Bonnie & Clyde’s Drive In

I’ve been to Bonnie & Clyde’s a couple times. The first experience, when the restaurant wasn’t at all busy, was quite positive. Great milkshakes and solid diner-​type fast food, with very, very pleasant waitstaff. Second time we went was on a Saturday at about 4:30. There wasn’t anyone in the restaurant, but we were followed in by a larger group. We ordered several milkshakes to go and 35 minutes later — after the table of five that came in after us had received their burgers-​and-​fries meals — we finally received them. Perplexing, huh? What we figured out was that they get a lot of call-​in orders. So, even though they did not appear busy, they were hustling back in the kitchen. My recommendation: before you order, ask what the status of the kitchen is and how long you can expect to wait (although the nice server did tell us after ordering it would only be a few minutes). Were the milkshakes good? Yesiree. Wait-​for-​them-​30-​plus-​minutes good? No way!

Consistently delicious, reasonably priced food. We’ve been making the 30-​minute drive regularly since my husband has declared their burgers the best he’s ever had. Staff is very nice and welcoming as well. I highly recommend this place!

Dropped my family off to tube and I needed a place to hang out with my infant son. That’s when I saw Bonnie & Clydes.
First off, they have a 100% inspection grade which I don’t see often.
Second, their staff is incredibly helpful and happy. I was feeding my son and my waitress helped me figure out my meal without me opening a menu. She also brought me over a cup of warm water for my bottle. The extra stuff that she didn’t have to do.
Third, their food is incredible. I ordered the double spicy cheeseburger with all the fixins and curly fries. The beef was cooked perfect and tasted fresh. The spice wasn’t too hot but had a kick. And the fries were crispy and very tasty.
There are a lot of locals eating here who were also quite friendly.
My only complaint is that they don’t have Cheerwine.
But I still definitely recommend.

Awesome little place in the middle of no where! We went water rafting across the street and then pointed in the direction of Bonnie and Clyde’s. I had the steak style burger with curly fries and it was amazing! My brother in law had the country fried steak with hush puppies and mashed potatoes and my sister had the crab cakes with tater tots and a roll. All the food was spectacular and the hush puppies were the bomb! Super nice staff and amazing cook. Great little find I definitely recommend it!

Yes, five stars for this diner. Been here for years. Out in the middle of nowhere. They have the best burger and fries around. Even have tater tots…

Plate lunches include flounder, fried shrimp, chicken fried steak, chuck wagons, pinto beans.
Open for breakfast too.
Very reasonably priced.

Stopped here for a bite as I was driving through the middle of nowhere in Appalachia. It’s very small with limited seating. The walls are covered with cheesy 50s images of James Dean, Marylyn Monroe, and Elvis cruising together in a pink Cadillac together. But the food is delicious. I ordered a double cheeseburger and received an enormous burger with what looked like two quarter pound patties. It tasted amazing and wasn’t greasy at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used grass fed beef. The burger was so large I wasn’t able to finish my fries which were great as well. They didn’t over salt them. I ordered a small Pepsi and received what looked like a two pint cup full. I don’t remember how much I payed but I do remember thinking that I got away with highway robbery. I just gave the girl a twenty and told her to keep the rest. I would recommend you tip the wait staff well. These poor girls take orders, bus the tables, take orders from the outside walk-​up booth & deliver to them outside. Yet they maintain that friendly southern charm.
