When I first moved to the Saint Louis region I tried various places to cut my hair, and after some searching I found that the people at this particular Hair Saloon are all great. I’ve had a few different people for my haircuts, but now have just one stylist I use, as I find the more you go to single person the better they get at knowing what you like. The staff is friendly and you get a free soda while you wait, along with some televisions to keep your attention. I’ve never had to wait long though and greatly enjoy getting my haircut and washed. It isn’t cheap but for all the service you get I would say it is quite worth it. I’m a big fan of this particular Hair Saloon location and would recommend to anyone who isn’t sure where to go for their haircut that they come here.

I’ll start by saying that I went to this place about 15+ years ago(I’m 32 now) when I lived in St Louis, and I didn’t have any complaints then. But I don’t think I was terribly picky about my hair at that time either. «military medium regulation #2» as summed up below by Raul sounds spot on for what I got then, and got now. Nowadays however I prefer something with a little more style, and if style is what you’re looking for, avoid this place at all costs. The cut I received was horrible — probably right on par with exactly what I received the last time I went there. She(I think her name was Tiffany but I could be wrong) used straight scissors, and now the hair all over my head has a straight-line cut. I wear my hair slightly over my ears and it looks like somebody came up behind me with a pair of scissors and just went SNIP! The fun didn’t stop there though. The entire time she seemed more interested in trying to make small chat about absolutely mindless subjects(trying to help her tip??) while I was trying to avoid talking to her in hopes she would focus on her JOB. She also wanted to beef up the $ 20 that I was already spending for the worst haircut ever by offering the scalp massage, and then as she was already done and I was getting up said«oh I forgot to ask, did you want your eyebrows done?» I almost started rolling on the floor laughing.(note: I’d consider my eyebrows«normal». there are two of them and they aren’t very thick). If you have any sense of style, aren’t 15 years old or younger, and want a haircut from a place that focuses on the haircut itself instead of a free beverage, kids games, ridiculous up-sells, and other mindless crap, avoid this place at all costs!!!

Free drink upon arrival and little putting green area amenities are nice, but bottom line did a great job my hair. Knocked off one star for price — $ 30 after tip. However, some premium is warranted due to quality of care vs a Great Clips, Sport Clips or the like.

It is a little cheesy for the mans man with the checkerboard top lounge-like seating and golf putting station but it’s nice for your chain store type hair ‘saloon’. Keep in mind Im speaking as a woman/mom who took her 5 yr old son here. My son really enjoyed it. He felt like a ‘man’ wanting to ‘play golf’ and go-a-round of checkers. Unfortunately for him there was no wait and he got to get his hair cut as soon as we got there. The stylist did a great job. Fast and knew what she was doing. My son sat still and let her buzz and fade. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly!
