lucky enough to get to birth with these women will feel blessed. No joke, a great midwife is a life changing process, myself and all my friends who have had birthed with this team, agree. We love Gumnut, and can’t wait for salmonberrys doors to open!

I came to Louisa and Gumnut Midwifery at 8 weeks pregnant unexpectedly and uninsured. No obgyn would even talk to me without a giant cash retainer. Louisa helped me get my insurance squared away and then took the absolute best care of me imaginable while pregnant. Throughout my pregnancy Louisa helped me prepare not just for child birth, but also being a mother. It was incredible whole-person care. When my daughter developed a heart arrhythmia at 30 weeks, she caught it and hooked me up with the best team of perinatologists in the Seattle area. She answered my phone calls, day and night, she listened and reassured me, tested when necessary but didn’t push for things I didn’t want. She hugged me endlessly and provided the most incredible prenatal and post partum care I could imagine. I could talk all day about how much I love Gumnut Blossom Midwifery, but I will basically sum it up by saying I basically feel like I have to have another baby(we swore this was a one & done!) Just so we can spend another 10 months getting quality time with Louisa and her team.
