On a late night, in a city I don’t belong to, I found myself at the doors steps of Homeslyce with the hope of destroying the unbearable pizza craving I was feeling. Through the door I was met with a dreamy aroma of fresh bread and garlic. The atmosphere unlike your average pizza joint and their staff very hospitable. With a very optional menu, my usual choice being the«personal slice» even though the size suggest something more than personal. I find that I’m mentioning Homeslyce any time the topic of pizza comes up in conversation. *Aside from the food, I feel somewhat inclined to mention the music. I was not once let down by their choice of song.

I come to this bar 3 or so times a week after work. The staff is extraordinarily friendly; they’re always willing to talk about your day. The bartenders make great drinks — shout out to Katie, Danica, and Jess! The service is quick and the food is phenomenal(steak sandwich is to die for). City renowned pizza. Free pool table. What else more could you want in this comfortable atmosphere?! Management runs a great restaurant here!

The pizza salad is so yummy and different. The pizza crust on the 10 inch is just right. Not too thin or thick. Dan waited on us and gives super service and is very friendly.

Dough was very gooey. Felt, and tasted, under-cooked.

This place is awesome. One of the better pizza bars that I’ve seen. If you are looking for a drink I would NOT suggest the watermelon margarita. Too much tequila and not enough watermelon. Not very well made. Aside from that my fiancé and I ordered pickle fries and the strongmans meat pizza. Both were fantastic. Would suggest it to anyone looking for a place to chill with friends while enjoying great food. Just stay away from the watermelon margies

I love that they are often the only place in the neighborhood still serving food, even on a Sunday. I was there Sunday, the waitress was super busy but still managed to provide friendly service. Great menu and food! Nice atmosphere.

I had a great experience here! I went out with a group of about 10 or so individuals and we were able to call ahead and get a chance to reserve a table for us on a Friday night. This was one of the few restaurants in the Baltimore area that allowed us to actually have a seat prior to our whole party arriving. They have a great selection of pizzas and they have two ways they come, like a regular pizza and then what they call the«Slyce.» The«Slyce» looks just like a pizza boat. It was described as having the same amount of pizza as the 10″ pizza but with more crust. Unfortunately, none of us were game for trying it but we all did order the 10″ pizza as individual pizzas. I got the vegetarian pizza and it was delicious! I totally overestimated how much I could eat but that was okay because I took the rest of it as leftovers and they were still fantastic the next day. This is also located on Charles street which has a lot of cute restaurants and shops that would be fun to check out if you came to eat here!

My friend and I came right before closing and our server was so kind and gladly got to taking care of us. We order half pepperoni and sausage and half chicken. This pizza was so good. The crust was thin but not too thin. I love pizza when it’s lip licking greasy, but this pizza wasn’t and I actually liked that. The sauce tasted different though it wasn’t sweet as what I am used to, but nonetheless I really loved the flavors of this pizza. The vibe of this place is awesome! There were customers still there when I came. The atmosphere is very chill and quiet maybe since I came towards closing. The woods and the dark lighting was nice. It’s a cool place and there’s even a pool table. I will definitely be back again.

Just experienced my first delivery of this restaurant… First time ever eating anything from this place… I’ve never even stepped foot in there… But let me tell you… WOW!!! AND I’M PICKY. It’s hard to mess up pizza, but it’s also an art to make it great… These guys have got it down. Down to the exquisite crust… all I can say is… Thank you…

Hey, I like everything! The food was amazing. Every time when I walk in they have specials. I want to mention that Helen is a good server-bartender. She provide a good service for me, thank you Helen. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and come here again! If you’ll be there try their Nutella desert, and pizza!

