This was our second time coming here. I highly recommend you get there early and ask that your food arrive hot to your table. Our waiter, Chad, was attentive, as was the manager on duty, Gabby. We’ll be back!

My love for Miss Shirley’s goes back many years, to when I was in my first year of college at Loyola and we’d trek up the hill to the Roland Park location for special celebrations. Now I’m nowhere within walking distance, but I do what I can to make sure I get there during every trip to Baltimore. My boyfriend never understood why I bemoaned the lack of brunch menu options at our local Philly spots until now. He finally came with me on a visit back to Bmore, and so I got to show him the magic of Miss Shirley’s, whose menu makes it nearly impossible to choose just one dish. I couldn’t be swayed from my tried and true favorite though — the raspberry white chocolate chip pancakes. We did, however, start with the biscuits, which was an excellent decision — they contained some combination of peaches and poppy seeds that was out of this world. My bf went with the chicken and waffles which came with jalapeño butter, which he seemed to love(ate almost the entire plate, saving just enough for a midnight snack later). Yes, there might be a bit of a wait(or possibly a very long wait on the weekends), but yes, it is absolutely worth it. And for what it’s worth, we walked in around 9:30am on a sunny Saturday and were seated immediately(it pays to rise and shine!) Oh Miss Shirley’s, how I do wish you were still in walking distance — hopefully I’ll be back again soon!

Been here several times and they are consistently good. This is a popular restaurant so be prepared to sign your name on a list and wait 20 minutes + on a slow day. The drinks are great, the chicken is good and the pancakes are good. The prices are fair and the service is good. Downtown Baltimore can be busy so the parking can suck but I recommend you try it out anyhow.

You will leave with a food coma for sure! Delicious breakfast and brunch. Stuffed french toast will cure your hangover right away and get you ready for another day of fun. As always, get a side of bacon too. The menu is full of options for everyone. Sweet. Salty. Savory. Miss Shirley’s has got it all. They have great fresh lemonade, too. My favorite is classic eggs and toast with a mimosa.

Very good brunch option in Inner Harbor, Baltimore. My friends and I ordered their 2 specias: coconut French toast and crab cake as well as waffle samples. The food was great & huge portion. Ambient atmosphere. The reasons why the place doenst get more stars are: Their signature drink, Miss Mimosa was not good, just very bland. The food although good, was typical brunch food, nothing I’d be crazyyy about. Also there was a fly in my coffee. The waitress was kind enough to bring me a new one and not charge me for it. But fly in food/drink kinds of makes me cringe. And the waitress never once apologized for that. With that said, I think Miss Shirley is a safe brunch options that I’d be willing to consider if I’m close by.

Yummmmm!!! Our family of 9 got to miss Shirley’s at 11:30am and we had to wait about an hr. We were starving, but the food was well worth the wait! Chicken and waffles: the chicken is cooked with a nice crunch in the outside and is pretty dry on the inside, but the good dry. The chicken was all chicken breast, it seemed like good quality stuff! The waffles were good and the butter that comes with it had a nice kick to it. Coconut cream stuffed French toast: this was ANAZING! I love this French toast!!! The cream filling wasn’t overly sweet, but had such a nice coconut flavor to it. It came with a few slices of strawberry, banana, and coconut shavings. The bread was nice and fluffy, not overly dense. The Alonsoville sandwich: this sandwich was nice and fresh. You can choose a side that comes with it, got the watermelon feta salad. Perfect for a summer meal if you’re not into the breakfast meals. I can’t wait to go back

I had a conference in the area and got there early and needed to eat and kill time so it served the purpose, but if I was in the area again I would look for somewhere else to eat. You get a lot of food. But I just about always prefer to have a smaller high quality dish than a shovel worth of not so great food. Everyone was friendly and attentive enough but when it comes down to the actual food I don’t think I even finished my meal and I can throw down with it comes to food.

