Great bar on «The Boulevard» where Café Calypso used to be. The owner is a friendly guy who seems to genuinely want you to have a good time here. The pulled pork sliders are absolutely delicious, and the«BBQ in Pigtown» coolness isn’t lost on me. I try to hit the monthly Pigtown Main Street happy hour, when they’re only a buck apiece.(Yeah. You heard me.) Oh, and in season they have dollar crabs. Nice! The beer list is decent, and a Natty Boh goes with anything y’all. I just wish the service was a little faster. I’m chalking that up to a new computerized system that seemed to stump the bartender when I was there last. It’s good to see that a usual crew seems to make it to the ‘Pig, but since I’m a bit of a wallflower it took me awhile to be able to feel comfy outside of the clique. Luckily, said clique is very welcoming and easy to talk to. I’ll always prefer Tommy’s Downtown Tavern and his laid back, sports bar vibe. But it’s nice to see another bar worth visiting here in Pigtown.

Listen to me Tilted Pig. I’ve been in restaurants for the past 7 years and you are still working out your kinks — I get that. You have to anticipate things that are happening in the community that will effect your business. Such as… the Ravens parade! You can’t have one person working the whole restaurant on a day like that! I will forgive running out of most of your food items, ordering for an event like that is hard sometimes. Your chef needs some hustle in his step. big time. 45 minutes for a plate of terrible nachos is beyond disappointing. I’ve never met a nacho i didn’t like. What you put on that plate belongs on an episode of «America’s Worst Chefs». That movie theater-from a bag– cheese imitator you glopped on top of those chips was a sin. Chicken tenders and fries were great. The fries had old bay seasoning on them and the chicken was well breaded and came with a tasty honey mustard sauce. Get a few craft beers in there. You’re a small local business help out other small businesses. Also, if you’re going to have a long wait on food never make people wait for drinks. There were a lot of people in that bar with empty glasses trying to get the bartenders attention. That’s money out the door. Tighten up your game Tilted Pig. First impressions are everything.

As a Pigtown resident, I hate having to cross MLK for a beer and a burger. Washington Bvld has been in need of a bar for quite some time, and the Tilted Pig is here to fill that niche. The crowd is representative of the ‘hood’s diversity: black, white, young and old coming together for drinks with a warm, friendly neighborhood-bar feel. The service is friendly and the drinks tend towards liquor, as of now there is no beer on tap and only a modest bottle selection. A standard bar fare menu is available. The bbq sandwich is very good, but the veggie burger came out lukewarm and bland. The place also offers pool upstairs and regular special events ranging from pay-per-view fight events to spades tournaments. If you are ever on «the other side of MLK», come and give a little service to a new business in an often-overlooked neighborhood. Once you meet the people here, you’ll be glad you did.

The pork sandwich was pretty good. The menu could be a little bigger. Basic bar food and that’s fine.
