Fat Larry’s

We ordered for lunch from my job, the order came VERY quickly, however the fries were bland as ever even though they appeared to be seasoned. Half of my sub was soggy, we had Jack Daniel’s Wings, Old Bay Wings & Fat Larry’s BBQ Crab wings, all lacked flavor except for the Old Bay.

I’ve been here quite a few times with coworkers when I worked closer to this location.
The server is awesome. Very friendly! The cook is good, too. Recommended what and what not to order. I always get the same think. Cheesesteak and tater tots. Can’t beat that. Decent price and the break is nice soft. Stop by if you’re ever in Fed Hill.

One out of every ten cheesesteaks that I order I prefer a slightly better quality ribeye cheesesteak from fat larry’s. The other nine times I’m across the street eating the more delicious cheesesteak at magerk’s.

The reason for the first two sections being «N/​A» is because I ordered online and had take-​out. So I wasn’t able to determine a score for them. However, from placement of order to my order being ready was pretty quick.
The steak sandwich I got was amazing. I got the Italian steak sandwich with bacon and the amount of meat was very generous while not overpowering. I could taste the cheese, bacon and all the toppings. It was very delicious.
The selection was also a lot to choose from. I don’t know if there online menu (via Unilocal) is smaller than there in house menu, but it was still good.
The price is very reasonable for the amount of food that get and the food is delicious.
The online downside to my review, and I wanted to give it 4/​5, was the fact that my sweet potato fries were sub par. They were soggy with moisture and a little on the cold side. It seemed like they were microwaved before I got them, and I couldn’t get over that fact. I was expecting my fries to be amazing because I love sweet potato fries, but I was let down. I am sure they would be better if you bought them fresh, but this is what I experienced.
Overall, I would recommend this place to any fan of cheesesteak sandwiches, but if you want fries make sure they are fresh.

LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS!!! Just got wings and a philly sub. Seriously, the bread looks like it was dunked in water. I’m sure this is meat, just wondering what breed of horse the came from. And the wings, well ummm they are wing. I think they came from an anorexic humming bird.
What a waste.

Ordered from work. Got the Philly cheese steak. I got the regular 8 in. There was much more bread than meat. Tasted good but very little meat. I know they have the fatty Philly and I guess they try to push you to order it by skimping on the regular. Not getting either again
Also ordered the veal parm and it was overcooked and dry. Bread was also very dry and I couldn’t find the Parm. This not the first time I have been disappointed by fat Larry. Its not going to happen again. Most of the guys in the office don’t want to order from Fat Larry’s anymore.

The food was delicious. The price was reasonable and the amount of food was big. First time trying whiz cheese. Loved it! Our waiter was super nice and polite.

Was in a late night hunger jam after an exhausting day of traveling. Fat Larry delivered to my hotel room at midnight. The Philly Cheesesteak was perfect, hot, juicy and cheesy.

Had some good wings try the Kanesecret sauce wings… (moonshine and bbq sauce). Great happy hour prices. Happy Hour prices last all night and starts at noon on Saturdays and last all night long

I ordered the most expensive cheesesteak on the menu, and when I got home, I realized there was absolutely no cheese on my sandwich. You would think that a cheesesteak would at least come with cheese – the operative being CHEESE! Amazing that a cheesesteak jont can’t even remember to put cheese on its sandwich.

Yum. Great steak, good rolls. Liked the red hots and even asked for more. Yes, only four stars cuz it’s a bit expensive.

Let start off by saying I’m from Philly and I love cheese steaks. When I heard about Fat Larry’s I couldn’t wait to try it. The roll was right but the other ingredients didn’t give me that authentic cheese steak taste I’m use to from any sandwich shop in Philly.

I ordered from here on Seamless (one of my FAVORITE things to do, so I really appreciated that they were on the site!). The food was good, but they forget all the extras I asked for on the side. My food was delivered quickly. I would probably order again though. I got a cheese burger that was super yummy.