So I was extremely excited to come here after seeing their other location on Diners Drive ins and Dives. From multiple friends and coworkers have received great feedback and people rave about it. Maybe it was the hype but this place was definitely disappointing. Between my fiancé and I we split 2 apps and 1 main lunch item. ordered the Crabby Mac Bites & fried Jalepeno stuffed with deviled eggs. Both apps were good — the crabby Mac bites could have used more actual lump crab over cheese but still delicious. The Jalepeno in the other app was wayyyyyy too spicy, I eat a ton of spicy food and my mouth was on fire for a while. We ordered the Souther Slammer Sandwich and split that thinking it would be amazing of the crispy fried green tomatoes and Avocado Mash it advertises. However, the bread came out soggy, barely any avocado mash, and the fried green tomatoes were also soggy. Overall, service didn’t make up for the poor sandwich and just okay apps. Might come back with a larger group bc it’s casual and nice outdoor seating but for just us 2 will probably find a diff place next time in Bmore

Hands down my favorite place for brunch! If one of these existed in Harrisburg, I would go every weekend. Whenever I go to a city with one I come here. I recommend getting whatever the stuffed French toast special is when you go. I have done this several times and always leave super full and very happy. They also have amazing omelettes. I will warn you that if you get a pancakes meal that involves meat the pancakes will be dry. This does bother some people but I am sure they would provide you will something to cover them in if you ask.

I heard from several people that I need to stop by Miss Shirely’s for brunch and I am certainly glad that I did. Their restaurant offers a flexible dining experience which allows individuals to dress up for any occasion or simply enjoy the day with their family casually as they eat here. Their menu is also very extensive which is sure to please anybody’s taste buds. There is a large variety of sweet, savory and seafood options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Do keep in mind that their portion sizes are quite large! But having leftovers is never a bad thing. Also, they are really busy here on Sunday mornings, so keep that in mind! I do hope to come back here! My only concern is that they are a little pricier, but certainly well worth the wait!

Definitely a Baltimore staple but overall pretty average. If you’ve never been to Miss Shirley’s it is worth a try. Be prepared for a really long wait. There is a side bar you can order some morning drinks from which was nice. I must warn though that prices are pretty steep. For a Bloody Mary with all of the fixings — including bacon — will run you $ 18(w tax no tip included). The food is great and there are many choices. It does give I off a pretty franchised feel, which is fine, but when you’re in Baltimore you have the benefit of being right next to so many great restaurants. Both mom-and-pop joints as well as award-winning restaurants are close by and so it’s hard to compare such unique options to this place. They do certain things pretty well – grits, fried green tomatoes and hashbrowns. Service is also exceptional and pretty fast. In general, I don’t think it’s worth the effort you put in the wait and exceptionally difficult parking situation.

We were pretty excited to try Miss Shirley’s given its fame, but left feeling like it was all hype. I got the house special: crab cake po’boy. This sandwich had no flavor and didn’t taste different than grabbing one from a small fast food place in Annapolis or Baltimore. Forgettable. Bread wasn’t soft and didn’t complement the food. Sauce was okay, but didn’t elevate the taste beyond the fast food versions. The wife had raspberry white chocolate gluten free pancakes. I can confirm that she has made fluffier pancakes at home relatively easily, so they’re thick texture was a bit disappointing. At first, it seemed like the raspberries and white chocolate were only on top of the stack(!) but then we realized that they were layered in the stack… But only on one half of the stack. Needless to say that she didn’t eat the bland half. Overall, we’re sad this place wasn’t the great brunch place we were looking for. Gotta keep searching.

We were planning on heading some where else for breakfast but everyone told us we had to go here, so we did! It was still pretty early so there was a pretty short wait, about 15 minutes or so. We had our baby with us and were kind of set back with the hostess. She seemed totally spaced out. She initially asked us if we wanted a high chair for our son but we told her that he was fine in the stroller. Then she told us we couldn’t have our stroller in the dining area — which I always find extremely annoying. Why didn’t she just tell us that off the bat rather than asking us if we wanted a high chair. Don’t give us options if there really aren’t any! Once we were seated our waitress was very attentive. I ordered off the lighter side menu and got the crustless fritata. I was a little hesitant about ordering it but figured I would go the healthy route. It was delicious! It was seasoned so perfectly and it was so filling! The succoutash was delicious! The perfect item to accompany the dish! Topped it off with a mimosa and I was one happy mama!