I reluctantly went to Homeslyce for trivia night a few weeks ago when I was in Baltimore on business. I used to write trivia and I wasn’t eager. I’m glad one of my coworkers convinced me to stop being such a crab and come out because I had a great time. First let me say that the personal size is definitely enough for two people to share though none of us did! I had the spinach and eggplant calzone. I’d been craving one for over a year and you just can’t find them in Chicago. In fact, good luck finding a decent calzone at all in Chicago. This was probably one of the best calzones I’ve ever had. The atmosphere at the bar was great and the trivia was fun. The best thing is how cheap everything is! Wine, pizza, calzones and more without breaking the bank. They should open up a location in Chicago. Just sayin’.

I have to say, I am very disappointed with the service I received tonight. A few days ago, a friend of mine called to make a reservation for 9 people for a friends 30th birthday dinner. When we arrived, we stated that we had a reservation and gave our name. They brought us to a table that was very small and barely fit 7 seats. We asked if another table could be pulled up, and they replied no because the tables were bolted to the wall. Our server attempted to split us up between two tables on opposite walls, then magically pulled up another table(that she claimed was bolted to the wall minutes before) so we could all stay together. We were obviously upset/confused by this nonsense considering we made a reservation days before(so they knew we were coming). My friend is vegetarian, so I ordered two orders of nachos for the table. I asked if we could get the chilli on the side since we had a vegetarian sharing the app, and they said no(even though I was charged for it…) when the nachos arrived, nothing was on them! Just a plate with a handful of olives and a little cheese! I will attempt to post a picture here to show you… Needless to say, I will not be returning. The only reason I gave two stars was for the pizza(pretty good) and half price bottle of wine(even though we had to remind our waitress of the special that was advertised since she had no clue)

Great pizza! Fresh ingredients, balanced flavors. The first time we came, we got a veggie pizza and added beef pepperoni(I don’t eat pork, and most of the meat options are pork on the other pizza combinations). The pizza itself was good, but I wasn’t too fond of the beef pepperoni. It tasted really oily and was cut extremely thick. The second time we just outright got the veggie. It was perfect. Just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. The crust was a nice flavor, and it wasn’t too thin or too thick. I always receive stellar service; food came out quickly and hot, and the servers are always nice. So, I have no complaints related to that. As far as other items on the menu, I didn’t really like their fries. Wings are okay. Nonetheless, I still recommend them for pizza.

I loved this place. I had the boat slyce with mozzarella and mushrooms just because I’m cutting down on meat and it was very flavorful. The pizza crust is crispy yet soft, the cheese is melted and has a nice salty taste. I highly recommend you try it. Pretty good beer selection as well.

We finished the night off with HomeSlyce 336. The atmosphere is very approachable and laid back, seems like good venue to chill. Had it not been for our day of gallivanting around Federal Hill, and eating everything in sight, the 10 inch share-able«HomeSlyce Classic» pizza was a bit small. Otherwise, it was one damn good-pizza. Perfect balance of chewy, crispy and yummy HomeSlyce was very inviting with no fuss or pretense. I liked how the restaurant was very much focused on pizza. On the other end of the bar there is free access to a pool table. From there you have clear views of multiple TVs too, making the pool table an ideal place to hang-out. As we were leaving, there was a cover-band setting up and we saw on a poster that on weekends they have live music which is cool. Open: 11am-1:30am daily

Currently my favorite pizza place in Baltimore, and very glad they turned me on to Shiner’s White Wing beer. Go and get the Slyce, it’s original & excellent. Disclosure: I was vegan for 10 years, and am currently vegetarian. Last year I would have given HomeSlyce 5 stars for the excellent Slyce, delicious fries(sauce, really), good service, and total vegan friendliness. Though I’m not vegan anymore, I really liked a couple of the meat substitutes which really opened up the options on the menu. As of my last visit a while ago, they no longer offer these(weren’t selling enough to justify it), so I had to deduct a star since I can no longer get some of my favorite items. That being said, I have gone here several times over the past few years as a 2 top to a 6 top and have almost always had great experiences.

