On June 18, 2012 we purchased two GPS locators from Global Tracking Group for $ 420. We also paid a one-time activation fee of $ 114, and $ 39.95 a month for the tracking service. With shipping and handling the entire investment was $ 610, plus $ 39.95 a month. We needed these devices to track luggage when company personnel travelled so we could recover lost luggage. The locators arrived June 25. Well, the accuracy of the devices was a let-down. The closest we ever came during tests was an error of a quarter mile, much more than the 30 to 90 feet the owner of Global Tracking Group assured us. He told us the problem was with the cell towers, or where we placed the devices. We kept testing and adjusting until we got tired of wasting time. When we tried to return the devices, we were told we couldn’t. We insisted we wanted to return them only because what he sold us was defective, not because we changed our minds. No deal. We had to pay another $ 300 to terminate the tracking. Now we are stuck with useless, expensive equipment after paying $ 990.