Great brunch place. FOOD: The Coconut Cream Stuffed French Toast was amazing and was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The toast were 2 inches thick stuffed with a flavorful cream. The Crab Cakes were very good too with lots of lump crab and fresh seafood flavor. Yes it’s more on the expensive side, but I can understand since they don’t put a lot of fillers and it is mostly crab like it’s supposed to be. Fried Green Tomatoes were just okay, but I think it may because I haven’t tried many to compare it to. SERVICE: Got seated right away on a Sunday rainy morning at 8:30am. Waitress was nice and very attentive. Food came at a average time.

Finally made it to Miss Shirley’s! Met some girlfriends here for Sunday brunch and I enjoyed it. I was able to find street parking nearby and was surprised parking wasn’t free since it was a Sunday but it was only $ 5. I heard they offer validated parking at a garage but wasn’t sure which garage it was. They told us the wait would be an hour, but we were seated within 30 minutes. I don’t believe they take reservations so if dining with a large party, be prepared to wait. I ordered the chicken and waffles — deliciousness! *highly recommended* I ordered the Shirley’s crush and for me, it wasn’t all that(they were light on the liquor). I would come back here but I heard the cold spring location is better since it’s the original one. Maybe next time, I will check that one out!

I ventured out to Roland Park and Miss Shirley’s flagship location at the beginning of the week and liked it so much I visited the Inner Harbor location today. Last time, I ordered the Benne Seed chicken ‘n waffles, which were excellent. Today, though, I chose the grilled shrimp on top of grits on top of a fried green tomato. There were three of those, with five shrimp altogether. Being from the West, I’ve never experienced fried green tomatoes. I thought you could only eat them in the presence of Fannie Flagg, but I guess not. The combination of flavors was excellent. And it was very filling. The staff at this location, just as at Roland Park, was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Miss Shirley’s.

REVIEW for 3÷23÷16 I wish I knew Miss Shirley personally as I absolutely loved this place and I would be here everyday for breakfast! We had just got into town from FL and from the airport we came into the city to sight-see and have lunch. Miss Shirley’s had great reviews and the pictures looked good so we decided to give it try. And I’m so glad we did. It had just about every breakfast dish you could think of. We ordered the Benne Seed Honey Biscuits w/jam-so good, along with the Benne Seed Chicken/Waffles-YUM, and my girlfriend had the Crabcake and Fried Green Tomatoes Benedict. Our 10yr old girls had the kids bento box… which was perfect for them. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals along with our drinks that we had.

We came here for breakfast one day before a day at the aquarium. We arrived shortly after they opened and were seated in a nice booth. Our server got our drinks going quickly and gave us the run down of the menu and answered some questions we had. We started with the Monkey Bread which came out quickly. It was full of caramel and chocolate and was absolutely delicious. Definitely sweet but the fresh banana help to balance that out. We all ordered something different and we all loved out meals! I got the stuffed french toast which was amazing! The filling was rich but the coconut and the bruleed banana was amazing! It was so delicious I could only eat half. My husband had Shirley’s Aair with Oscar which he loved! The crab was fresh delicious and plentiful and the grits were creamy. My dad had the chicken and waffles and surprise loved it. The Peppadew-Jalapeño Butter with the waffles was so good, I need to know how to make my own. My mother had the Crab Happy Chesapeake Chicken Sammy and again was thrilled with her meal. The service was quick and friendly and the food amazing. We will definitely be back again.

Miss Shirley’s is a Breakfast and brunch spot In Inner Harbor Baltimore. The menu is extensive there are so many things to choose from that I told Kate we need to come back. It is a smaller restaurant but one that makes the most of the space they have. Me and Kate both got Coffee which was needed for our long drive that morning. Kate kept insisting we get the monkey bread for an appetizer. I was leaning towards the cornbread with blackberry bourbon jam but ultimately we got the monkey bread(girls always win). I ordered my first plate of chicken and waffles and Kate got the crab happy Chesapeake chicken Sammy. Let’s evaluate these things and break them down. Funky Monkey Bread: We got this without the pecans and let me tell you that it came out a minute from when we ordered it. It was shocking how fast it came out. It had chocolate morsels going around it with sliced bananas and chocolate drizzle sauce in a middle cup. It was so GOOD. Very sweet and could not and would not want to eat it all but was great! Benne Seed Chicken N Waffles– fried buttermilk chicken with drizzled Honey Mustard aioli than the waffles complement the chicken greatly. They put this peppadew jalapeño butter which tied the plate together. There was a mix of so many great flavors for this dish. Please order and be prepared to be stuffed. Crab Happy Chesapeake chicken Sammy– Kate said that the sandwhich was good but had an over taste of too much butter. She said the fried pickles in the sandwich brought the flavors all together. She would not get the sandwich again but she would love to taste another dish on the menu. I thought the sandwich was a little on the buttery side as well. Loved it here want to come back for the Amy’s Bagel.

