I come here for all my greeting card needs. They have a beautiful card for every occasion. Parking is usually hit or miss, but I live down the street so I usually walk there. They also have a nice selection of gift items and knobs… all handmade. I love the art gallery upstairs too. Supporting local businesses is the way to go!

My gosh, what is not to like about Mud and Metal? It has been a Hampden mainstay for many years and offers incredibly cool stuff. For Christmas and special occasions, I usually come in and can almost always find something cool and interesting. The jewelry selection is quite varied and a delight to peruse. Carol, too, is warm and always super helpful. For shopping in Hampden, this is a must-see.

Great store but the clerk was nasty. I was taking pictures of some of the (mass produced) signs with quotes on them and she asked me how I would feel if someone took pictures of my art.

I am not sure why I first came in here, but I am really happy I did. The buyer for this store does a fantastic job of filling the places with one-of-a-kind finds. I have purchased cards, wall hangings, and other items from here that have brought out emotional responses from those who I gave them to. Do yourself a favor and poke your head in. You’ll be glad you did.

Like many shops in Hampden, this is one of those spots where you can go and find unique gifts for friends and family. From cool greeting cards to wacky garden ornaments, personalized cereal bowls and works by local artists. So many colors and shapes to grab your eye in this store. Stop on in when you’re walking the Ave.

Another Hampden renaissance favorite, M&M has quite the eclectic mix of artisinal home décor, great greeting cards, and generally funky stuff for gifts or a personal treat. This is the kind of store where you will love browsing while cruising the Avenue (aka 36^th St). It’s really great during the holiday seasons, as is Hampden more generally.
