So the family plans a trip to Mexico now and again, and I’ve never really been around to go on those trips, but this year, I says to myself, I’m in! and the search for a location is on! My dad usually gets everything booked through his travel agent over in El Monte, but the agent he used has left the agency and the rest of the agents at that location won’t return phone calls so we decided to try someone new. Link Travel has 4 locations, but we visited the one in Baldwin Park. The family usually stays at the Las Brisas Resort, which is one of the nicest in Acapulco, or so i hear, as i haven’t been. The Agent claims that Las Brisas is full. It turns out that he just doesn’t do business with them. Or maybe he gets a smaller commission. The Agent offers the Crowne Plaza, which is right on the beach, and to be fail, is $ 100 a night cheaper. And says it’s a great place. Now i don’t know much about the travel business, but i do know about customer service. And you don’t tell anyone something is good because you read it on a pamphlet. You tell someone it’s good when you have seen it and verified it is good! This place sucked balls! Room service missed our room twice and 3 times only left one shower towel. The bartenders at the pool bar were incredibly rude, and the drinks were expensive for being in Mexico. 10 bucks for a Buchanan’s and tonic! And the FOOD! The FOOD! It SUCKED! Finally on the 4th or 5th day, our guide recommended a place 2 hotels down. The Emporio Hotel. Now this place was nice! and the restaurant was great and at great prices. Then I find out the rooms there would have been $ 100 cheaper then the shit hole Crowne Plaza!?! WTF? I come to find out the Crowne Plaza has changed name 3 times in the recent past. now this should have been enough to tip off the agent at Link Travel. All in all, we had a good time in Acapulco, but the accommodations were horrible. And I truly blame the travel agent at Link Travel. Shit, i would have had better luck on Travelocity or Yahoo Travel. Final Verdict: NEVERUSETHISPLACE.
