Have to comment on the tater tots, expected a few in a plate and they brought out a huge bowl. Could have easily been all I ordered. Also, quite possibly the best turkey burger I’ve ever had.

I would give this 3.5 stars. My friend and I went for Sunday brunch and had an enjoyable time. I ordered the veggie omelet, which was decent and he ordered the fried chicken and biscuit dish, which he said was pretty good. They offer a nice food selection for brunch, but it’s not an ideal spot for a «cheap breakfast.» I was actually brought the wrong meal to start, but was pleasantly surprised to see the server/bartender so apologetic. They made up for the mistake quickly and even brought out some fruit to munch on beforehand while I waited. The bar got full around noon, but no one was dining in the back at the tables. I appreciate the attempt to make the back look more like a fine dining spot, but it just didn’t match with the bar, décor, etc. I would have preferred more of a laid-back, casual dining area. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the bar area, which was quite spacious with a square structure that was ideal for socializing. There were some unique beers on tap, but if you are looking to get the traditional bud light or miller lite draft option, this isn’t your place. The bartenders were very friendly, but in my opinion, we waited too long for our next drink considering the amount of people that were in there(which wasn’t that many even with a full bar). Overall this place wasn’t anything special and I wouldn’t make a distinct effort to go back, but I still had a decent experience.

This is my first Unilocal review. The Chasseur is awesome. Natalie(our waitress and the owner) was so welcoming, told us the history of the place and its namesake and walked us through the menu. Food was amazing — my girlfriend said it was the best meal she has had in Baltimore from beginning to end. We got the crab mac and cheese and lettuce wraps to start followed by the portobello«cheesesteak», butler steak, rockfish and Serrano burger. Simply amazing. We will be back often.

I’ve breezed in here for drinks + snacks a bit later at night, but I really dig this joint! There’s a great variety of beers on tap, the bar itself is comfy and classy, and the service is always on-point. I will say that I’ve tasted a friend’s crab mac and cheese order, and it was of that Please Dear God, Keep This Ridiculous Temptation Away From My Face Before I Bite Your Hand Off sort. Definitely going to have to come back here and scope out the dinner scene and not just happy hour goodness.

Probably one of my favorite places in the city. I went there for brunch with my husband and toddler for brunch. My toddler(like most) was out of control. The wait staff was AWESOME with him and totally fine when he threw his food. They laughed it off with a «kids will be kids». Their food was ridiculously delicious. If I had the money I’d eat there all day everyday. It was literally a party of deliciousness in my mouth that I NEVER wanted to end. Our waiter(can’t remember his name) was the best. He was quick to get us anything we needed. The best part is that he did it without ever hovering over us like some restaurants do. The ambience was great. A real simple and clean design. The bathroom was spotless. DONTCHANGE A THING!!!

Excellent service and food was great too. Had the pulled pork Mac and cheese and even though I’m not a huge Mac and cheese guy I loved it. They have a great selection of beers and décor is nice. I ate here once during the 5 minutes this place was«Adam and Eve»(previous name/previous owner) and it’s amazing how much of a difference a new owner can make! Previously service was absolutely horrible and food only tolerable and way over priced for what you got. Both aspects have been very satisfactorily addressed. This is a high end place that actually spends that extra dough you pay to get quality ingredients and offer a quality product. Parking in Canton is sometimes tight but this place is adjacent to Sacred Heart which takes up a whole block and at night there is plenty of parking because the church and school empty out and there isn’t a ton of housing crammed in like the rest of Canton. Definitely a place to check out. Need to investigate the date night special I read about in other reviews.

This almost looked like a dive bar from outside, so I was surprised when we passed through the bar into the back dining room and were greeted by white tablecloths and classy décor. Despite being the only ones in the dining room, our waitress didn’t seem bothered and actually went out of her way to help us pick beers and food. When I ordered a pumpkin beer who’s keg had already kicked, the waitress brought out a spiced pear to sample instead — quite a lucky turn of events, as it ended up being completely delicious. It was rather late and I had already snacked, so my attention focused on the small plates — I ordered the veggie torte, expecting a flatbread, but was surprised with a stack of roasted veggies layered with blue cheese instead. Again, another lucky turn of events — it was really good, and I didn’t miss the extra carbs at all. I’m unforuntately not in Baltimore too often, but I could see this being a oft-frequented neighborhood spot.

