Based on the salsa, i could tell this place was the real deal lol. The bistec mexicano… absolutely. Tender, super flavorful ranchero sauce. Winner here. BF got the cajun shrimp and chicken pasta which was a winner as well. So good he ordered another one to go. The lemonade had an herbal quality which was a nice touch. Will definitely return. You must give this place a try!

Went again recently, and the food was just not as good as the first time around. Though the dishes my lady and I ordered were quite large, the quality and taste were just a bit lacking.

I came here for a company meeting. I had never heard of this place so I had no expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. We had an open bar(no more needs to be said about that :) Our menu consisted of Caesar salad, salmon, pasta with shrimp, chicken, and veggies, rice, and steak. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The salmon(which is easily overcooked) was expertly baked in a savory butter sauce. The steak was marinated and cooked medium-medium well and the pasta was creamy, but different from Alfredo and it kept well(I took some leftovers and ate them a couple days later). All in all great experience! The space is large so if you’re looking for somewhere to hold an event this place is a great option. Plus the parking is free after 6!

We wandered in here after the Ravens game and it was suprisingly empty. There was a group of people in the back singing karaōke but other than that there was only a few other people in the bar. Not sure if that’s promising for a «sports» bar or not. Anyways, the bartender was friendly. We we kinda hungry so we ordered a burrito spicy. It took a bit of time to come out but we were in no rush so we didn’t mind. The burrito was huge and covered in a SPICY red sauce. It was awesome. The rice that came with it was meh. Wouldn’t mind going back on a crappy rainy day to watch an O’s game.

I ventured into this place as a part of the Morgan State Homecoming activities. I got a couple of white wines. I used my Visa to pay for it. I woke up the next morning at 9:45 am with my phone ringing off the hook. It was Visa fraud prevention. The person on the line was asking me if I’d used my credit card at the Detroit Red Wings store… or if I was trying to check into a Trump property in Joliet Illinois. Um… no. I am in Baltimore. Now I am not saying the purchase of the white wine via credit card at Carlos O’charlies is connected to the telephone call. But it is the only place I used my Visa that weekend. Only used it because they do not take AmEx.

Food was rather decent. Service however was not. Impression I got from waitress/bartender made it seem like I wasn’t wanted there, maybe because i’m a white guy. No worries lady, I won’t be back.

Talk about a diamond in the rough! Let me start off by saying we went here as a joke and wanted to hit up a dive, but once we parked and walked in our opinion immediately changed. The restaurant is very large and has a nice bar, pool tables and some eclectic table/chair setups. Unfortunately the draft beer was completely out but it’s okay because we went traditional and got some Pacificos. We started off with an order of flautas which was nothing short of amazing. My main dish was the plato tipico which was cooked perfectly. The plantains and corn tamale was a nice addition to the plate and I could not have been happier with my meal… all for $ 12. The location is a bit dicey and really discredits the quality of the food. We met Carlos the owner when he came table to table to check on his guests. I will definitely go back!

First! OK, So I was in the neighborhood on foot last Sunday and need to get some dinner before I went grocery shopping otherwise I’d come home with Snickers ice cream bars and a whole cooked chicken. I hear this is a good place to watch an O’s game. Maybe in the spring that will be something to do. Carlos O’Charlies is a mix of Salvadorean, Mexican and American food. The bar is a decent size and beers are modestly priced. I really wanted a burger but I figured this place probably didn’t specialize in gringo food even though they had it on the menu. What the hell. Ordered up a Charlie Burger and a pork pupussa. Burger was ok. Nothing to cause for a repeat in the future though. Pupussa was big and cheap $ 2 for a nice size pupussa that wasn’t too greasy. The place was a bit slow and I was the only pale face in the house but service was nice if slow. I’d come here again to do some more exploring because it’s close but It’s not a place I will rave about right now. I could be surprised in the future though.
