We had a company luncheon at twist, everything from start to finish was on point, the set up inside the private room gave us the needed privacy and the level of service that really left everyone amazed, we actually had a special menu designed by the chef for the occasion, a little bit of fusion, Mediterranean south American with a touch of Baltimore city, everything was amazing. I just want to give credit when it’s due, twist did rock our event, thank you Judd for all your help !!!

Came with a group of colleagues to celebrate a birthday. Along with the friendly service and delicious(and well-presented) food, staff went above and beyond to celebrate with us including free soup for the birthday girl and free dessert for the whole party. This is my second lunch with colleagues here and I know we’ll be back! I also learned this time that they are constantly experimenting with new dishes for the menu which we got to sample– so fun!

My girlfriend and I walked into Twist for the first time about two hours before close on June 15th. my GF came directly from a double shift at work and hadn’t eaten all day, we were hungry and wanted to splurge on a nice sit down meal after a long day at work. We made it about 3 feet into the restaurant before being being accosted by the waitress on duty. The server named Jackie was right by the front door and made eye contact with us as we entered, choosing not to great us or point us to a table. Jackie who also claimed to be the working manager, frustratedly ask us «Can I help you?» as we were trying to sit down at one of the many open tables. As if we would wander into the restaurant for reasons other than to purchase food– The restaurant had no sign clearly stating that we should wait to be seated, and only had 2 – 3 tables occupied) the restaurant was pretty empty). When greeted with a waitress who seemed so uninterested in actually helping us, so far as to accost us as we attempted to seat ourselves was tremendously upsetting and disrespectful. we left Being profiled and having our hard earned money disrespected left us unable to stomach Twist and unwilling to subject ourselves or Jackie to our eating there because we were clearly a nuisance to her. DONOTEATHERE, they do not respect you or the money you earn to eat out, we left insulted with no food. After I realized how upset my girlfriend was(crying), I decided to post this review. I am truly disgusted by the treatment we received.

I discovered this place by accident nearly a week or so after it opened. The first night I had their Chicken and Waffles entrée. Best. Fried. Chicken. Ever. And I mean ever. I was floored. The next night I defaulted eating here again and tried their Amish Chicken entrée. Flawless. Juicy, delicious, and perfectly portioned. Their desserts, on point. And this place is well priced! I came back a year later and it’s as amazing as I remembered. I had the Amish chicken again and it’s just… everything I wanted it to be. I recommend this restaurant with a fervor as if I were on their payroll.

I will start with the good. Servers were very nice and attentive. Made nice recommendations and were friendly. Food was mediocre. The mezze plate was a good variety of dips. My lamb had nice flavor along with the couscous but the vegetables were bad. Over boiled with no flavor. Wife had the chicken with waffles which were okay. Decent flavor but the side of bacon was bad. Crumbled, burnt, and some pieces were just under cooked fat. The dessert was awful. They gave us free(very nice of them) bread pudding to try which was burnt on top. The tres leches cake was very dry and probably the worst tres leches I have ever tried. The worst was the ending. When I received the bill, all of the prices were inflated from what was on the menu. I said something to the waiter to which he responded«Yes the prices have increased but it is not too drastic». I don’t care how drastice they are you can’t charge a customer more then what the menu states. He took the check to the manager. He agreed to change the pricing stating they increased their prices but have not changed it on the menu yet. Every item that we ordered we were over charged for. All 4 items totaled $ 6.95 but when he returned the manager only deducted $ 5.45. He then proceeded to give me more reasoning on why the price discrepancy. At this point I was frustrated and stormed out. Sad ending to what was a decent restaurant try. We liked the place and might have returned but they lost out at then end completely. They have some improving to do with the exception of the serving staff from what I saw.

The food was all delicious and they offered a variety of american and Mediterranean dishes. Our server was energetic and really cared about each table and quality service. BYOB with a store two blocks away but with limited selection. This place was packed and hopping by 630pm on a Saturday. I’d definitely come back. Looked like a great brunch location too.

I had a Living Social for Twist so my boyfriend and I stopped in around 8pm on a Thursday evening. It was completely empty sans a table of older folks finishing up their wine. It’s BYOB so we brought in a 6-pack to have with our meal. We started with the Mezze which we both really enjoyed, the tabouleh was great. For our entrees my boyfriend got the crabcake sandwich and I got the fresh linguine. My entrée came with shrimp that was super fishy and seemed like it had been cooked and then recooked again? It was not good. My boyfriends sandwich was also fishy and the crabcake had a lot of filler which was really disappointing. Our server was friendly and attentive, but the food was a big miss for us. If we were to come back we’d definitely opt to try something other than seafood, but I’m not in a hurry to get back here soon.