My friend and I came here for burgers and crab cakes. They were good, but a little pricey. However, those duck tots! You need to reevaluate your entire life if you come here and don’t get the duck tots. They are INCREDIBLE.

I came here for brunch with some friends recently. The food was all very good but the service and atmosphere were rather lacking. When we were seated for brunch they put us all around the bar. This was annoying with a larger group of people since we couldn’t really talk to each other. There appeared to be a dining room further back but it was empty. I’m not sure what was going on with that. I started by ordering a cup of coffee that never arrived. A couple of other folks did get coffee that was weak and burnt tasting so I decided not to mention it as long as I wasn’t charged for the coffee(which I wasn’t.) Next after half of our group placed their orders we were told that we’d have to wait for a few minutes because the kitchen was at capacity. That was odd and resulted in several us getting our food while everyone else was finishing off theirs. The good news is that once our food did arrive it was all very tasty(in an unhealthy comfort food/hangover cure sort of way.) I got the fried chicken on biscuits which I really enjoyed, while my girlfriend got the Crab Benedict. A couple of people got a quiche that looked very good as well. Someone got an order of the duck fat tots to share. The tots were tasty but I didn’t think the duck fat made them anything special. One thing that really detracted from the brunch atmosphere was the fact that they had two large TVs near the edge of the bar showing some sort of dumbest home videos show. I get having some TVs for showing sports in a bar but having them running and showing crap made brunch less pleasant. Turning off the TVs would have made this a 3& ½ star review.

My boyfriend and I went on date night. It was fantastic and I like how it is a quieter more private dining area in the back. I also have frequented the bar on many occasions as well. It is a very friendly and social atmosphere! The food is excellent! I still need to make it for brunch because I hear it is amazing!

We tried Chasseur for happy hour on a Friday. I had been wanting to try it for a while and I am sorry that I waited for so long. We were immediately greeted by a very friendly bartender who was incredibly helpful during our entire visit. She recommended that we start with the duck fat tots and she was right! They were just what we needed after a bit too much alcohol at a previous spot. They were great, crispy and flavorful and the avocado ranch sauce was incredible.(Our bartender told us that it was like crack, she was right!) After that, we tried the crab mac & cheese. It was even better than the avocado ranch sauce. This place might just be the new«go to» for Happy Hour!

Overall: A great place to dinner. Definitely make reservations and plan to circle for a while looking for parking. We had a blast on our kid-less double date night with our best friends. We had 7pm reservations and the GPS took us through the city. That was super fun. Pulled up right at 7 and my sister and I hopped out to get our table while the guys circled(for 20 minutes) to find parking. It didn’t helped that we’d gotten 6 inches of snow 3 days before. The bar was packed. Clearly a popular place. The dining room was small and also packed. The first the waitress said was how gorgeous my sister and I looked. So, she got a nice tip. :) We started with cocktails, or attempted to. We ordered the Starry Night with white wine. Evidently they were out of the chard they normally used and the waitress came back to ask if sav blan was okay. We thought she meant to sub but instead it was just straight wine. It was good though. The guys finally got parked and were very pleased with the beer menu on tap. Drinks and duck fat tots and Filipino eggs rolls were ordered. It took a while to get them but I think that’s because the place was packed. When we finally got them? Delicious. Tots were crisp and so tasty. The egg rolls and sauce were awesome. Dinner orders: enchiladas, 2 orders of the steak and pan roasted rockfish. I got the enchiladas. Oh sweet fancy moses. Best enchiladas I’ve ever had. Seriously. My BIL completely cleared his plate of the rockfish. Like he would’ve licked it if he could. My sister and hubby got the steak. Both ordered medium but one was a little closer to medium well and another a little closer to medium rare. It worked. They said it was very good but the blue cheese is the blue cheese butter was way too heavy. And since it was smeared on the steak and on the potatoes, it was just too much. Dessert was actually a little disappointing. They make it all in house, so it’s always changing, which is cool. On the menu was a nutella crème brûlée, deconstructed carrot cake and chocolate lemon tart. We got all three. BIL said the crème brûlée was good but it tasted like just chocolate not nutella-y. My hubby enjoyed the carrot cake. My sister and I split the tart. It was good but not spectacular. We were wanting something really indulgent since we were totally blowing our diets. I’d also gotten the Baltimore City Water cocktail which was so so yummy. We will go back. It’s a great place.