Love. No complaints. It’s funny because as soon as I looked at the menu I groaned internally and cursed my friend for suggesting this as a pre-aquarium brunch trip. There were so many options that I assumed the food was going to be sub par, and the prices were very much Tourist Trap. I’m so happy to say I was wrong! I had their take on a BLT and some fresh squeezed orange juice. Omg. The bread was fluffy and soft. The chicken was tender. The aioli dressing the greens was perfect. The hash brown was nice and soft and generously portioned(some like it crispier– this was not the case). Even the small child at the tooo close table next us was well behaved. Definitely worth the money and I look forward to returning.

So my son turned 13 yesterday and we were visiting the USCGC Taney and decided to get brunch at this restaurant. I must say I was very disappointed. Firstly– like the other reviewers there are no vegetarian options or substitutes available. We had an issue with no red meat and pork and were asked to switch out the shrimp and grits to the salmon and grits. Well the salmon was dry and not juicy or even passably fresh. It smelled and was very very unpalatable. The corn bread was great as was the fried green tomatoes. The south western omelette was mediocre at best. The flavors did not meld and justify the price tag. I am sick right now with terrible stomach pangs and had to write about the quality of this establishment. Waste of time — waited for almost half an hour– money and definitely not worthy of the hype.

Miss Shirley’s is a favorite of my co-workers and after many visits I decided it was time to write a review. I have to say the place is just meh — nothing really stands out one way or another. The menu is a bit frustrating as there are next to no vegetarian options«as is» have to remove meat(and no meat free subs available) or order ala carte. I generally go for the Southern Slammer breakfast with the bacon on the side — which then goes to the fastest coworker. There fried green tomatoes are some of the better ones out there but they really vary from trip to trip. Sometimes they are overbreaded and on the soggy side while other times the tomatoes are too thick leaving them hard in the middle. Overall this is not a place I would go to on my own but there are worse places my coworkers could drag me.

I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of breakfast food. But this was good overall. The waitresses are very nice, and the service was on point. The cinnamon Danish pancakes were good, but there was an almost bitter aftertaste that wasn’t the most pleasant. Totally edible, but just a little distracting from the otherwise good flavor. The coconut French toast was good according to the person with me, and they enjoyed the fruits on the side of the plate that added some freshness to the dish. Overall, a good place to go though!

I’ve heard the hype about Miss Shirley’s and for once I was finally able to get myself together and try this place given the 7:00am-3:00pm hours. I usually only get a hankering for fried chicken after 530pm so yea it’s taken me over a year to get here BUT I finally did. And so did everyone else because the place was packed! After a festive Friday evening, I found myself here for breakfast around noon. They do not take reservations and there was a 30 min wait. Thankfully the table buzzer gets reception in the Marshalls two blocks away so I could do retail therapy while waiting for my brunch. After studying the menu extensively I ended up with Eddie’s beef and eggs. Not sure who Eddie is but I like that his dish had everything I came for: fried green tomatoes, steak, eggs, grits and a biscuit! But how was this smörgåsbord of breakfast items? Well I requested the fried green tomatoes on the side and they were perfect; a good crunch on the outside and that classic green tomato taste on the inside. The lemon aioli sauce took it over the top(yes I asked for a side of the sauce to resemble the appetizer-no judgement pls). The grits with heavy cream, marscapone and bacon bits didn’t last on the plate for more than 90 secs. Yep I inhaled them and that creamy texture is exactly how I like my grits. The bacon bits added a hint of salty flavor that was much appreciated. The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium. The steak was okay. I’m not a beef tenderloin fan but it was cooked as requested and tasty nonetheless. The biscuit freaked me out a bit after I opened it and saw something white. I thought perhaps it was not done but no it was butter or cream cheese. In any case, the biscuit was all of that. I should’ve ordered a basket to go. It was sweet with berry flavor, hint of spice and the texture was moist, like a homemade biscuit should be. I also ordered the blackberry, cranberry crush and it was delicious. The mint in the drink was very refreshing. I appreciated that they didn’t bring the drink in some fancy yet skimpy flute glass. They brought it in a mason jar so I got more than two sips and felt like I got my monies worth. The service was swift and attentive as well. I liked Shirley’s. I’d return. I wish they didn’t bankers hours but I am not knocking Shirley’s hustle. If I could have a restaurant thrive on bankers hours and I be able to have my nights and weekends to myself, I’d do it too.

