McDonald’s

I haven’t been to this Mc. Donald’s location since the upgrade. And I must say wow! That’s because they have made convenient seating for those who would like to stay awhile. My guess the coffee and Free wi-​if is the lure for this perk to stay for awhile.
Keith was the cashier who took my order. I skipped the kiosk though I love the convenience of the kiosk Build-​Your-​Own-​Burger. However I received the coupon in the mail for free fries and med drink with purchase of the burger. The kiosk doesn’t take coupons and requires an associate to ring the order up.
My time was 5 minutes start to finish. And delivered right to my table!
The food looks amazing!
Keith was very personable. He even offered the best features of the sandwich– bacon– two slices! I ordered Gouda cheeses– two slices, no charge. What? What? Also he provided the value added service suggestion. Their new mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce.

My dad & I decided to go through the drive thru at McDonald’s for breakfast before heading off to his chiropractic appointment. Given that, we weren’t at all in a position to wait very long at all so that is why we decided to use the drive thru which «should» be quick & easy. We went during a busy breakfast hour which is understandable. However, it is not understandable that our order was not even taken during our experience in the drive thru. It was a two lane drive thru & we went into the left lane where we were greeted by the drive thru lady & she told us to hold on a moment (not in those exact words). So we waited as we heard her take other orders from the other lane. & here we’re sitting waiting… waiting…waiting…& waiting as we witnessed many other cars go on before us as their orders were being taken while we were being ignored. There was another lady waiting behind me & she got the memo & moved to the other lane. She was able to because no one was behind her. Her order was taken before us. So I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt & thinking to myself maybe they’re just experiencing a technical difficulty. Well when we decided to skip the «ordering» process & move along with the others without our order being taken, the person who arrived behind me was able to approach the drive thru speaker & her order was taken in a timely manner. I felt that our treatment here was unfair & wrong. My dad had already got out of the car during our wait in the drive thru to place his order inside instead. He went in before knowing that the person behind us had their order taken. So if he had gone in to order it was because he was under the impression that their machine was broken but it was not. He went in letting them know what had occurred & the lady simply laughed as she told her colleague who was working the drive thru «you’re not running your line correctly.» She said it in a laughing sarcastic way which made my father feel a bit taken a back. Not an apology was extended & we weren’t offered an alternative solution. Word to the employees here: if you hate your job so much just quit. Work elsewhere where you’ll enjoy it & not have to waste other people’s time.

Let’s be honest, for many years there have been only 3 reasons for me to frequent a McDonald’s restaurant:
1) Any size drink (soda or tea) for $ 1 — Yes, I said ANY SIZE. And if you happen to go inside, there are the free refills for as long as you stay (same visit only, please) and McD’s carries both Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper. Mmmmm
2) Free wifi that’s easy to connect to, fast (8−9Mb download), and nobody cares how long you use it as long as you bought something.
3) I have a friend’s children with me; children go gaga for their chicken nuggets and happy meal prizes.
McDonalds has recently been trying to up their game by going more upscale. You can now order customized burgers at ordering kiosks and in 6 – 8 minutes they’ll deliver the burger you custom created with a smile.
You start with two bread choices — buttered toasted artisan roll or buttered toasted ciabata roll.
Feeling Saucy? Then choose from seven possible sauces/​condiments” Bic Mac special sauce, spicy mayo, creamy garlic sauce, sweet BBQ, and (for those unimaginative sorts) Mayonnaise, ketchup, or yellow mustard.
Mix and match 9 toppings: guacamole, sliced jalapenos, grilled mushrooms, crisp red onions, caramelized onions, chili lime tortilla strips, sliced tomato, leaf lettuce, and crinkle cut pickles.
Daaaa-​da-​da-​daaaaa — you may now add thick cut applewood smoked bacon
Choice of three cheeses: natural sharp white cheddar, pepper jack, or American
Finally, you choose a ¼ lb 100% beef patty (that pink slime stuff you always see on those FaceBook links is just made up to scare you — these are real beef and don’t let anybody tell you anything different.
Why, you may ask, should I order at a kiosk instead of talking to a real person behind the register? Can you imagine telling the minimum wage cashier that you want a ciabatta bun, guacamole, jalapenos, grilled mushrooms, raw onions, tomato, and pepper jack cheese and hoping she hits all the correct buttons while her manager is reminding her she needs to mop the floor when she’s done waiting on you? Trusting soul, aren’t you?
McDonald’s has also been putting on a new face to go with the new eats. They’ve redecorated and included come upholstered chairs, upholstered couches, and upholstered benches to go caress your backside while the new menu entrees caress your taste buds. There is also an outdoor patio area with three picnic tables shaded by umbrellas, though I can’t imagine one would enjoy the sound, smell, and sight of the traffic on 24^th Street racing by.
I have to be honest. I only stopped in here to use the restrooms (which were impeccably clean and sporting XLERATOR hand dryers), purchase one of those $ 1 huge refillable sodas, and use their free wifi, but after watching other people’s orders delivered to them I was pretty curious. I’ll definitely be trying one of these new burgers on my next visit.

