My china cabinet door had an accident. The glass was broken and some of the decorative woodwork in the door was damaged. I called Metropolitan Glass last Thursday, talked to a very informative woman, explained the situation, and she said she thought they could fix it, including the woodwork. They’ve got Saturday hours(9 a.m.-1 p.m.), so I took in the door two days later, along with a bag of broken decorative woodwork. Ann, who was working the front desk, was not so sure they could fix it. But I left it anyway for their review and consideration. (As an aside, the woman I talked with on the phone gave me a tip about an alley off Henry Road I could use to get to their parking lot. I did that, and it worked perfectly. But then I went through the back door, which put me in the garage, where a man was working on one of their trucks. He escorted me to the front showroom.) When I got home, I emailed them pictures of the china cabinet, so they could get the gist of the decorative woodwork, as both glass side panels have the same pattern. Ann called Monday, saying they could fix it, told me the price and said they’d call when it was done. I was not in a hurry. It’s been broken nearly 18 months. I delayed, because I didn’t know where to go to get it fixed, and I thought it would be terribly expensive. Hats off to my college chum, who suggested Metropolitan Glass. They called Wednesday to say it was done. I picked it up today, and it is PERFECT! What incredible service and response. This was so important, because it’s my husband’s maternal grandmother’s china cabinet. OK. Now. .. what did it cost? $ 64.70. Go figure.