In a ratings anomaly, I’d say Miss Shirley’s is a must-visit, but I can’t give it a 5-star review. Shirley’s Affair With Oscar gets the symbolic oven mitt on the menu, suggesting it’s one of their highlights. And the ingredient list seemed like a great way for someone indecisive and curious to hit several of the bases: crabmeat, grits, fried green tomatoes. Supporting players like diced bacon and Old Bay deliver the promised excitement, but the surprising disappointment at the center was the beef tenderloin filet. I’m no meat pro but this was unappealing. It would suffered in a test taste against the Food Lion steaks I fried with minimal finesse in 1995. Despite this disappointment, the dish reaffirmed that you should get any of the dishes with lumb crabmeat. It was sweet and well-prepared. They’re not buying the cheap stuff(I had a crab entrée years ago in the pre-Yelp era.) On the appetizer front, you need to get the conceptually simple yet spectacular grapefruit brulee. It will be messy but the sweet-and-sour contrast will give you a buzz. There’s a high probability of a wait, even on a weekday.

Baltimore Trip #2 Where I live in Hampton Roads, I don’t think I’ve ever seen 1,000 reviews for any one place. My friend requested waffles for breakfast, and when I saw that Miss Shirley’s Café(MSC) had 1,000+ reviews with a 4-star average, we were off. It was also right across the street from our hotel, which was a big plus since it was frigid outside. I read the reviews and knew that on the weekends, there can be a long wait. We arrived at MSC shortly after 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday and we were seated immediately. There are two large rooms – we were seated at the back, which I find to be the most homey and comfortable compared to the open-spaced dining room. The only thing I didn’t like about this room was how close together the tables were – no privacy here! Fried Green Tomatoes with Lemon-Herb Aioli– My friend ordered this both days and I ate one of the tomatoes even though I’m not a big fan of green tomatoes. This dish made me change my mind. Crispy outside with a nice tart flavor inside, combined with the Lemon-Herb Aioli, made me sing a happy song. 5* Benne Seed Chicken ‘n Waffles– I was really excited about this dish and when it was placed in front of me, it was impressive. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. This savory dish was unique – green onion waffles, shredded cheese, honey mustard chicken, and a Peppadew-Jalapeño Butter(to me – this tasted like Pimento Cheese). All of it was tasty, and even with maple syrup drizzled on top, for some reason, it worked. So, what was my problem? It was the chicken. And it was tough. I don’t care how good the rest of the dish is, if the chicken isn’t great, forget about it. 3* Benne Seed Honey and Cream Cheese Buttermilk Biscuits with House-made Bourbon Blackberry Jam– This was definitely my favorite. The biscuits were perfect – light, fluffy, and crispy on the edges. The jam was wonderful, not full of sugar, and it was a bit tart, which I like. I didn’t really taste the bourbon, but I loved it. 5* Jalapeño-Smoked Bacon– I wanted some protein with my meal, and this bacon was something different to try. I tasted the smokiness immediately and the heat of the jalapeño got my furnace going. I would have enjoyed the bacon more if they had been crispier. Two pieces was enough for me! 3.5* Shredded Potato & Onion Hash Browns– This was another big hit for me. Normally, I have to add salt to home fries/hash browns, but these were perfectly seasoned. Not much else I can say about these except I could eat it again in a heartbeat. 5* Service– Both days that we ate at MSC, we were given phenomenal service. Friendly, prompt, courteous was our mantra. A++ 5* I know why MSC has so many reviews and such a long wait – I’m a fan! I would love to go back and try out more of their wonderful menu items. Highly recommended, but make sure you go right before they open unless you like to wait.

