Does it bother anyone else that there’s no way of knowing what the daily entrée is? I mean, I’ve had a range of choices, at times it’s a mediocre hot sandwich of some sort and other times I’ve had a kick-butt curry chicken wrap and once there were, get this, SEAREDSCALLOPS with 4 types of grain salads(quinoa, israeli couscous, bulgar, farrow?)! I can’t wait to have those scallops again, I mean these were pretty sizable scallops and for $ 6 only, seared pretty nicely – that’s a deal! But unless I go on a lucky day, I’ll never know when they are having that again! The sushi is OK, I used to put up with it since it’s all I knew, but I think I’ve had better sushi at the Dental School café and CulinArt Café-To-Go. If there’s one thing they can do to make it better is, start using better imitation crabstick and more roe! Unless you’re a medical type who’s kind of immune to the germs or you’re already sick, I would avoid the hot food and salad bar sections. Just seems kind of risky to have open-bar type food in a hospital cafetaria where there’s tons of people roaming around breathing germs.

This is the main cafeteria at the University of Maryland Medical Center. I’d say its strengths are the general speed that a customer is able to obtain food and business hours. Its weaknesses are its weekend hours, especially when one is around trying to study or work, and how packed it gets around lunchtime. While it’s not always serving hot food, typically one is able to go in during its operating hours and get something packaged to eat. The food is hospital cafeteria food. It does its job, I wish that they were better at posting the nutritional information on the food that they serve. Regardless, I’ve spent a lot of money here over the years. Mostly due to its tempo; it’s one of those places you can hit up 10 minutes before a meeting and expect to still be on time.
