super good and has a very authentic look and taste to it. There is something for everyone vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters :)

I particularly liked the Chelsea Market styled setting. The ramen was a little bland, but after I added the spicy sauce it was elevated to decent status. Pork belly was fatty but surprisingly well marinated. I appreciate that they did not load the broth with sodium and msg. One side note: I honestly wouldn’t recommend ordering the hot teas here. They blatantly give you a packet and some hot water, which felt especially careless at a ramen place. For the price, I expected at least brewed green tea.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. Always good food, helpful and friendly staff, and seems like a good value. When the market is busy it can be crowded and noisy, but it doesn’t bug me for a ramen joint. The menu is simple, but there are enough options to make it interesting and manageable. And it’s all really tasty! I’ve settled on usually getting the laksa ramen with thick wavy noodles. But the standard ramen is a must. And even the veggie noodles and coconut rice are great options.

Great ramen! Good ox-tongue bun special too! Very cool place in the back of the market.

We went there about 5 times. The noodles were good but sometimes the soup was too salty. The same soup tasted different every time.

I thought this place would be better. The soup was too thin and had too much ginger. The noodles were too starchy. The tempura wasn’t crispy and didn’t have much flavor. I would come to the market again because it is nice but the Ramen is a meh.

I really enjoyed my ramen. I got the seafood curry. Delicious. The only issue I had was the server. We had a female who had the personality of a damp mop. She was so focused on chewing her bubble gum like a cow chews its cud that she was unable to formulate words. The woman was downright rude and totally worthless. I’m angry that I actually tipped her.

We came to the market so everyone could pick what they wanted to eat and I can’t help but eat ramen in every town I’m in nowadays. Gotta admit, pleasantly surprised how delicious my tonkatsu ramen was. I loved fried pork belly and the pork confit was pretty delicious too. I added extra corn and enoki mushrooms and everything was wonderful. I hated the big ladle spoon though, it made it hard to eat. However, I’d say the ramen was exceptional and I would love to come back and eat it again.

The standard of comparison for traditional Japanese ramen options in Baltimore are somewhat lacking. That being said, I was surprisingly satisfied with the moderate-sized portion and tasty broth at this little place in Belvedere Square. The broth was the highlight of the bowl here. The noodles left a little something to be desired in texture. The ingredients were fresh and the service was friendly. We came for lunch on a weekend afternoon when the market was fairly busy, but it was all service with a smile. I’ll likely be back. 3.5 stars rounded to 4 for now. — — — — — — — — — — — – Explanation of my rating system — 5*: Epitome of something, the best I’ve had, would LOVE to go back 4*: Great food and happy to go back regularly, but not the best of the category 3*: Food is fine. I may spontaneously decide to go there based on convenience. But no need to go back either. 2*: If you insist, I guess I’ll come along. I’ll find something to eat. But I wouldn’t have picked it. 1*: No plans to come back. I’ll try to talk companions out of going.

The brothiest broth in All Brothdom!!! Got the pork ton lays ramen, which is exquisite. The pork tonkatsu itself is spectacular! Well battered and fried, succulent when you bite in. Noodles are very good. Soft boiled egg is a treat. But the broth is the star for me: not too salty, deeply flavorful yet very balanced, loaded with umami! Definitely coming back for more. Plus I’ll have to try the rest of their offerings.

Yum Yum — my boyfriend and I were craving ramen so we decided to go all the way to belvedere market. I love the market, it’s so cute and pretty inside. we went to ejji ramen, which has a couple of tables and a booth, and ordered two of the same ones(tonkatsu) and mmmmmm the bowl came with huge pieces of chasu and pieces of pork in the broth. broth was very very good. it had great depth, and the meat was priceless. all for $ 12! only complaint I had is that there was so much meat that it tasted a little too much(lol) service was great also. the host/waiter was very accommodating, and we really enjoyed our dinner. I would highly recommend!

I was hungover and hoped some ramen would bring me back to life so my boyf suggested we go to Ejji. You can make your own(broth/sauce, noodles, toppings) or pick one of their mainstays. They also have a couple of rice bowls if you aren’t into ramen. I opted for the Tonkotsu ramen. The broth was amazing, so amazing in fact, that I ended up having to steal some of my boyfriends broth so that I wasn’t eating a clump of noodles. The pork belly was great, I suggest eating it first because it gets a little soggy if you leave it for too long. Will definitely be back to try some other options!

