The décor is unlike any Starbucks I have ever seen. The food and coffee selections are comparable to the other locations except they have a special Bainbridge Island blend, which is very good. There is a Clover machine, which brews a cup at a time and the taste is better than their normal brewed coffee. The staff is very friendly and competent. My only complaint is that the access from the parking lot is definitely not handicapped-friendly. I had to walk uphill to the neighboring pizza joint and then down some stairs to get to the entrance. Frankly, it is easier for me to go to the Starbucks kiosk at the nearby Safeway.

This Starbucks is discretely located near Safeway. The coffee is comparable to most SB locations in Seattle but they have their own special roast named after Bainbridge Island, which is pretty good. I like how there’s a lot of natural light in this location and the staff that work here are very welcoming and friendly. I frequently visit the island so I look forward to studying in their patio area once it gets warmer.

I have never felt compelled to review a Starbucks location, because usually their homogenous approach to décor and drink offerings are satisfying and satisfactory. It was for this reason I stopped in at the BI location at about 10am on Friday. The place was an absolute zoo. The floor plan has a long bar down the center of the main room, and customers streaming in were unsure if they were supposed to form a line on the right or left side, trapping the poor souls in the center between gaggles of high school girls cutting class and bulky strollers pushed by the mommy crew. Twice, in the 90 minutes I sat reading, I watched baristas roll a giant stinking trash can through the crowd of people, all the way through the shop, to reach the outside dumpster. The drinks were fine, but I have never seen such a poorly planned unwelcoming Starbucks storefront. Drop by for your fix, but take your coffee to go.

An amazing new Starbucks in Bainbridge Island. The décor was designed to match the northwest and nautical feel in Bainbridge Island. They have their own Bainbridge Island blend which is unique to this location. They have a Clover machine as well and if you like coffee the baristas will explain to you how it works and how to get a great cup of coffee. Mornings can be busy, lunch as well with the school crowd. Afternoon is a great time with the sun out and the large patio they have. Highly recommend bringing your favorite deck of cards, Bananragrams or another great game to play. Oh they are right next to a pizza place and a yogurt shop, BONUS!

Today is the very first day that Bainbridge Island has a full service Starbucks and it is now open to the public. We were the very first customers to walk through the door. The ambiance is warm and inviting as is the Starbucks Team. They have a very fancy coffee maker called a Clover. This is something that you should try at least once. It makes a unique cup of brewed coffee with any of the available flavors offered by Starbucks. I am told it is somewhat rare and not offered at many locations due to the very high cost of the equipment. The location is very convenient if you are heading towards the Bainbridge to Seattle Ferry. It’s in the Safeway Rite Aid parking lot. There is ample and easy parking and access. This is a very welcome addition to the many exciting new businesses locating in Bainbridge Island, especially for us locals who look forward to their Starbucks coffee every day.