I ordered take out from here several times and although most times it has not been as bad as the most recent order, I felt that the public should be warned to not waste your money on this place. I ordered a chicken cheese steak, standard item. The bread was so soggy that it fell apart, I could not pick it up. The cheese on it had soaked into the bread so it was non-​existent and it was cold. I also had cheese fries. How can you mess up cheese fries?! They were so gross I threw them out. They looked as if they had been sitting out for days. Again, cold, all the cheese clumped together on the fries and the fries were stale.
The worst part of this was when I called to complain after getting home and seeing my food, the counter clerk was so rude and immediately placed me on hold. Don’t waste your money at this place. You will regret it.

I hesitated in deciding on three or four stars. Didn’t get a cheesesteak so I won’t get into the whole «Philly authentic» blah blah, mostly because I just don’t care. Those Philly people are only here because Balt is cooler than Philly.
Anyway — Fat Larry’s. First, to those of you screaming expensive, use the Unilocal 6 for 12 check in special, which I noticed too late to use. That’s half price people. Second, the service was fast and friendly, even though we were there very late in a rather «animated» state. Third, the fries were pretty good, and I have pretty high standards for same. Fourth, it was too late to get alcohol but you can pop into Nobles next door an bring back a beer or six.
I left it at three stars because the space is cramped, and the cheeseburger was good but nothing special. Good late night fare in a convenient location

I went the other night because of the Unilocal deal they had. Loved the taste of the steak — the meat, Wiz, Onions, and hot peppers were right on, but Larry should look into getting his bread from another vendor. The bread looked delish, but unfortunately fell apart after I picked it up and tried eating the hoagie. You know, one of those types of breads where you can’t actually keep anything IN the roll, it just all squishes out onto the plate? I gave up trying to eat it like a hoagie and it was more like bread with cheesesteak dip. On the other hand, the fries were amazing — thin, but super crispy outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. I had them with Old Bay. They also have a good selection of beer.
Please, Larry — fix your rolls!

Well, well, well
a co-​worker had purchased a groupon this time and I told her I would place the ordering but, I didn’t want anything. I should have stuck with my first instinct. Only because she didn’t have enough to make up the order I added on a grilled chicken caesar salad. Well I will initially take the blame to not sticking with what they specialize in but, I just was not feeling eating much food today so I thought I would be safe with just a salad. Where do I start?
There was way too much lettuce in the salad and I could have appreciated it if I didn’t keep finding wilted pieces. The chicken was the best part of the salad. The cheese was melted on the salad. Yuck just nasty. I forced down as much of the salad as I could but, it was torture to my stomach.
I should have just left well enough alone. I should not have ordered anything unless it was a sub.

First real Philly steak place that I can recommend to someone from Philly being from Philly myself.
For those from Philly, Larry’s style is a lot like West Philly steak places like Abners, Jim’s or even St Joe, s Larry’s.

We got delivery from here and it was as good as a delivery experience could be. Two main reasons are that the delivery literally took 25 minutes, shortest its ever been and the food arrived fresh and hot which never usually happens. The original cheesesteak and the chicken italiano sandwich were both very good. Downsides were that the fries (both sweet potato and old bay) were terrible. So terrible that my 15 month old who will NEVER say no to fries actually gave me ½ of his sweet potato fry back and I couldn’t blame him. They were flavorless and over-​cooked. The baltimore fries on the other hand seemed like they were stale. Also, lady on the phone who took our order could have been way nicer than she was. There was certainly major room for improvement.
We would get takeout from here again regardless because of the speed and overall quality. We just won’t get fries again.

Not really anything to write home about. It was a decent cheese steak, a bit expensive for a sandwich that came with chips instead of fries. I got two cheese steaks, one to take home for lunch tomorrow. My big disappointment with them was that the wiz was put on the bread instead of directly onto the meat and there wasn’t enough of it.
They do offer wi-​fi and they have a coffee shop open late in the back. I will try to stop back in and try the coffee as offering a full service lunch/​dinner menu along with coffee is getting them four stars right now, even though the food is only 3 stars.