The Chasseur has its highlights and problems, but, overall, it isn’t really exemplary. The Chasseur is a rather small restaurant and bar, with an apparent emphasis on the latter. The location is pretty nice(and the interior is quite nice and clean), but the restaurant itself is unfortunately loud due to an adjoining bar. The design is vaguely nautical-themed, but really isn’t super memorable. Parking is vaguely convenient, and service is excellent. The food varies wildly. The duck fat tater tots are quite good — they are crispy, adequately sized, plentiful, and the paired avocado-ranch dressing was quite nice. The mussels were well made, but not exactly unique in any particular way. The entrees, on the other hand, were a bit more boring. The grilled salmon was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned, but the paired Israeli couscous was so overwhelmingly seasoned that I couldn’t come even remotely close to finishing it. The tuna tartare tacos were also quite good, though they perhaps needed a bit more going on to be truly memorable. If this place could somehow make the dining room a lot quieter(close the door between the bar and the dining room?) and perhaps tried a bit more adventurous dishes, I’d have been a lot more impressed.

I had my birthday dinner here on Saturday Jan 31. and I couldn’t have been more pleased with everything! I had Jennifer set me up for what I thought was supposed to be only 16 people in my party that turned into about 22 people, and even though they were busy they made the accommodations to fit my large party. Our waiter was amazing and handled our large table with no problems, not once did he mess up which I was surprised since usually large parties they tend to mess at least one or two things up, but I did not have a problem. We started out with the duck fat fries and they were amazing! The menu was a little small but I couldn’t have been happier about that since I personally can never make my mind up with large menu’s. They have a large selection of different wines, craft beers and specialty drinks. I had the fluffy nut drink(i believe that’s what it was called) and it was to die for! I also had the thanksgiving sandwich which was out of this world!!! They have really good portion sizes as well too. Jennifer also had their pastry chef create my birthday cake which was a Nutella cake and I must say I’m not normally a cake person but this was the best cake I’ve ever had, hands down. They made my birthday dinner one that I would never forget!!! I plan on coming back here again, and I recommend this place to everyone. The setting is very lovely and perfect for birthday dinners, or date night. LOVEDIT!!!

I came here with a table of 20 for dinner on a Saturday night. One would typically be worried about compromised service with such a large group, but our waiter was awesome and we all were taken care of impeccably throughout the evening! The only unfortunate thing is that we couldn’t get a split check for each individual person so splitting one $ 900+ check 20 ways with a combo of cash and credit was tough, especially after numerous cocktails! As far as the food, I was slightly disappointed with the small menu however the items I did order were great. We all ordered baskets of the duck fat tots that were served with(what I believe I was told) wasabi aioli. I’ve had duck fat fries and various poutine plates before and I couldn’t really tell that the tots were cooked with duck fat. They were definitely crisp and crunchy and tasted great with the aioli. I also ordered the mixed green salad as a starter which was fresh and full of veggies tossed in an apple cider vinaigrette. One of the small plates I ordered was the braised pork BBQ sliders which had an awesome flavor and served with a sized of homemade French fries. They also had an awesome crunch like the tots and tasted great. For drinks, they had a craft beer list and a wine list in addition to an array of cocktails so your thirst would definitely be quenched! Most of our group mixed and matched the craft beers but I’m a wine fan so I stuck with the Riesling. For ambiance, it’s more on the upscale/intimate side. The front of the restaurant housed the large bar and the back room had the dining tables. The parking wasn’t ideal, but mainly because this was situated on a corner in a residential neighborhood. Just a few blocks up from Brewer’s Hill. Overall, is was a lovely evening with friends with awesome service and delicious food. I will definitely be returning, but probably to try brunch next time!