Dont shoot me yall but miss shirleys is not all that and Lemme tell you something. There is a world of difference between this location and the location close to johns Hopkins. Now im already offeneded that im paying close to 15 bucks for an omelete(its eggs people cmon) but for the omlette not to taste good lawd help me. First time at this location def my last… ill go to the other side of town where my tea us refilled regularly and the have my deep fried deviled eggs. So im there with my coworkers and because the restaurant is set up in such an awkward way they couldn’t seat 11 of us inside. No problem they out together tables in their lobby/outside area. The lobby was noisy def hard to hear the specials and because we werent actually in the restaurant we did get forgotten a couple times definitely an out of sight out of mind issue. Food comes more complaints than kudos… eggs wet and runny,. Dry sandwiches, bland grits, salty soup. The only person truly happy was the vegan in the group she had pancakes. I’m glad i experienced this mid week and not after i had waited an hour in the normal weekend traffic because probably would have flipped that table and all it’s bad food over. Ok not really but in my head i would. If you need your miss shirleys fix just go to the other location trust me on this

I am a big fan of Miss Shriley’s, and I think it totally lived up to the hype. There is definitely a wait time, but it’s worth it, in my opinion. You kind of know what you’re getting yourself into with that. Still, Miss Shirley’s is great and acknowledges the wait time by allowing customers to buy warm coffee while waiting in line. PSA, you can also wait inside on a bench or chair even though most people didn’t seem to when we went. The food is super well prepared and served pretty quickly. We ordered the coconut cream stuffed french toast, and nearly died. Couldn’t even finish the whole thing, it was so rich, but absolutely delicious. I was full for the rest of the day. My friend got the Crab Cake and Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict and loved it! If you have a guest from out of town who isn’t familiar with Old Bay, this is the way to introduce the seasoning to them. Very tasty and well done. I will say, the food can be quite expensive, so eating here is more of a once-in-a-while treat than a regular thing for me. The service was excellent and very attentive. The table next to us ordered the Funky Monkey Bread, and I am 100% set on trying that the next time I’m at Miss Shirley’s. And there will definitely be a next time.

WOW ^_^ ^_^ This place was amazing. I mean everything I had was amazing. My sister and I came here around 1pm on a Saturday, there wasn’t a wait. For a appetizer we had the green tomatoes. I’m not a big fan of green tomatoes in general, it’s too crunchy for my liking however, she loved it! We both had the chicken and waffles with a side of cheesy eggs. The presentation of the food was amazing. It took about 15 – 20 minutes for our food to come out. Everything was presented nicely, the waffles had some type of drizzle and a different kind of butter and it was great. My sister was amazed how good this place was. We both fiend for it now lol. I heard a lot about Miss Shirley’s but never thought to come, even though I live within walking distance. You will definitely be in a food coma by the end of your meal. I’m taking my boyfriend here for his birthday brunch this weekend and I’m pretty sure he will not be disappointed. I can’t wait!!! The wait is forever, I don’t believe anyone on earth could get in Miss Shirley’s Café without a good 45 minute to an hour wait, especially on a Sunday morning. Layout is a bit odd too, the restaurant is basically in the lobby of an office building so it doesn’t have a restaurant vibe to it, it also takes awhile the appeal of their style of food, this food is home-style southern cuisine but the modern vibe doesn’t lend itself to the food style. Food was good but not great. Started with a blueberry cranberry crush, nice flavor but too weak to get a buzz going. Buffalo shrimp deviled eggs were well prepared and flavorful, definitely the highlight of my meal. Finished it off with a trio of sliders, I only finished two of the three because I just wasn’t blown away by any of the sliders. Side of hash was tasty and well prepared. Good but not great, not really worth the hour I spent waiting but good enough if you can go during a less busy time.

