FINALLY a vegetarian food truck! Seriously, most vegetarians can agree that food trucks have minimal veggie options, but Sexy Vegie has changed that! First, they take credit card, which is essential, a lot of food trucks don’t or if they do they charge a service fee(i’m hoping i wasn’t charged a service fee today). Okay let’s get to the food, it’s rare that I can eat anything on a menu, so it was fantastic to have so many options. We ordered the avocado mozzarella grilled cheese and falafel wrap. The falafel wrap was unique because the falafel was grilled NOT deep fried in the traditional way, made my health conscious husband very happy. Still tasted delicious and they used tzatziki sauce which really brightened up the taste(sometimes with falafel they use hummus or tahini which can be bland since they are all chickpea heavy). I had the grilled cheese, also delicious. Buttery and crisp, perfectly made sandwich. The avocado and mozzarella was a nice twist, they had traditional grilled cheese as well for those of you prefer the traditional sandwich Anyways, it was all delicious, I hope I run into Sexy Vegie more often! For those of you who aren’t vegetarian, this is still a good healthy option.

I got the chance to try the new drink– delicious and refreshing passion fruit spritzer. Couple that with the black bean burger wrap with the avocado salsa and a delicious memorable lunch has been had. Look out for them at the next farmers market and try out some of their delicious treats. No regrets!

They now have a location at the JFX Farmers Market in Baltimore, which is awesome. Take note, however: though their sign says«100% vegan» not everything on their menu is vegan, as after I ordered something I was told, «wait, are you vegan? this isn’t vegan.» I said they should change their sign to «98% Vegan.» The food is tasty, they are friendly, and we are fans. Go support them at the market.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup in a coffee cup=Brilliant! I was able to sip part of my delicious lunch and warm my hands on the walk back to work.

I had a sexy vegie burger at the capital harvest dc farmers market today. I thought the chickpea burger was good, but it didn’t excite me. The chickpea patty overwhelmed the other flavors(the aioli and the slaw). It also falls apart quickly. But I am impressed enough to go back to try other things on their menu next time.

I spotted the Sexy Vegie truck at WTMD’s First Thursday concert and I am SO glad I did. I really couldn’t decide what to get, because I’m not used to having so many delicious vegan options… the curry chick’n salad, soft tacos, black bean burger, tex mex and«pork-less» banh mi were all calling my name! I had to go with the banh mi though, because it’s hard to find a good vegan version of this outside of Philly and it looked awesome when I saw another person get it. It was delicious! The pork-less meat had incredible texture(similar consistency to the vegan General Tsao’s chicken at Whole Foods, if you’ve ever had that), but with a totally unique flavor. The pickled veggies and creamy vegan dressing on the crusty baguette sealed the deal! Service was a little slow, but to be fair, they had a huge line and were cranking food out to order. The guy at the front of things was staying cool and collected while being bombarded, which is better than I could have done. One tip is to put out napkins and plastic forks and knives so that people don’t have to keep bugging you for them when you’re trying to take orders. Can’t wait to try Sexy Vegie again!!!