Came by on a Friday night for dinner because the restaurant/tavern down the street had an 1.5 hour wait. Sat down in the restaurant section, since happy hour was already over at the bar. There were a mix of nicely dressed folks, some casual, and a family. A nice mix. The service was good. They were out of the meatloaf, though it was still dinner time. I can’t say I liked the food. The sour short ribs did not offer much flavor. They came with these potato sides and a brown sauce. The over all flavor was not sour, it wasn’t salty either. It was mildly sweet but overall lacked flavor. I’m not that picky, finish 99% of my meals, but I only managed to eat a couple bites. We also had the crab cake sandwich. It was more promising. There were chunks of crab meat, but the bread was a little burnt and the center of the crab cake tasted a bit under cooked. We essentially ate around the middle. The only good thing about our meal was the duck fat tater tots. But duck fat tater tots are always good. Not impressed with the food, pleasant place to eat and sit for a while though.

I came here for one of there monthly Paint Nite events which was awesome, but this review is not about Paint Nite. I stayed for a sip and bite and man Im glad I did! The laid back atmosphere at the bar was just what I needed. The drinks were dangerously good. Our bartender(gosh I wish I could remember her name) mixed up a «panty dropper» per the request of my date, I couldn’t taste the alcohol at all. You already know that is a recipe for T.R.O.U.B.L.E. Any whoooo we ordered the duck fat tater tots, OMG!!! You MUSTMUSTMUSSSSTTTTT try them, melt in your mouth delicious. I also had the Tuna Tartare Tacos. They are so light and savory. Between the Tots Tacos and dropped panties I sure had a great night. The bartender and local patrons are super friendly and treat you like family, I will definitely be back. I am looking forward to trying the Sunday Brunch One thing I would like to note, parking is on the street and The Chasseur is located in residential area. So parking can be a bit tricky. Once you find your parking spot let the great food and fun begin.

I had heard about the Chassuer on Facebook’s Canton Neighbors page in the comment sections after someone asked about Thursday night specials. My girlfriend and I decided to check out their date night special: $ 50 for a bottle of wine, an app or dessert, and 2 entrees. Yum. Yes. Do not pass go. Do not collect $ 200. Go here. App: tuna tartare tacos in a wonton shell. Thoroughly enjoyed these, as I would usually pick them for an app at any restaurant. Entrees:(disclaimer: I don’t enjoy steak) my girlfriend got the flatiron steak with wild shroom mashed potatoes, asparagus, and bleu cheese butter. I DONTLIKESTEAK, ANDTHISWASDELICIOUS! Everything about this meal was delicious! The steak was tender, the mashed potatoes were perfect, and the butter and brown gravy was so flavorful! I had the rockfish(normal $ 26 — but with the date night, the total is $ 50), with risotto, artichokes, lemon, green peppercorns, in a broth. Everything about this meal sounded amazing and I couldn’t resist. This meal also said«mmm!» With every bite. Wine: we got the house merlot. I would highly recommend. I really enjoyed this place. The manager also came around to all the tables to make sure everything was good and to introduce themselves.

I really need to give the city dining cards as much credit as they deserve. Flipping through them is how I’ve discovered many of my favorite spots in the city(Verde, Myth & Moonshine and Nickel Taphouse to name a few.) Recently I was looking for a dinner spot and I came across the card for The Chasseur in Canton. After reading a few reviews and finding a dining companion, we headed over to Canton. One of the things that I read on the menu that sounded delicious was the Duck Fat Tots. They were sprinkled with parmesan cheese and served with a side of avocado ranch. The tots were great and a huge portion but we were unable to finish the basket because they were a touch on the salty side. My friend decided to order the Crab Mac & Cheese which had lump crab, aged cheddar, old bay, and Sriracha on the side. My friend really enjoyed this dish and said it was loaded with hunks of crab meat and a lot of cheese. I ordered the Tuna Tartare Tacos. In the tacos was, ahi tuna, cucumbers, and sesame seeds and they were in crispy wonton shells with a chili-garlic emulsion sauce. I really liked these, but after the saltiness from the tots I had to scoop the tuna out of the tacos and only ended up eating that part. The tuna was fresh and the sauce had a nice spicy kick. For a neighborhood gem with great food, The Chasseur is worth a visit!
