Vito’s Pizza

We had the thick Sicilian square pizza. My wife loved it for the thick bready crust. I thought it was ok. Wasn’t flavorful enough IMO and the toppings were sparse. I split the difference in stars. I look forward to trying their New York style.
Also, know that you won’t find a good menu for them online. The Unilocal menu didn’t have descriptions or a list of toppings. They don’t have a dedicated website. I randomly found a flier of theirs in a drawer. Otherwise I would have just skipped them and gone somewhere else. Yo, Vito, you need a better web presence.

Pizza is delicious, garlic knots are the best around. I’ve also had a salad and their dressing is pretty tasty. I think the owner is very nice, he always talks to my infant and says funny things to him, and the last time I was in he gave me a free drink with my meal. My husband is from Long Island and this is the only pizza he will eat in Baltimore.

So, as a NYer outside of NY i have had to adjust my expectations for pizza. There are some decent places. Vito’s is NOT one. There is too much cheese and it isn’t even really cooked. It’s like it needs more time in the oven.

Shared a plain cheese pizza with our three kids of different ages. No complaints — the cheese was ample (it seemed like an extra cheese pizza), though sometimes fell off the slice entirely. The price was reasonable, and they had a decent cross-​section of sodas. Everyone felt satisfied with two slices. The atmosphere is meh, but the pizza was hot, fresh, and good, so whatever.

The entire staff was amazingly professional and kind. Our food came very quickly, but was absolutely delicious (I had the crab pizza). The price was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. I’d definitely recommend.

Why are all the male servers at Vitos in Cockeysville so pompous. They make you very uncomfortable
If carry in wine policy with a $ 10.00 corkage is not appropriate then proprietor should change policy. Waiters should not try to humiliate you
Ordered fish of day. Portion was less than child’s portion and not filling.
Have been going to this restaurant for twenty years. Many undesirable changes and frequent establishment less and less often

I have been here many times now and have tasted the pizza, chicken parm sub, Italian sub, and a few other things. All the food is actually decent, and I have been pleased with the taste and quality.
Now…the reason for my 1 star rating: the owner is THE biggest jerk with a massive attitude! He NEVER greets or speaks to customers as they enter or exit and he doesn’t even smile. He is just rather surly, rude and unpleasant. And as I mentioned, I have been more than 6 times in the past 2 months, and never once did he say «hey, nice to see you again», or «welcome back». He also yells at his staff in front of everyone, and offers zero in the way of any kind of customer service.
I will not be going back because the owner needs a major attitude adjustment. He is really that bad!
With so many restaurant choices around… why would I spend my money at an establishment that clearly doesn’t care. No thanks.

The pizza was great because of the nice men who work in the back but the owner (the old Italian) is the biggest jerk I have ever encountered. He accused our family of messing up his bathroom which we did not and then he proceeded to curse at us with our two young children. I will never waste my time in that place again. He also treats his employees like dirt.

The pizza is decent but the main guy is incredibly rude. This review was primped by our most recent experience. We ordered 5 pizzas on Halloween for a 5:20pm pickup. At 6:10 we were still waiting for our pizza order and when we finally went to the register to tell them to cancel our order… enough was enough… they threw 5 pizzas at us. No apology for waiting an hour, no nothing.

Best pizza I have found in b-​more. Granted places like Toss and Iggies are great, but they are overpriced. This is a great place for a good slice!

Of the pizza. Dough was undercooked, toppings were soaked with garlic butter to conceal their low quality and tastelessness, and thrown together with so little care that one piece would be loaded, while the one next to it would be bare.
Will not be returning. Hopefully this review causes them to improve.

Best slice in bmore! Very impressed with the pie; the dough was thin and lovely. Cheese could have been a little fattier, sauce wasn’t offensive. Fried mushrooms to beat the band. All for just a dollar or two more than shoddier chain pizzas.
This joint certainly doesn’t deserve the critique on the front page; the owner is sweet if a little brusque. Overall ⁹⁄₁₀!

I have no idea what people are talking about when they say staff/​owner is rude. We order every Friday and the man at the register is always nice to us. Their pizza is much better then any others around the Rodgers Forge area.

I agree with every negative review. I have tried to give this place more than one «second chance» and its a terrible experience every time. Calling in, you are never really sure what you ordered is what you will get. (better look first before driving home). Ordering and paying at the register is that gentleman everyone is referring to, spending all his attention on looking up at the TV and not focusing on you the customer. Finally the food. Its just ok not good.

Food was meh, but the worst part was the owner, I mean seriously why own a business when you are such an A-​hole to your customers. Never again will I set foot in that place!

It’s ok. Had cheesesteak w/​fries. Not terrible certainly not the best in town. Same for sausage and pepperoni pizza. Again ok, but not the best.
Owner behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy for asking for Old Bay on my fries. This is Baltimore! Geez.

A friend and I went there for some pizza on a Tuesday night. We ended up getting a small veggie and an order of fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were fried super hard and weren’t all that great. The veggie pizza was surprisingly tasteless. I didn’t know such a thing could happen! Anyway, I won’t be rushing back. It wasn’t horrible, but I’ve had much much better.

Love this place. From New York and Vitos pizza is just as good if not better than anything from NY. Guy at the counter is very friendly, says thank you every 5 seconds. Get the chicken parm slice and forget everything you ever thought you knew about pizza. White slice is very good as well.

The service wasn’t very friendly, but the food was fantastic. I only got carryout and we got cheesesteaks which were some of the best in the area. I’m not a huge fan of chains, but will be returning here.

I went to college up the street from this place for 4 years, and in all that time I was unable to find a better slice. Bear in mind, though, that says way less about this pizza than it does about Baltimore as a city.
I’m probably spoiled growing up so close to NYC, and enjoying all that comes with that privilege, but that doesn’t change the fact that this pizza is just OK.
