Simply amazing… the food is simply incredible from the Spicy Nuts and delectable humus to their awesome chicken dishes. and don’t get me started on their deserts**cough, carrot cake, cough**. and their customer service is stellar. the manager Tracey and her staff are excellent and all deserve high marks. my coworkers and I are now hooked and can’t wait to come back for more…

I hate to say that this will be my last Unilocal review as I’ll not find any chicken that can compare to Nandos. I’m going to retreat into the mountains and meditate as I have reached Pollo nirvana. Chicken gods, take me now as I have seen the light and am prepared for the next level! Okay, semantics aside, this is the joint. The bees knees! The cats meow, the… see, there I go again. You gotta try this place! Incredible! Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, I got«The Cure» for $ 12!!!(military discount). And how about that? A discount for military! Many places don’t offer that. Amazing experience and I can’t wait to tell all my friends in my training group about this place! You get your money’s worth for sure. Happy hour, ½ price sangria, great selection of beer. The general manager served us. Talk about caring about your customers. I’ll be back for sure.

The staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the place is pretty chill. The food is pretty good 8⁄10 probably the only downside is their serving. If you’ve got a bug stomach like me, it gets expensive. Overall, I love coming to this place

I continue to enjoy dining here but considering they’re basically serving chicken the wait can sometimes be a little excessive for both dine in and carryout. If I’m taking a half an hour for lunch, I don’t really want to spend 20 minutes of it waiting. That being said, they do have online ordering too and the food quality doesn’t disappoint, so at least there’s that. I’d encourage people to get a stamp card which you redeem toward different rewards as you accrue visits.

Ugh this place is to die for. Their chicken is freshly made and the pita bread and mashed potatoes are amazing. The ambience is great and price isn’t bad either

I really like their concept. A cute restaurant that serves delicious chicken and chicken sandwiches. I found their ordering process somewhat confusing and complicated. They offer a million different kinds of sauces by the counter and I had information overload to try one. Perhaps a fewer options or recommendations would be helpful? Everything I tried was delicious. However, I was hungry after spending about $ 15 for lunch with a drink.

Good and really cheap spot for a good piece of grilled chicken. Be careful as everything is really spicy! Chicken breast with mango lime sauce was fantastic, just spicy enough — I like spicy but I found their medium sauce to much for a dinner before flying so I went for the mango lime. The coleslaw was good and creamy, on the other hand the butternut squash was TOO spicy, too much Cajun, was hard to enjoy its flavor.

I feel that what they’re doing for Portuguese food and the African bird’s eye chilli or peri-peri, is what Chipotle did for Mexican, except Nando’s is JUST getting started since Mexican food has been done, and done, done again and then redone to point of Americization. Nando’s seems to(currently) have presence in MD, VA, DC and IL. I wouldn’t mind seeing some locations make their way to PA. The process here is to come in, possibly be welcomed and shown the menu, shown to a table or take a table. If you know what you want, order. If you don’t know what you want, take a seat, decide and come up to order. Upon«claiming» a table, you’ll be given a rooster key/stick which plugs into the table stand. Leave the rooster stick in the stand. When you pay, you’re also provided drinks or glass cups for your drinks. Depending on what you get, it takes a minute for it to be cooked fresh to order, and then brought to you. We had the boneless chicken breast medium, chicken livers medium, macho peas, mashed potatoes, upgraded squash. Everything was very good. The medium level spice seemed to be appropriate for me. On the chicken, you mostly couldn’t taste it. On the livers it was a little tangy with a mild spicy kick. I liked taking some of the sweet onion and cranberries from the squash and mixing into the livers. I felt it balanced out the tanginess(almost bitterness) well. The macho peas were a nice side dish. I felt they were over mashed this time around based on some of the other pictures I saw. Mashed potatoes were excellent and paired really well with the peas. The boneless chicken breast was very good. I felt it was slightly overcooked, but not ruined. It was good. I would definitely come back here and try something else. I enjoyed the flavors and new standardized fast(sort of slower pace fast) casual concept for Portuguese grub. The atmosphere was really cool and modern. I enjoyed all of the art and pops of color the mixed up chairs added. Do notice the sink next to the Coke freestyle machine for pre– and post-meal hand washing. White sangria was very sweet and I felt missing fruit that is usually served with sangria. My sangria came with one cube of apple. Service was ok. On paper it was fine, but in spirit it was lacking. I only felt some enthusiasm from the manager who greeted us upon entry, but no smile. The employees seemed to be walking and following procedure, but not exuding any oompth or enthusiasm to be representing the Nando’s Peri Peri product.

