I was really pleased with the service! She is very knowledgeable about natural hair, friendly, and is patient. I will definitely be back for a trim and a natural hair style. She is now the only person I trust to straighten my natural hair.

I live in New Jersey and the only stylists I could find who could do a Deva cut on black hair were in New York and Baltimore. I’m from Baltimore, so I chose Diaspora. It was great. I followed the instructions on the website on how to prepare my hair for the appointment and there were no issues. My hair actually looks longer now that it’s been properly trimmed (awesome!) and the color is great too. I will definitely be going back in a few months for a trim and a color touch up. I think I finally found my salon.

I am a new client, and was nervous about getting my very first Devachan haircut. Yasmine was very professional. Before my appointment, she called me and asked questions of what I wanted. Because truthfully, I had no idea. I just knew this much, I needed to get this gray hair right out of my head. I will say come with your hair prepared. Follow the instructions that she provides on her website. Its more for you than her. Again, did I stress I was nervous… LOL She asked me as I was sitting in the chair how did I want my hair cut. I explained that I wanted an angled cut, like a heart shape. She inquired on the color I wanted as well. Afterwards, tahdaw. Magic. I love it. I plan to see her again in February for a follow up. Honestly it might be before then. I would suggest that you go with some of the add on services too. I see a major difference in my hair. However, I have been prepping for about 2 months. So go, sit back, and enjoy

Once again I am so pleased with Yasmine’s services. My baby girl was in need a of cut, she had a lot of heat damaged hair. Yasmine gave her the cutest deva cut! she had shape and softness to her tresses that wasn’t there previously. My daughter who is 16 by the way absolutely loves her hair and she is so pleased by the whole experience. Thanks again Yasmine!

Just please read Everything on the website first, print and memorize it if you have to. Yasmine Is very passionate but very firm and direct in how her business is ran… my advise is that everyone be required to have a consultation prior to booking since her preferred hair and styling is so specific…

Yasmine was phenomenal and her salon is beautiful! My mother and I came to Diaspora Salon looking for Deva Cuts and we were not disappointed. Both of our cuts were beautiful and our hair came out beyond healthy. Thank you Yasmine for your fantastic work and your flexibility!

I love this place, especially one of the stylist. Yasmine is very creative and professional. She gives me what I ask for. She makes it look great and the style lasts very long. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere (space) is awesome! I recommended one of my friends and family and they both love going there. I will recommend more friends definitely. Awesome work!

I have been to this salon a few times now (2 up dos and mini twist) and have had my hair done by Yasmine every time. She has been nothing but a professional. I love how quick she completes my thick and long hair, never more than an hour to an hour and a half. she recommends products and techniques I can use at home to maintain my style and my hair. I was told about the lot but was also told that many customers do not use it because it is around the block. I was also told about the no food policy but I was told this policy was because they do not have a way to dump the trash more than once a week, and they do this to maintain the cleanliness of the shop. I was also told that there was a place directly across the street that I can dump food. I think instead of people forgoing this establishment because of the review posted by Adee they should listen to the fact that she went for two years to this place because Yasmine is good.

Today I visited the shop today and I am again pleased with my hair results. Today I got color, a steam treatment and single two strand twists. I was in the shop for four hours… It has taken three hours to do my hair in this style before… It takes me even longer. I am again pleased with my visit.
