The food was amazing!!! We had beef tacos and the cheese enchiladas. I love this place!!! But most of all, our server Mike was the sweetest and kindest person. He made our visit worth every penny…

Tried the place 3 weeks ago. My entrée was more like a large appetizer, has some strange flavors, not really that good. My GF got a chicken burrito thing and was happy enough with it So, she wanted to go again tonight. The menu claimed to have the best Tamales around. So I ordered them. Supposed to have pork in them. What I got was 2 blobs of some funky mealy pasty mixture with the tiniest of pork remnants in it. Between these 2 «Tamales» I doubt there was an ounce of meat. Felt ripped off. The rest of my plate was beans and rice. Total garbage meal. My GF got the same chicken thing she got last time. I took a bite and think it was chicken of the sea canned chicken in it Literally, Taco Bell has better food. The good reviews are probably because you can eat for $ 14 and get free chips and that pleases the local Ballston Spa eater

We decided to try somewhere new last week for Mexican and came across Leon’s. The restaurant is small and cute. The prices are a little more expensive compared to some other Mexican restaurants I like but the food was good. We each started with a margarita, which took a while to come out, but I didn’t mind because I could see our server delivering table to 2 larger parties nearby. But when he did drop off the drinks he apologized and didn’t charge us for them which was very nice of them. Needless to say service was definitely excellent. All in all, it was not a bad experience but the food was average and prices slightly high so we aren’t rushing back here.

I really hate to write the truth in this case, mainly because I really wanted to see a Mexican restaurant thrive in Ballston Spa. But here is what my experience consisted of, from a Tuesday night visit. * Walking In: There is a host/hostess station, but no one is using it. After waiting a bit, the owner signaled me to take a table from his position behind the bar(about 10′ away). OK, not great, but no big deal. * Seating: I always get a little nervous when I see lots of neighboring tables with no food in front of them. It means one of two things: The kitchen is behind, or the waitstaff is behind. In this case, it was the waitstaff. One of the servers was extremely slow — as if she was in a time warp of some kind(very odd).(Thankfully, we got the other server.) Table was not clean — had been just wiped down with a smelly, wet rag. Really bad way to begin. * Chips and Salsa: Chips were greasy and extremely salty. Hard to eat. Good for low-carb diets. Also, water was not brought to the table until later. Kind of a bad combination. Salsa was OK(mild). * Order taking: Very good. I don’t eat much dairy, and the server helped me make a good choice. * Food delivery: Reasonable timing. No check-ups from the server in between order and delivery though, so not great. * Food itself: Really mediocre, run-of-the-mill American Mexican food. Kind of bland and not inspired at all. Just doing the basics here. Overall, just not good enough to return. Sorry B-Spa, I wanted this to work.

I’m from California and we know Mexican food. Leon’s does not disappoint. Had a combination plate with Chili Rellenos and Chicken enchilada. It was so delicious. The Skinny Margarita was perfect. The only thing that could have been better was the fried ice cream. It needed the cocanut more toasted. I would suggest trying Leon’s.

The best Mexican food I have had in the Capital Region. My spinach enchilada had lots of fresh spinach and a fabulous mole sauce! The chicken flouta had flavorful chicken and stayed crispy. Topped it off with a yummy mango margarita. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

Yum. Best Mexican food in Saratoga and probably the Capital District. You’ll be glad you stopped by to enjoy the food and the margaritas too.

Typical New York Mexican food. Nothing to write home about except the Horchata and Flan were exceptional. Terrible service though. We had a table come in 10 minutes after us and they finished their dinner before we even got our food. I ordered a burrito and my husband ordered their tacos and a chimichanga. His chimichanga wasn’t even crunchy. Just a soggy mess. The tacos were good, and my burrito was ok. Probably won’t return because of the awful service. Our waitress never checked on us, and we waited 30 minutes after my husband finished his drink for a refill.

We’ve been to this restaurant’s new location twice so far. On our first visit we found the food to be lighter and fresher than at other Mexican restaurants in the area — a very welcome change. Our server was fantastic — attentive and accommodating, and despite delays in the kitchen he kept us updated and flush on chips and salsa so we didn’t mind the wait. We enjoyed it so much that we returned a few days later, which happened to be their first Friday night since the re-launch. It was pretty much a total fail. They were packed beyond capacity. We waited at the bar, expecting a 20 minute wait but ended up being closer to 40. Once we were finally seated, the process of getting menus, ordering and being served was painfully slow. It was clear that both the front and back of the house were completely in the weeds, and the hostess was pinch hitting as our server. We waited so, so long that we were falling asleep and were pretty disappointed with the food once it finally arrived. We’ll go back and give them a third try, but maybe after they work out the kinks, and probably during the week rather than the Friday rush. Rating is four stars to be kind — really should be three based on our second visit, but I don’t want to punish them for a single bad night.