So happy that there is a Nandos in the city now, even though its not alot of parking. Its still easier for me than going to Arundel Mills or DC to get it. I love how they make everything to order. Oh yes, I don’t mind waiting for you to grill my chicken to order so that its hot and fresh. Customer service is always spot on! That matters. Staff is knowledgable and if you dont know what to get they can offer suggestions. I had the chicken extra spicy, corn and a side salad. Had to hit the sauce bar for extra sauce. I ordered to go and didn’t enjoy until I got home, the only downside was it was no salad dressing in my bag. I guess I should have checked before I left, but I was home so no worries. Hopefully I can make it downtown and after rush hour again so I can park to enjoy this treat!

We saw this place and had to stop in! My friend, Peri, immediately was enamored with the name. The space is really beautiful and bright. Though they are famous for their chicken, I wasn’t that hungry. We did a Tapas thing and over ordered. The NUTS! Yum. Spicy and tasty. We bagged them up and took them on the plane. Olives were good, hummus and pita were good. I had a red sangria, but it was missing something. It had a ton of fruit but just wasn’t fantastic. I needed it though, because all 3 of the appetizers we ordered were spicy! Definitely go in here if you are in Baltimore.

The first segment of Excited about Eating takes us to downtown Baltimore and to Nando’s PERi-PERi. I have never eaten Portuguese food but I was more than excited to give it a try. Dora here. Hmmm… as I recall, I was the one excited to try it. You were a bit skeptical because of the chicken-heavy menu, and I dragged you along for the walk. :) I chose their famous ¼ chicken — breast/wing with flame-grilled corn on the cob and butternut squash medley. You can order their chicken spiced a multitude of different ways so I chose medium. The chicken was outstanding, juicy and grilled perfectly. The corn was charred from the flame grilling, giving it a deep smoky taste and the butternut squash medley packed in red onion, dried cranberries, cilantro and chili. Just a warning, this side is spicy! Dora here. Haha. Wasn’t everything spicy? A forehead slicker for sure! You kept calling for wipes. Lol. I chose the chicken breast sandwich on Portuguese bread with some lime-heated sauce. Yowza! The white meat was juicy and tender, and the whole sandwich was delish with eye-popping flavor! When you enter the restaurant, you’re given a numbered rooster which corresponds to a table. You order at the counter, grab your condiments and drinks, and then sit at your assigned table. I loved the eclectic, exposed brick interior. Get here early because seating fills up fast and folks were huddled around the counter waiting to order. But not to worry if you can’t. The meals were delivered quickly and service was friendly and efficient. I’d definitely eat at another Nando’s! We rate this restaurant 5 forks out of 5 for a family friendly restaurant serving outstanding food. Ernie & Dora Hiers, Fiction Faith & Foodies Blog

Dined here for dinner around 8pm, there was only one other table occupied besides us. The lady working at the front(cash register) was so nice, I remember her name was Nicole. She should get a raise for providing such awesome service. It was my first time tasting the chicken and it was yummy! I got a breast & fries, the fries were amazing! The chicken was also great, it was moist and the«hot» level flavor was spot on. I really like how you go up to order and fill your own drinks. You don’t have to worry about waiting to get your server’s attention for the check, etc. The décor here is also really interesting– it can be a great conversation starter.

I was in Baltimore for 5 days. I went to Nando’s on my fourth day, cursed myself for waiting so long, and went back on my fifth day. That place is fantastic! I got the lemon herb chicken breast, macho peas, and grilled corn. I then bought two sauces to bring home so I could try and replicate it. Try is the operative word. I also wish they posted the recipe to the macho peas. They were strangely really good. It was like the exact halfway point between peas and pea soup. The décor is clean and cool and the staff was attentive and helpful. I will warn you that you can’t rush Nando’s. It will take about 15 – 20 minutes for you to get your food, even takeout. Don’t let that deter you, it’s absolutely worth it!