I work around the corner from their Mt. Vernon location, and our department orders from here about once a week. The food is GREAT, and I’ve heard the dine-in service is good. Despite the great food, we have had awful luck with our carry-out orders. My co-workers and I have tried everything from faxing in orders, to placing them online, to ordering a day in advance, to telephoning at various times the day of(or day(s) before) our desired pickup. Our food has never been ready on time. Honestly, our food has never been ready within 30 minutes of the prescribed time. Then when we get the order back to the office(with only 15 minutes left of our break), the order is incorrect. We usually just eat whatever and ignore the mistakes because we don’t have time to go back and exchange the items for correct ones. Today, the same thing happened; I caved and finally called. The carryout person who answered was dismissive. I think she thought I was asking for a handout, but in reality, I just wanted them to get the order correct and on time! After she offered me 15% off our department’s next order, I just said«okay» and hung up. Homeslyce, we don’t want a discount — we want your awesome food(the correct order) when you say it will be ready so we can actually enjoy it! :-(Please fix this so we can keep our weekly Homeslyce tradition!

Sip I originally tried a sample of their pizza at a Unilocal event I had previously attended after trying it is thought it was super good and had it on my list of places to visit. Much to my surprise I was browsing Groupon and saw they had a special and jumped at the chance to get one. I took my mom and daughter since we are all big pizza lovers. We went on a Saturday afternoon and I was kind of surprised to see it wasn’t crowded. I really like the atmosphere of the actually restaurant it was definitely hip and somewhere in would come to just hang out. I got a pizza with sausage and pepperoni that I absolutely loved and the crust was really good as well. Also the service was awesome so no complaints here. I’ll definitely be returning to visit them!

Boyfriend and I came here looking for a place open for lunch on a Sunday. We’re seriously surprised at the number of f places closed. This place was largely empty at noon on a Sunday. We liked the ambiance of the place and it looked like it had a nice bar. We didn’t try any drinks /beers though. Bf and I shared a homeslyce classic pizza 10 in. It was pretty good. I loved all the flavors, loved the slightly tart/sweet sauce(had balsalmic maybe?) and the mushrooms and everything. I dunno if it was just the day, and maybe I was just craving tomato sauce that day, but I thought it could use a little more acidity/some tomatoes/tomato sauce to give it just a little bit more. Other than that, the crust was pretty good, fluffy and we both finished off the 10 in and felt comfortably full afterwards. My only complaint would be our waitress Asia, who I thought was pretty stand-offish considering we were 1 of 3 groups there. When we asked her questions, she gave very vague and unhelpful answers as if she didn’t want to answer anything. We paid for our pizza in cash, and she also did not give us our change(like coins). She just gave us dollar bills. I find that unacceptable. You can’t just keep our coins assuming we’d give them to you as tip… That pissed me off. Sorry, but yes, I’m deducting a star for that.

Good pizza place! Actually, my favorite thing on the menu is the spinach and eggplant calzone. It’s one of the better calzones I’ve ever had. It has spinach and eggplant, obviously, but also delicious caramelized onions, tomatoes, and cheese. Really good, large portion, heavy on the crust, served with a side of delicious marinara. The meat calzone was pretty good, too, although I think they could disperse the cheese more evenly throughout in both calzones, rather than just a bunch of ricotta all in one spot. I’ve also enjoyed their spinach pie appetizer. They make it in a unique way, the spinach is rolled in a long tube of dough, then coiled to make a round spinach pie. Delicious, and aesthetically interesting! For those gluten-free folks, this is a good location! They make a gluten-free pizza crust that, according to my friend, is much better than most gluten-free crusts. Not sure what’s going on with the salads– I tried to order one online and it said they were no longer offering that item, or something like that. Hopefully that’s a mistake– I would assume they still make salads, there is maybe a glitch in the ordering system. I haven’t had delivery, but takeout has always taken 5 – 10 minutes longer than predicted. Every time I’ve picked up I’ve gotten there before it’s ready and had to wait. Better than the alternative though; the food is always hot and fresh!