I came here for my birthday! I was super excited to try this place since some have been calling it the best ramen in Baltimore! We started with the ramen dog, which is a hot dog wrapped in fried ramen served with an apricot wasabi mustard. While this is definitely a novelty food, it was BOMB. The noodles were very crispy and the sweet mustardy sauce complements the saltiness of the hotdog very well. For my main, I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with the thick wavy noodles. Let me break it down: — Broth(tonkotsu): very creamy and savory, but could use a little more flavor — Noodles(thick, wavy): chewy, perfectly cooked noodles — Meat(pulled pork & pork belly): pork belly was PERFECTION, almost worth substituting for a double order of pork belly — Others: The miso egg was super delicious and perfectly done The location is pretty cool! It’s located in the marketplace, so after your dinner you can walk around and peruse the goods. Overall, very very good ramen! I don’t know if I would call it to the best in Baltimore. I might prefer the ramen at Dooby’s but still very very good.

Belvedere Square has renovated and there are a bunch of new faces — one being Ejji Ramen. This is the same family who does Chocolatea and people have been raving about their noodle bowls for as long as I can remember. The idea of ramen and noodles draws you over to the counter. Well, that plus the creative lighting and inviting space and staff. There are several tables that belong to Ejji. Have a seat and they offer full service. They also have counter, where you can still have full service, but see the kitchen and watch the masters at work. This is where I sit, because I like to banter with the industry folks. They have added a bar service to the menu with a few local beers, limited wine choices and sake. But, we didn’t come there for the sake — we sat down for the ramen. I personally found the menu slightly overwhelming with choices. There are a lot of choices — step 1 include picking a broth, then step two is your noodles — you can have rice noodles, classic thick wavy ramen noodles, or even noodles made of veggies like squash and carrot. Then you add as many of the 1000 topping choices and a sauce. Whew! I started to want everything, so I let the staff do all the work and picked a ramen bowl already created. The vegetarian Miso Ramen made with the sweet miso corn broth and the thick wavy ramen noodles. All of their bowls are topped with crispy shallots and scallions. But my bowl came with crunchy corn, softened bamboo shoots and a ton of gorgeous enoki mushrooms. They also added my favorite thing — a poached egg. I opted for the pickled shishito sauce for a little extra spice. I added the sauce, broke apart the egg and mixed it all together. This is a huge meal. I could only eat about half. The pork sauce is good, much saltier than the corn miso broth, but goes really well with the chunks of pork belly, ya know, if you are into that sort of thing. I also recommend the veggie noodles. They keep their firmness and give you some added nutrients. I can’t wait to go back. So far, Ejji is one of the more impressive spots in the market — from food to personality. Please go check them out.

Located in Belvedere square, Ejji ramen appears to be a casual ramen stand within a cute, bustling marketplace just outside of Baltimore city. There is a little bar-like area where you can sit and watch chefs prepare ramen. There are also little wooden tables to sit. The menu provides multiple options — you can pick your own meat, noodles, toppings, and broth OR you can have a pre-chosen version. The service was excellent and we were given all of the broths to sample — I felt that the tonkotsu pork broth was the most to my taste, those the laksa seafood broth was also very unique and rich. I also chose thick & wavy noodles, pork belly, egg, and the red sambal sauce(which is the spiciest sauce option). Taste was on par and the red sambal sauce provided the nice burn that I look for. My only gripe is that they were stingy with the toppings, and thus the presentation. They only provided 2 small cubes of pork belly, and one half of an egg, for my 11 $ ramen. Parking ample in lot within marketplace. Definitely recommend if you have a ramen craving and you are in the area.

Located in Belvedere square, we drove all this way to try the ramen. I was very excited seeing the high ratings of this place. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon and we had the tonkatsu and laksa curry seafood ramen. The seating area is pretty loud and if you want water, you may have to come up and grab it yourself. The tonkatsu ramen at first bite was very good: rich and thick. However, it quickly became too salty and thick. Similarly the egg and other ingredients were loaded with too much salt for my taste. However, the pork belly was delicious: tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Overall, I still enjoyed the dish though and would consider coming back to try this again maybe for dinner and not when I was a hungry lunch patron. The laksa seafood curry was perhaps one of the most disappointing parts of our lunch. Having loved Chocolatea(a sister restaurant), we were excited for a ramen that mimicked the delicious malakka laksa we regularly order. The broth was very thick and too salty and strong for me. On top of that, we tried the thick noodles so the dish became very heavy. We had a vegetable as well as tempura shrimp and the shrimp quickly became coated in the thick broth/sauce and made the dish very heavy. We felt a bit sick after trying to finish everything. This may just be personal preference though and we just won’t order it again. Overall, we were a bit disappointed with the ramen but it was not bad. It can get a bit pricey if you make your own bowl and want to add a lot of different toppings, but still a decent place to get ramen.