The best part of Nandos besides the food? The always amazingly friendly service! Seriously, probably the most consistently pleasant workers of any place in the area. They are doing a great job with hiring. Throw in amazing chicken and sides(garlic bread and macho peas anyone??) and its a great place to grab lunch with friends or take out to study. I also love the butternut squash salad. Tip: great student discount all day on the weekends!

This first word that came to mind when I walked in this place was«Funky»,(in a totally awesome way). African artworks of every shape and size adorn the exposed brick walls… The crazy multi-flavor touch screen Coke machine, the likes of which hasn’t been seen since 2009 when Coke first introduced them… The Latin/African inspired music providing the soundtrack to your experience… And the giant, half round, button padded, booths in faux distressed leather, surrounding multicolored tables that just beg for you to share this place with a half dozen of your best friends… Combine all that with the incredibly friendly wait staff who make you feel more like you’re eating over at a friend’s house, rather than in a restaurant, and you’ve got great atmosphere. The food is flavorful, aromatic, and the spices they use on the chicken run the gambit from almost imperceptible, to the set your hair on fire«Very Hot» sauce! For my visit I chose leg quarters. with just the«Hot» sauce, which to my taste buds fell somewhere between Buffalo wing hot and Indian vindaloo hot. If there was one nit to pick about Peri Peri, it’s that the entrée portions are«Healthy», which is a polite way to say that you’re not going to go home feeling stuffed… The chickens they use definitely aren’t the Perdue sized hens you’re used to getting from Giant. But hey, if you’re still hungry after the main course, the Chocolate Spoon Cake, which is like a big dense chocolate brownie, is a great way to finish off any lingering hunger pangs you may have and send you home happy.

I love Nando’s! Sad I don’t have any pictures to provide, but I’ve had such great experiences here. TIP: When I grab lunch here with my coworkers, we always order online first so we can just pick up the food quickly at the restaurant instead of wait in line. So far, I’ve always gotten the Chicken and Baby Kale Salad with no olives. I wouldn’t exactly call it a kale salad… but the healthy greens and crunchy chickpeas are amazing with the always tasty Nando’s chicken. I get the yogurt dressing on the side and, of course, some of their famous sauces. I’ve also ordered catering here for a work event. They served quarters of chicken and three large tins of sides, as well as plenty of sauce. The mashed potatoes are amazing! Everyone loved it and it was different from the usual sandwich catering. Small comment, but when we opened the catering tins of food, it cut our fingers. My coworker and I were bleeding from the sharp edges :(

As a little chain of restaurants located in Maryland and Virginia, Nando’s PERi-PERi definitely knows how to make their chicken! The concept here is simple, find a table to sit at, look over the menu and see what you like, come up to the counter to order and tell them your table, and once your food is ready, they bring it over to you. Upon looking at the menu, you can see what they specialize in… chicken! From chicken wings, breast, legs, thighs, liver, to even ½ or whole chickens! They have options to order individually or in a large quantity for sharing. Upon ordering your chicken, you can get to pick your sauce, which ranges from Plain, Lemon Herb, Mango Herb, Medium, Hot, and Extra Hot. If you are weary of whether or not the sauce would be too hot for you, do not worry because they have the hot and extra hot sauces in bottles at the condiments area, so you can just get the sauces on the side to try them. From what I have eaten and tried here, I definitely recommend the ½(or whole) chicken, the wings, and surprisingly the livers. The liver was very tasty with the sauce I picked(Mango Herb), which I also had on the wings and whole chicken. What I did was order Mango Herb sauce on the chicken and got extra hot sauce on the side so I could get that extra kick. The chicken had tons of flavor and it was not dry. As for the sides, do not let the idea of peas deter you with the«macho peas», as they were recommended to me and were surprisingly good. Also, the hummus with Peri-Peri Drizzle is great too as they give you some pita bread to dip into it. As for dessert, I had a bite of the Dulce de Leche and Raspberry Brulee cheesecakes… oh man they were so good ! A great way to end a delicious meal!
