Late at night before an interview I was not in the mood to venture out to the streets of Baltimore to find food, so I found solace in taking an elevator down to the 2nd floor and treating myself to a nice dinner. A perk of the Tremont hotel is if you opt out of room service each night you get a $ 6 coupon to Tug’s. The choice was easy! I sat in the bar — though the restaurant was very empty. The bartender could not have been more pleasant or attentive. Seems like a great guy who really knew his stuff. He recommended a local IPA(for the life of me I cannot remember the name) and it was exactly what I wanted. The food, on the menu, had my mouth watering and I was so excited. In the end, it was all very heavy and creamy and I left a little bloated. I started with a grilled caesar salad. I love salads done this way, but my husband is not a fan. The presentation was beautiful and it would be a five star salad if it wasn’t drowning in a thickkkkkkk salad dressing which was impossible to scrape all of the way off. I wouldn’t get the salad without dressing, because you would miss out on the presentation, but definitely say a LIGHT amount! And say it like you mean it! The seafood fettuccine was also the same. Looked beautiful on the plate, but in the end, all I could taste was cream and calories and the rich flavors of the food did not get to shine through. I’ve also never seen asparagus cut so small, it was like I was a child and they were trying to hide the veggies. I love a good meaty asparagus! All in all — OK food and convenient, but for those prices I’d rather leave more satisfied and less feeling like a hippo.

Had breakfast here while staying @ Tremont Plaza Hotel. Since I can’t walk too well due to accident, didn’t have much of a choice in the area. Service was slow, & there wasn’t too many people there. Food was decent. They need larger coffee cups as they ones they use hold about 6 oz. & I needed a refill about 5 times. I had eggs & kids had pancakes, they thought it was too dry. My eggs were OK.

We live in the City and this place is close to my office. SInce we tried this place we like it very much. Food is always good, service is consistent. it’s not a cheap eats but the quality is worth it. My inlays, who are very hard to please, liked this place when we took them. It’s part of the hotel but IMO can stand on its own. We’ve been back many times and will continue to patronize.

I was in the Tremont Plaza Hotel where this«bar and grille» [quotes} is hidden away. A group of ten of us met here for lunch on Friday afternoon ad even though it was almost completely empty it seemed they were a bit stunned by our group. The food was OK but that was about it. Nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly and courteous and did their best but we just seemed to overwhelm them. It didn’t really seem to have the«bar and grille» atmosphere and may just be there to accommodate some of the hotel guests that don’t want to go anywhere else in Baltimore.