I wish Ejji was in the city :( After going to Ten Ten Ramen so many times, I’m finally done with it. Ejji’s ramen seems to be more authentic and the pork belly is on point. The pork belly is a bit crispy and will melt in your mouth. I loved the broth. I don’t know why others are complaining that it was too salty. If you guys think it’s too salty, then you must like eating bland food. I thought the broth was perfect and very flavorful. Ten Ten’s spicy miso broth is extremely salty(probably full of msg too), so when I had Ejji’s. I fell in love. Ejji is also slightly cheaper than what I am used to paying for ramen! I can see a few downfalls, but nothing that would prevent me from giving them 5 stars. There’s limited parking and limited seating if you come on a busy day. Regardless, I’d still come here any chance I get!

Still making my way around the Belvedere Square and thought the hubby and I would take some homemade ramen home. Nothing like Ramen and/or homemade chicken noodle soup, it just warms the soul and makes your tummy feel happy all over. Unfortunately, we didn’t make it past the sampling. The census on the tonkatsu broth was that it was way too salty to even enjoy the savory qualities of the roasted pork bones and the vegetarian option of corn miso, was a total miss. I enjoyed the corn, but when co-mingled with the miso, it seemed to be a pairing unjustly made. A quick glance at the menu and this placed seemed in having many other, interesting options. Note — no chicken broth. Pork, vegetable & seafood broths.

Think they deserve a higher rating than their current 3.5 stars. Nestled inside Belvedere Sq, it adds a little diversity to sandwiches, soups etc. Staff working are friendly and willing to educate curious browsers. We opted for the tonkatsu ramen(which you can green sambal or other homemade delicious sauces). Today, we were lucky to do the optional Japanese A5 wagyu addition to our ramen. So, the serving size is generous, but not over the top. The broth was rich with enough umami-ness to be compared to other famous ramen joints. I would have preferred a bit more broth but that’s just my preference. The noodles are Sun brand… and if you know ramen it’s one of the non homemade medium production brands great places use. The soft boiled egg was perfect and the crispy pork belly was great. We’re looking forward to trying their other dishes and wish them continued success. Belvedere sq really is getting better. Bring your stretchy pants and your appetite.

Wow. New favorite spot in Baltimore. Love the food and adore the attentive and caring staff. Also located in the Belvedere market, which is basically my new favorite thing. When another ramen spot was closed on Sunday, this place was open for business and ready to take my money. I am so glad that they were, since I was having a craving for ramen. Have not had phở/ramen this authentic since leaving LA, the phở/ramen capital of the US. First time I came in, had to Tonkosu ramen with pork belly. Beyond satisfying and delicious. Broth was flawlessly flavored, noodles were fresh and delicious, veggies and bean sprouts were plentiful. Huge chunks of lightly sweetened barbecued pork belly accompanied by delicious pulled pork sprinkled throughout. Egg was so perfect, adding a lovely consistency to the broth. Demolished entire bowl quickly along with some of the freshest organic warm green tea I’ve had in a while. I could feel the antioxidants running through my system. Was eager to get back in and see if they could make magic happen again… And they did. This time had the Laksa(seafood) ramen with extra bean sprouts. DELICIOUS. Freshly made fishballs, thick fish flakes, clam muscle and a delicious piece of tempura shrimp. Flavored differently from the Tonkosu ramen, but still delicious. I order the green tea once again, but also took sips from my boyfriends melon soda, which was also yummy(was wondering what that tasted like). If none of their options appeal to you, they have it set up to where you can create your own special bowl of ramen. You can pick everything. Add your own broth, meat, veggies and fixings, along with your own special side sauce. Not in the mood for ramen? That’s cool. They do rice plates and bowls if you like. Staff is beyond sweet, friendly and helpful at all times. Think I saw the owner lurking in the background today, making sure his kitchen was running tight. Service was speedy and so right. You literally can’t lose. Will be back to hold my dukedom title shortly.
