Rosa’s Italian Restaurant

My wife and I love Rosas! The dim lit romantic itallian atmosphere is awesome. We also order take out 1 – 3 time a month because we love the food. The staff is always friendly and upbeat. The place always seems to be busy.

Best Italian food in town, hands down. Lasagna is amazing. Rosa’s special pizza is amazing. Everything is amazing here. I’ve been coming here since 1978 and have no plans to stop.

Great food, good prices, and friendly staff. Our second time here and we are completely satisfied.

Today I went to Rosa’s for the 1^st time and I was very pleased with the service the food was excellent I had the new york steak with shrimp scampi the steak was cooked the way I asked for and the pasta was very tasty. I definitely recommend this place and I will continue to eat there.

I’ve been coming to this place with my family for 26 years since I was a new born.
There’s a reason this place has been around so long, it’s because they use a system that has been working for so many years.
It’s good food and a family feel. This place has always remained true to itself and that’s why they have been successful.
I live in NYC now but can attest that this is one of the establishments that I do miss because its appeal is universal.

I hadn’t been to Rosa’s in years, but used to go every week with my Grandmother. I got so excited when I realized we were close by!!!
We ordered the Chicken Artichoke pasta, (I had them add sautéed garlic to mine), a cheese pizza, and chicken parm. My pasta was literally a bowl of Heaven. I’m pretty sure God made it, it was that good! The cheese pizza was the best we’ve ever had. We were there yesterday, and my husband wants to make the 40 minute round trip drive to get more pizza! Needless to say, we need more Rosa’s in our lives! We don’t care how far we have to drive, it’s happening people!!!
Woops, forgot to mention how great the service was. That’s so important these days, it’s still the same family feeling inside, and they still have the same strong family values.

I have been a fan of Rosa’s for years and have always enjoyed their food! Last week for lunch, I ordered cheese pizza, and their half and half spaghetti and ravioli, and minestrone soup for take out. Many of us have considered their pizza to be one of the best, we were sadly disappointed with this pizza, looked like a blob of cheese melted over a tomato paste pizza crust! Not just me but others in my party couldn’t believe what we saw and the lack of taste, and no they weren’t busy when I picked up my order! I was told to call and complain, but I thought I would post on Unilocal,hopefully what ever the reason it won’t happen again, I have bought frozen pizzas that were better and less expensive! Come on Rosa’s, with so many choices, this could really hurt! !

Had dinner at Rosa’s tonight after many people raved about how good the food is. I was left disappointed. I ordered the Tutu Mare which is a $ 25 dish and the fish was tough and not flavored. I’ve had similar dishes like this and this was not worth $ 25.

SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE.
The waitress straight up just didn’t want to deal with us. We had a larger party of about 9 with a few kids. Kids were behaving, and we didnt think there were any issues except our server simply quit coming to our table. It was a family dinner, only two people drinking (and hardly anything for that matter since our waitress took so long to get a beer it was impossible to be out of control).
I wish i knew the name of one younger boys that was working as he was great. I think his job was mostly just to fill water and ice tea, but he did his best to help take care of us when it was noticed the waitress quite coming. In fact, i made sure he was tipped and not the waitress. I was able to get his attention after i finally got up and went to the front to see if i could buy another drink.
to top it off, some of our food was incorrect. Due to the long wait, we ended up eating it anyways, but we were actually charged for items we did not receive. We asked about this when we went to pay the check and the waitress actually started yelling at us, saying it was our fault and it was too late to fix now. She stated we should have told her about it, which was of course not possible because she never came back to our table after our food order was placed.
Even the cashier gave us an understanding nod when we talked about the service.
If we don’t ever come back to Rosa’s it wont bother me. What does bum me out a bit is i heard Rosa’s sister restaurant has great steaks, but if it is owned by the same family i dont even want to risk wasting my time and money there. Sad.

Rosas is a nice little family owned and operated Italian restaurant on the east side of Bakersfield. The specialize in true, authentic Italian cuisine.
Dimly lit and small inside but still full of warmth and welcome like a Italian family dining area would be. We were seated directly upon of arrival by the hostess. Our waiter came shortly after.
Drinks: Shirley temple (extra cherries) 5 stars
Appetizer: Garlic cheese bread– 3.5 stars
Main course: lasagna– 3.5 stars
Medium pizza for the family to share– 4 stars
Service: 4 stars
The red sauce is a bit tasting sweet to me. The meat in the lasagna was alright. Pizza was very good. Garlic cheese bread was really hard. Tough for me to eat.
This would be a great spot for a romantic date. There is an impressive wine selection.
I wasn’t drinking this particular evening though but I did notice the drink menu was nice.
Didn’t get a chance to have dessert as my 3 year old started acting up. I told the waiter if we could get our check and he grabbed it really quick for me. Thank you for that.
Overall: I would come back and order something different.

Had a big group. Food was enjoyed by all. Waitress was very willing to help and spilt the check too. Thanks for a good experience.