This McDonald’s always has fast service making it a feasible stop on my way to work. (That’s appreciated considering its on one of the busiest streets in town during morning rush hour.)
I’ve only ever had one issue here (which really isn’t an issue, I just found it hilarious and have to mention it)
The last time I went, I ordered 20 chicken nuggets with honey mustard as a dipping sauce. When I drove off I realized I was given honey packets instead. Actual honey. For my chicken nuggets. What?!
Just thought that was funny.

Love this Mc Donald’s very clean and nice people! Great place! Very modern inside. I have always enjoyed bringing the family here to eat and spend time together.

We ordered two sundaes and a flurry today. The two sundaes were only half full and didn’t have a lot of fudge in them. The flurry was not mixed very well and only the top third to half of the flurry had the bits mixed in while the rest was just vanilla ice cream. Not a lot of effort was put forth in making our desserts and this McDonalds didn’t appear to be busy at all.

Any time I visit McDonald’s my expectations are low. That being said, in order to achieve such a low rating even after my already lowered expectations takes some work.
On the way back up to NorCal this morning. My dad and I left Palm Springs just before 5am. We agreed on stopping in Bakersfield for a super quick breakfast. We arrived at McD’s right around 8:30 in the morning. Simple order of: 2 sausage biscuits, 1 sausage biscuit with cheese, 1 hash Brown, 1 small oj, and a milk.
The woman working the counter was so angry. She did not smile once. When she entered in one of my ordered items incorrectly, she immediately became annoyed at me because clearly, I pressed the wrong button on the register, not her. Ugh. So, we received our order. The hash Brown was limp. It was nasty. The milk was expired by 10 days. When we made the cashier aware of the problems, she rolled her eyes, snatched the items from me and proceeded to tell me that the milk is perfectly «fine to drink as long as it doesn’t smell bad». Ummm… no thank you. After some debate, she gave me a New unexpired milk.
Thankfully, I don’t believe that I will ever be visiting this establishment ever again.

People in the other reviews are NOT happy with this McDonald’s, and I’ll tell you … it’s not great. But it’s McDonald’s. What is everyone expecting?
The food quality is probably slightly less reliable than the Chester Ave location in Oildale (I know, crazy, right? It’s true, though).
And access to this McDonald’s is complicated by the one-​way streets on both sides, but a drive-​thru that points west and north, so there is some looping required, depending on what angle you’re arriving from.
Personally, coming from the west, I made a left, a right, then curled into the drive-​thru. On the way out, I drove through a carwash lot, a gas station lot, and back out to the street because I needed to continue west on a street to the south. Got that?
In any case, my quarter pounder was created without cheese, as I instructed. My fries were, as always, the grossest and most delicious foot item on the planet, and my lemon-​lime soda was properly syruped.
What else do you want? It’s McDonald’s, and at least it’ll make you less sick than the T-​Bell next door.

nice. of them to let us finish using the rr. not like they had a choice. they didnt lock their doors at 1030 and they were closed at 10. we really came in here for a pit stop. the drive thru was still open. but they were def waiting for us to finish using the rr. so we went to the drive thru instead. the fries were fresh.

drive-​in girl was snippy. pulled up to first window, she was flirting with the male cashier and treated us like we were nothing. order was wrong. i used to work at this one when I was 19. expected this.

Came in here the other day for dinner. I wanted a particular Hello Kitty toy. They didn’t have it, but I was still set on eating there. I placed my order and was then told that the soda machine was out of order. Seriously? They could sell me a bottled water or coffee. I really wanted a Diet Dr. Pepper. At course this would come at an additional cost. Needless to say I left without eating there.

Clean and nice new look. friendly staff and didn’t have to recheck my order like most of the other one.

Okay, all McDonald’s are not equal. This one has the freshest fries and the best-​tasting tea compared to the other Bakersfield locations. Also, the people working there are very nice. Also, unlike other Bakersfield locations, it participates in more promotions (coupons and other promotions that are advertised).