Yums! IntiIntimate setting and casual atmosphere. I went for dinner and wanted something light and fresh so I ordered the Crab & Avocado Salad. It was Very fresh and beautifully plated! I would have loved more greens but it overall was very tasty and I didn’t have anything left on the plate.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Fells Point. It has amazing hamburgers and other food. The tres leches cake is DELICIOUS! The manager is also really nice and the servers accommodate whatever you need.

An absolute disaster of a restaurant. One waitress had an incredible attitude and just looked upset walking around shaking her head and frowning. The other waitress was chewing gum and pounding on the table where patrons were to sit. And that was the best part. The restaurant was hot, it took a long time to order, and even longer to get our food and it came out wrong. Fried eggs came out as scrambled, coffee was poured to top off hot tea– and it took three requests and 20 minutes to replace the tea. The owner or manager was busy avoiding eye contact, feeding the parking meter and ultimately left in the middle of total chaos. All in all bad food, apologetic service and ridiculous waiting time. Would recommend avoiding this place.

Loved this place! My daughter and I stopped overnight in Fells Point on our way south. The weather was a bummer, clouds and rain. We were walking the area on Saturday afternoon when we strolled past this great looking place. What caught my eye was the«non pub» like place. I’m not a big drinker nor was I looking for a loud bar type atmosphere. This fit the bill. I went inside and met Mousafa(sp) he was very pleasant and showed me around. He made me feel very comfortable and excited about coming back for dinner. He explained that it was a byob. Love that! We arrived at 7:00. We were greeted and given the option of tables to sit. We chose the front room area to be a part of the whole open kitchen feel. I enjoy a basic tasty meal. I don’t look for funk but I do look for a delicious meal. When we sat the chef sent over a complimentary appetizer: shrimp and eggplant on toast quarters with melted cheese and a fabulous drizzle. Loved it! For my entrée I ordered the filet mignon which came with potato au gratin which was yummy. Cooked to perfection. My daughter also had the filet while her friend ordered the lamb shank which was so tender it just fell off the bone! Closed the evening with the bread pudding which was much better than I had imagined. It was very firm and moist served with vanilla ice cream. A wonderful cappuccino as well Our server Jackie was very friendly and attentive. The entire experience was amazing! Love, love the place!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Twist was a fantastic addition to Fells Point. We have enough pubs, enough crab dip to sink all the ships in the inner harbor, and too many mediocre tapas places. Twist offers mediterranean and new american at a great price that doesn’t sacrifice flavor. I would expect(but happily do not, don’t change!) to pay more for the quality at Twist. Brunch first: I’ve had the smoked salmon omelet which was incredible. The potatoes were perfected portioned and crispy. The omelet itself was TOPPED with the salmon which was unexpectedly but plentiful and a fresh contrast to the omelet itself. We table split the Mezze platter which was fantastic — gave a great sampling of everything. I saw the crab/avocado salad which looked great but light on greens… our server, however, happily brought out a huge plate of greens to fix that. The«basic» breakfast at Twist was anything but and looked gorgeous. Overall, everyone was thrilled! We sat in the back room which was like an open greenhouse/garden with skylights — actually the original part of the building that they did a gorgeous job in renovating. Went back for dinner tonight with some girlfriends and sat in the main space which was cozy, well decorated and not too loud. Open kitchen was cool too. We were greeted with a complimentary appetizer. It was a shrimp/eggplant mixture on toasts. I don’t know everything in there but it was creamy, just spicy enough, and i could have eaten three of those.(Whole plates not single toasts… to be clear) Great start from the owner. For dinner, I ordered the lamb shank, supposedly a popular dish. Well, I apparently ordered the last one around 7:45(a bit surprising for a saturday night?) but I will just consider myself a lucky girl. It was killer. Not a lamb person(i find it dry) I found this to be AMAZING. The meat fell off the bone(and it was a BIGONE. I had a huge portion of leftovers. can’t wait for that tomorrow), so tender and it had an incredible harissa wine sauce. Served with in-season zucchini, broccoli and a lovely sardinian couscous. which from some googling, i learned is actually«Fregola» similar to Israeli couscous in look, but much more textural and flavorful. And you’re welcome. Overall, incredible meal and sort of steal at $ 18. Again, don’t change Twist!!! We couldn’t skip desert, so we tried the Banana Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream to split. I found this to be divine. It wasn’t like typical bread pudding– it seemed cakier? But still incredibly moist, with some sort of chocolate glaze, strawberries and cream, and delicious vanilla ice cream. Well done! Will definitely be back, and glad I got the chance to try dinner as well!