I was a little apprehensive about getting waffles with chicken for the first meal of the day, but since everyone recommend it here on Unilocal,I tried it! And much to my surprise I was not disappointed. It was a explosion of flavors in my mouth! My taste buds were a little confuse, but at the end it was worth it! Delicious!!! Oh, and servings are huge! So be sure to go with an empty stomach. Staff was very nice. Prices a little high but I’d still go back. They have something with banana and s’mores that I need to try before leaving baltimore!!! Overall, awesome place for brunch.

Mediocre, not worth all the hype. Fried green tomatoes were pretty good, not soggy, but the crust almost tastes like it was pre made or frozen or something. The crab cake/fried green tomato eggs Benedict was decent and a pretty large portion. The monkey bread is good. If you are able to be seated in the actual restaurant portion, it is a decent atmosphere. The seating out in the atrium portion is horrific, as you are literally in the lobby and it feels like being in a mall food court.

All of the entrees were nicely plated and generous in portion. The benedict, grits, and the chicken and waffles were solid favorites for the group. The fried chicken was a bit on the dry side, but overall, a nice rendition of the classic combination. The coconut cream stuffed french toast had a lot of shredded coconut, but no other coconut flavor to be found. The french toast was a great texture of fluffy, but it really depended on the fruit sauce and syrup for flavor. The biscuit appetizer was quite forgettable.

I might be the one person that doesn’t do backflips for this place. I mean it’s ok. Here’s the thing, when you are made to wait for a really long time as we were, you go in thinking, «This food is about to be amaaaaaaaaazing!» So when it isn’t, you want to fight everyone. At least I do. I just don’t get all the hype. The food really is JUST ok. It’s not worth waiting in the forever-long line though. Both times I’ve been here have been nothing more than meh. I’d go back, but if there is a wait for more than 15 minutes, I’m going elsewhere.

When in Maryland, get a crab cake! Located inside a corporate building. Parking is across the street at the Harbor Park Garage, they validate here. They have seating inside the actual restaurant and outside in the lobby area. Service was good but a little slow. Two Farm Fresh Eggs Any Style — $ 11.99 — Got it with bacon and hash browns. Bacon was thick, crispy, smoky, and salty. Hash browns were soggy and not crispy. Biscuit was dry. Soft Shell Feller Benedict — $ 21.99 — Listed as market price. Crab was crispy and well seasoned. Ate the shell and all. Benedict was very good, runny egg make everything better. Grits were decent with the gravy, I usually don’t like grits but these were not bad. All the other stuff they list as toppings on the menu were not really there. Crab Cake, side order — $ 18.99 — Listed as market price. Disappointing. You expect more crab then filler but this was like 70% breading and 30% crab. Was really dry. Not even the sauce could save the dryness. For the prices they charge, the food shouldn’t be hit and miss. Sad!

Visited the café on a Friday morning at around 8am and there was luckily no wait. However, I noticed that when we were leaving, there was quite a wait, so try to make reservations if possible, if not come early! Pros: — Crab Cake & Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict: Had to get crab cakes as they’re supposed to be good in MD and it was good! The crab tasted fresh and the fried green tomatoes were crispy and sweet! — Soft Shell Feller Benedict: This was just as good, I will say the best part of this dish was the stone ground grits. The grits here are delicious and probably the best grits I have ever tried! My friend ordered the Get Your Grits On and personally, I wasn’t too much of a fan. For the portion size, price for grits and shrimp, it wasn’t really worth it. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast as the grits and crabs are worth it! *Park in the building where the restaurant is located to get validation!

Bottom Line: Delicious food and refreshing drinks in the Inner Harbor. I’m a big fan of Miss Shirley’s in Annapolis so I thought it was time to give the Inner Harbor location a try. The menu still rocked but the seating wasn’t as comfortable and service was slow. We were sat at a table outside but I kinda felt like I was sitting in an alley more than on a patio. Moreover, our table was slightly distanced from the other outdoor tables so I felt a little shunned and forgotten about. Nevertheless, the food(Chicken N Waffles) was delicious and the drinks were refreshing. If you are driving to Miss Shirley’s you may get super lucky and get street parking but if not. I recommend checking with them on what garage to park in as they only validate parking for a certain garage which is a few blocks away, I think.
