Since there is such a plethora of mid-range priced nail salons, I have to be a bit harsh. Your experience here probably depends on who you get. My step-mom is a nail tech in Santa Barbara, so I am privied to the techniques they use to prolong the polish on your toes(I only ever get pedicures). When she does my toes, they last for at least 2 weeks without chipping or peeling. More often than not, they last until my toenails grow out and I need to get them redone anyways. My pedi only lasted for a several days. Granted, I went skiing for two days, but I’ve had pedis that last through much worse. The service is average and the salon is very clean. I wouldn’t recommend against coming here but meh. I’ve experienced better. P. S. They’ll accept a card if that’s all you have, but they will tell you that you should bring cash. Blah.

Not impressed! I went on a Friday afternoon and the salon was a little busy, but not packed. I waited about 5 – 10 minutes, which wasn’t too bad. The problem was that in the middle of my pedicure the manicurist left me for 10 minutes to go wax a «regular» that just walked in. This other customer did not have an appointment, but they felt it necessary to leave me to go attend to her. After the pedicure I received a very rushed manicure that began chipping 2 days later. I won’t waste my time or money going back.

Nothing special. They were clean with their implements which is nice but that’s about it.

This is my «go to» place for a mani and pedi! Owner and staff are all very friendly and nice. My time there is always splendid and relaxing. I’m not sure what kind of top coat they use, but my polish stays put for at least a week, despite all the hand washing. A plus! $ 30 for a basic mani and pedi and the price goes up depending on what«add ons» you want, if any. Reasonable prices, great service and clean salon!

This is my go to place for pedis alone or with friends. Why? This is literally the ONLY place I’ve been to in this fair city of ours that uses a new set of tools on each client(you know, like they are supposed to be doing, via health codes and basic cleanliness standards). I, like many Bakersfiedians, thought it was perfectly normal to get a pedicure with a grody looking file, ancient looking clippers, etc. etc. This is not the case! You are going to get a nail infection at those awful chop shops! Instead, Elegant Nails & Spa opens a sanitary, clean package that includes a pumice, file, and metal tool for each client– right in front of you, right there in the comfy pedicure chair. How freaking great is that? The price is excellent, particularly given what you get– as others mentioned, a «Deluxe» pedi is still reasonably priced($ 35 or so) and what you get with that is a massage, sea salt scrub, etc. Love it. The staff is kind and professional, plus your nails will look awesome.

I went there ONCE for a deluxe mani and pedi, it was ok, and they took debit. Tried to go back since, and was told a flat out«NO» they couldn’t fit me in, I get it, they are busy, but it would have been nice if they had at least TRIED to accommodate, it not like I showed up 20 minutes before closing(it was the mid-afternoon) especially considering there is a nail salon on every street corner in Bakersfield…

Pretty boring name. Typical for Bakersfield. I walked in without an appointment at 5:30 and wrote down my name and that I wanted a mani + pedi. I expected the average Bakersfield experience. Um. I was severely disappointed. And by «disappointed» I mean shocked. This place is remarkable. I was helped within five minutes. There was a slight confusion over the color I wanted on my fingers + toes, but it was mostly my fault and the little bit of a language barrier. Which seriously isn’t bad here. At all. I understood everything perfectly and I rarely heard anything other than English, which is something I know a lot of women complain about at these places because you think they’re talking about you in a language you don’t understand. Not here! Okay, onto the service. I had An and she was. beyond the best mani + pedi I had ever gotten. I’ve been to salons in LA, Santa Monica, San Francisco and NYC. She was the best. I chose the deluxe pedicure and felt like royalty! Hot towels, sea salt scrub, 25 minute massage(should have been ten but she was amazeballs), the paraffin wax treatment on both my hands and arms was to DIE for. Seriously. The hot towels, foot + leg + arm + hand massage, etc etc? I thought I was in heaven. I nearly fell asleep I was so relaxed. It’s super clean and the entire staff was beyond sweet. They stayed open 15 minutes late to allow my UV nail polish topcoat to dry completely and didn’t seem bothered at all. They were all extremely nice. I told An that I would definitely be back, she was super incredible and this is my new favorite place. I got the deluxe everything for $ 55. The treatment I got would have been well above $ 80 anywhere else. Try this place, ladies(and gents). Next time I’m going back for a full body massage. Swoon. PS. Bring cash but if you don’t have any they have an ATM in there that only charges you $ 1 to use it.