Don’t make a reservation through Unilocal!!!They don’t accept them so if you go on a busy day like Mother’s Day thinking you’re good you’re not. Kinda a let down when you’re here to celebrate mom. They squeezed is in but complained about it the whole time. Not only did they complain to us about the Unilocal mix up but proceeded to tell every table that they don’t take Unilocal reservations and too bad to the people who made them. I’m sitting right here I can hear you. Not to mention all the empty tables around me and the 45min wait for eggs Benedict. There’s a classy way to handle it and that’s not it. Won’t be coming back.

My husband and a good friend made reservations to surprise us for mothers day. We were seated shortly after we arrived but that’s where the good ended. I don’t know if it was a fluke day or what but it took two hours to get food. Half of our orders were messed up but nobody returned anything because we didn’t want to wait any longer to get it fixed. The bacon was all fat and inedible. Our server was nice but seemed stressed and in a really unpleasant situation. As I took my children to the bathrooms(one which had water all of the floor, the other did not flush) I overheard staff talking about some reservation mishap with some online booking service. I get that can happen but they shouldn’t have made it blatantly obvious to everyone in the restaurant. We have two young children so don’t take many opportunities to go out. this was an unfortunate experience for us and we would not recommend or return. And while they do have high chairs, that’s as kid friendly as it gets. It would have been great had they offered crayons and paper for the 4 kids at our table to occupy them with the ridiculous wait time for food. There was a discussion about walking to Amuse Toys to grab something to occupy the time but we opted not to.

Great local spot. Have dined in and done OrderUp. I’ve had mostly breakfast food(which is pretty difficult to muck up) and my boyfriend got the rack of lamb for lunch. Right now it’s BYOB so take advantage of an inexpensive date local. Today the chef sent over the tiramisu which was pretty incredible.

Went for dinner Valentine’s Day, towards the end of the dinner rush. Apparently the staff was tired of working for the day. The first thing our server told us was how tired she was and that she’d been working all day. I’ve also worked in restaurants for many years so I know the feeling, but that’s not something you say to a guest, as if it’s a burden that they are there. We should’ve taken it as cue to go elsewhere. It took over an hour to receive entrees after our appetizers. A simple«hey the kitchen is backed up and it should be X minutes longer» would have sufficed. Instead the last 30 minutes of our wait we barely saw the server. When I asked the other server in that section to ask her to stop by. He abruptly told me she was busy and asked what I wanted. I politely said I just wanted to check on our food and again he cut me off and told me that it’s not the servers fault the food hasn’t come out. Which of course I know and didn’t need him to tell me, nor would any person with minimal intelligence. I might have understood his demeanor if we’d been complaining, but it was the first time I’d asked either server for anything during the whole evening. To top it off we ordered salmon and lamb chops — medium rare. My mother and boyfriend’s salmon came out very dry and my lamb chops were well done. They ate around the mediocre salmon and we finally got a manager to have my lamb chops recooked. The recooked version was at least the right temperature but overall tasted bland and were a bit chewy. Just other feedback on service, we didn’t have napkins during the entire appetizer course, I think my boyfriend finally grabbed some from the bar. Water refills were pretty much non-existent. There were no sincere apologies made by the manager or the rude male server, though the girl who was our server did seem genuinely exhausted and embarrassed by the whole thing. This may not be the norm(it had been recommended to me by a friend who usually has fantastic taste in restaurants) but I personally will never dine here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. I have been a server & found the whole ordeal to be unacceptable. Not only was the service terrible but the food wasn’t even good enough to try to make up for it. Everyone knows holidays are busy times in the service industry so staff appropriately and for goodness sake if YOU are in the wrong don’t insult your customers.

Really enjoyed our dining experience at Twist. My usual spots on Broadway were tiring the wife so she decided we give them a try and I am glad we did. We even remembered when we first met this was a shwarma shop so we had good memories here prior. We started with the pretzel appetizer which was nice and toasty. I had the crab cakes which were divine and the wife ordered a salad and Salmon. The selection was great as well as drinks, price and service were on point. Most of the bars in fells have sub par food and I felt Twist prides themselves on having really good food for bar hoppers in that area.

I really wanted to hate this place because they replaced my fav drunken shwara shack but I recently caved during a fit of laziness(and their offering free delivery/no min on GrubHub). Everything we got was excellent though a little over priced — especially the breakfast items. But, I can’t knock anyone who brings calamari right to your front door. maybe if they add a greasy shwarma wrap to the menu I could eventually forgive them.
